Enid spun the bottle again, this time it pointed to Mildred. "I hope she picks dare for you," whispered Luella into Mildred's ear, "Boy will Miss Hardbroom get the shock of her life!" "Truth or dare?" asked Enid. Luella shook in excitement as Mildred took a moment to decide. Then, she blurted out "Dare!" "Okay," said Enid, "I dare you to go into Miss Cackles' office and perform a silly dance then act like a total chicken in front of Miss Hardbroom!" The girls squealed in delight, and Luella yelled "Yay!" "What? You mean run away from Miss Hardbroom when she's about to turn you into something?" asked Mildred. "Nah-ah, I'm saying you have to act like a bird chicken, not a scaredy cat chicken. Now out you go!" Everyone except Luella pushed Mildred out of her dorm, and Luella followed behind. "Luella, aren't you supposed to be waiting for me?" asked Mildred. "Yes, but we should totally do this dare together in case Miss Hardbroom changes you into a frog. Remember back in A Bad Spell For The Worst Witch, when you were changed into a frog by Ethel?" Mildred's not-so-Vietnam flashback got the best of her, and she was sent running for the hills down the corridor. "Wait!" cried Luella and she dashed down after her towards Miss Cackles' office.
Both teachers were asleep, and they weren't disturbed when Mildred and Luella burst in and landed on top of one another. "Whew, that was close," sighed Mildred, "We almost got stoked." "Here she is," whispered Luella, pointing. "Now, follow my lead." "No, I'll let you follow my lead." whispered Mildred, snagging her by the collar and dragging her towards Miss Cackles' desk, where Miss Hardbroom is sound asleep. Mildred saw her chance. She crept up to the sleeping headmistress and yanked her locket off, placing it round her neck. She then did the silly dance, and you can join in too - it's that simple.
Wiggle about, then pull a funny face.
Jump two times and wave!
Stamp and touch your toes.
Say; "Nah-nah-ne-nah-nah!"
Luella joined in quite frantically, until the locket fell like a pin onto the floor. Miss Hardbroom opened one eye. Mildred threw the locket back onto the desk as she and Luella backed away nervously. "Remember what Enid said about being a total chicken?" she asked. "Er...yeah, what is it?" asked Luella. "We're being ones right now!" The two girls made their way out of here just in time, and when Mildred got back to her dorm she threw herself under the covers, dragging Luella with her in case Miss Hardbroom caught her as well. "So, did the dare go well?" asked Enid. Mildred was whimpering and panicking under the covers. "Not getting a response, am I?" she said in a concerned manner. "Maybe she didn't want the same thing that happened in A Bad Spell For The Worst Witch to happen now," whispered Maud. Mildred and Luella peeped out from under the covers with nervous smiles on their faces. "Don't tell CBBC I embarrassed Miss Hardbroom in the night," she giggled. The girls were ecstatic, and joyful noises filled the room. "Ha! I knew you could do it!" laughed Enid, high-fiving Maud, then Mildred. "It needn't be like A Bad Spell For The Worst Witch now!" "It's all thanks to you, Luella," whispered Mildred, "And why are we sleeping together? We're not lesbian, you know." The excitement stopped in order to let the girls give disgruntled looks on their faces...and then laugh loudly. "You're best friends, not lesbians!" shrieked Ethel, "Lesbian people aren't featured in The Worst Witch, but you guys crack us up like no other!" Mildred and Luella looked at each other in confusion...then laughed along with their friends.
The next morning, Miss Hardbroom got a surprise to see her locket on her desk in front of her, instead of around her neck. "Strange," she said, "I don't recall someone ripping off my locket and throwing it on the desk. Unless....
...MILDRED HUBBLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEE!!!!"
