Rag Baby

My baby…

I know you’re our child

Please try to understand

We love you so much…my child…

Furaha, at the hollow age of 7, an age when she was supposed to be big enough to do things any of the other big kids ought to do, was tired. She sat by the fire feeling very exhausted when Optimus came and picked her up, holding her tight in his arms and holding a pail China mug filled with creamy, fresh milk.

My baby…

Hold my hand and smile…

All will be alright…

You have your family by your side…

Furaha drank the beautiful pure whiteness of this creamy substance, as if she were breastfeeding Optimus Prime. It felt like the scent of an angel had filled her meaty-breathed mouth. Around her, all was quiet in the family. Wizardmon was sitting in his rocking chair with his reading glasses on, reading his book. Orko was resting on the leather sofa, while Gatomon was eating buttered toast soldiers, sticky yellow butter all round her mouth, turning it from a pale white to a dairy-produced yellow.

When stars shine in the sky, understand

I’m here for you, and so are they.

Furaha comfortably huddled into Optimus’ arms, her dry throat now moist with delicious white creamy goodness. Optimus sighed and hugged his foster daughter, delighted to have her in his life.

Whenever you’re alone, call out.

I will be quick to respond.

And when the time comes,

You’ll be independently free…

Gatomon drank her milk, as all her toast soldiers were finished. She hiccuped, and Wizardmon looked up from his book. He took his reading glasses off and went to pick up his niece. He hugged her softly, as she yawned and sighed in gentle happiness. Furaha huddled into Optimus’ giant hands, her head filling with memories of all the fun she had with her family in her environment’s safe, quiet nature…

A-ye, a-ye, aye.

A-ye, a-ye, aye.

You are one of us,

A-ye, a-ye, aye.

You are one of us, my child.

Even though you don’t belong.

In her mind, Furaha could see her hugging Gatomon out in the field. She could see Wizardmon feeding her some creamy milk from a pristine glass in the kitchen. She could see Orko jumping out from behind a bush, surprising her, and Optimus Prime hugging her when she was just a little baby.

A-ye, a-ye, aye.

A-ye, a-ye, aye.

We’ll be there for you,

A-ye, a-ye.

When you are alone, don’t worry.

We’ll be there to guide you.

Gatomon and Orko were getting a bit tired. They were yawning and huddling next to each other, like they were about to share a hug all siblings share any minute now.

Peas In A Pod - Optimus Adopts Furaha

At the train station, a giant Autobot named Optimus Prime decides to take care of the young cub, but is given a letter from the nurses determining Furaha isn’t going back to the hospital. “What a relief,” he says.

The Theme Of Gatomon: Last Evolution Alone

Beanie Burgers All Round & Fizz Buckets To Share!

Boy oh boy oh boy, was I spoilt rotten today! My support worker, who I haven't seen for quite a long time due to reasons untold, took me to Inverness to get the car sorted for MOT. Before our eventful street silk, we went to a place I haven't been to in months - McDonald's! I could see a reflection of Paddington Bear in the window, and outside the McDonald's building there was a play place and a huge yellow M on the road. My support worker and I had a meal fit for a king - a cheeseburger, some chicken nugs, some French fries and a bucket of Coke!

I had to say, I'm proud of myself for trying that cheeseburger, because it's belch-a-riffic to try something delicious, even with gherkins and lots of little white bits in it. My mum was especially proud of me.
We went to the garage to get the new car while the old one was having the MOT done. I stood near the building like a cool kid, admiring the vintage cars and inflatable snowman decorating the building. I even braved the roads to put my drink cup into the bin. The car felt a bit funny, but it was only for three days so...DIIIBS!
After going to Lidl to get some chocolate muffins since McDonald's was all out of chocolate brownies, I got home to a big surprise - Digimon Adventure Last Evolution Kizuna. It may be heartbreaking for you Digimon fans out there, but to me it warmed my heart and put a gentle smile on my face the whole time, especially near the end where Agumon and Gabumon leave their human partners for good, leading them to start new lives.

It's a shame they never focus more on Gatomon, but she is seen a couple of times throughout the movie, along with characters from Digimon Adventure 02. It hit me more than when Kari lost her during Tri. Then during Our Future, when Kari had that dream involving Wizardmon, my other favourite Digimon, Gatomon just floated into the air and dissolved away like she was going to disappear forever.

Not Gatomon, Toei, you can't do this to Gatomon! Why?! WHY?! And most of all...

....what has Shout Factory done to the future of my Digimon friends?

In response to all this, I created an idea centered around Gatomon, named Gatomon: Last Evolution Alone. In this idea, Kari dies from kidney failure in her own home, leading Gatomon to run away. From there, she is sent wandering the streets where she tries to find her purpose in life without Kari by her side. It seems sad when you think about it, but I always wanted to write a story about Gatomon coping with Kari's death. It gets even more reassuring during 'The End Of Kari', where Kari loses a battle with cancer and Gatomon has to stay with Furaha and her family for a while.

If you or someone you know is experiencing trouble at home, contact Childline, or visit their website at:
And remember, no Digimon is as better friend as Gatomon.

Sorry, Agumon.

Me, You, And Digimon Adventure: Hibernation - Brainstorm #2

Furaha and her friends awaken in the darkness, and Gatomon is lead towards the light. A feather flies around her, and she tries to catch it. When she does, flashes of the future pop up, along with an image of her sinking underwater, with a feather floating down beside her.
