Napless

As a small baby, I awoke in the middle of the night crying and wailing.

Alan and Tin Tin, whom I was sandwiched in between cosily, awoke to my wails, and the two loving parents both switched on their bedside lamps - Alan’s a warm, inviting yellow, Tin Tin’s a beautiful vinyl mermaid lamp. Both were stark shirtless, Tin Tin without a bra, Alan without a shirt on, and comics roughly decorating his side of the bed.

I was only wearing a soft, clean white nappy. Tin Tin scooped me up and gently cuddled me in her soft, silky bare arms, shushing me quietly in an even-silkier, softer voice, so calm no one else can hear it.

Tired and pretending to be harassed by lack of sleep, Alan piled up all his crumpled comics and threw them with a silent flop into a wash basket full of dirty clothes and smelly underwear - bleaurgh!

Safe in Mama’s arms, I cuddled close to her bare skin and immediately stopped crying, feeling how warm and soft she is.

When Alan turned his attention to the two of us, he smiled, the edges of his mouth trembling from lack of sleep, and cuddled both Tin Tin and me. Oh, how we giggled, as Alan tickled my bare tummy and stroked Tin Tin’s silky black pillow head hair. He was shivering now, inside mad about being woken up, but he knew these days, every parent would have patience for their child.

Luckily, Tin Tin smiled warmly.

“I know just what would keep both my babies warm,” she sighed.

A few moments later, she was cosily massaging me and Alan with some warming vanilla scented baby lotion.

Alan sighed feeling the warming comfort of of the lotion on his cold back, and I giggled in a hushed tone feeling Mama’s slender fingers gently tickle my pure, sensitive skin. I wiggled and squirmed and squealed, and Tin Tin laughed,

“Hold still, my little baby bird.”

No sooner had the lotion been applied to Alan’s bare skin, that instantly he felt warm and comfortable, and a lot less shivery. He stretched his arms like he was a cute little fluffy ginger cat, and rolled over, sprawled out on the bed.

“Oh, Tin Tin, I feel so sandy.” he sighed, giving a yawn and rolling over onto his back like a silly suntanned yellow puppy with brown patches.

There was a long silence. Then, Alan quietly said, as soppily as ever could be:

“WOOF.”

How we all laughed.

Unfortunately, this attracted the attention of his soppy, enormous yellow Labrador puppy, Toby, and Tin Tin had to picked me up and giggle even louder when Alan tickled, stroked and hugged Toby, saying in a cutesy tone like he did to Tin Tin when we all played puppies together:

“Whozagoodoggie?! WHOZAGOODOGGIE?!”

Tin Tin and I joined in, and being a baby, I patted Toby gently, and he licked my tummy, and even kind Tin Tin patted his head and rubbed his tummy, continuously saying:

“You’re so ENORMOUS!”

The laughter and fun continued until the moment our eyes felt so cold, they would turn to ice - that meant, we were all very tired.

That moment, Tin Tin got Timon and Pumbaa’s help to cover me and Alan with a snuggly, thick blue duvet, both of us so sleepy we could hardly dream at all. No sooner than that happened, first Toby, then Tin Tin’s adorable white fluffy kitten, Pearl, leapt onto the bed to snuggle with us, like two small comfort blankets.

Soon, both bedside lights were out, and all three of us were peacefully asleep, warm and cosy once again.

Goodnight.
