Venus' Guide To Progressive Muscle Relaxation

Ah, you're awake. Good. Now let me check your sides.

My goodness me! It must be that side stitch you got from yesterday. Maybe you've been running a lot, or have just caught it from sitting too long in a space you think is yours. That happens when muscles build tension, or are torn. However, I know a slightly positive way to get rid of that stitch for good.

It's called 'progressive muscle relaxation'. I have taught it to every single person aboard Fireball XL5, and every single resident of Space City too. So, I am going to teach it to you as well. I will be guiding you through muscle relaxation through your toes, legs, arms and of course your sides. Are you ready? Good, then let's begin.
  1. Let's start with your toes. Curl your toes in really tight and hold for 2 seconds, then release. Feel how your toes feel slightly lighter thanks to the release of muscle tension.
  2. Now onto the legs. Scrunch your legs up into a big tight ball and hold for 2 seconds. Now, let go. There, your legs are a lot lighter now.
  3. Arms are next. Clench your fists tight, like Arthur during the time when he learned that it wasn't okay to hit his sister DW - poor girl - and hold for two seconds. Imagine you're Arthur, ready to punch the camera when he strikes at his sister. And finally, release. Your arms feel light and have released tension as well.
  4. And finally, your side. Sit up and move slowly from side to side. Sing a song if you prefer. With Zoonie I usually sing Row Your Boat, because whenever he gets a side stitch, he feels greater pain than-
"Howdy fol-AAAAOOOOOWWWW!!"

What's the matter, Zoonie?

"W-w-w-welcome H-h-home..."

Oh, you've got muscle pain. Well, show the loyal visitors to this blog where it hurts.

*Zoonie pulls out a mussel shell*

A mussel? *laughs* I thought you meant you had pain in your muscles!

*Both Venus and Zoonie laugh*
