Had A Bad Day?

Then you're not alone.
I found this article from Byrdie about what to do on a frustrating day like this, and some of the article's techniques actually worked for me. And trust me, it's not a clickbait piece, it's a real article.

Digging Up The Evidence

Spy Mission Log:

You cannot believe what happened to me today! Digger, Rusty’s older brother, just visited me and my mummy, Sherlock Penelope, to enquire that someone had been beaten to death while admiring paintings in a museum! My god, the things these people in our village do just to get our attention. Lady Penelope went to our favourite hotel, the Chateau Royale, to see the head of my training sessions, Jeff Tracy, who told us that someone by the name of Rocco has been making money by beating people in the audience up during his boxing matches.

Of course, boxing matches are a part of our training here in S.P.Y ‘Quarters. We are taught to be so tough and strong an enemy won’t stand a chance. Our friend Polly Priscole came and asked what she thought of such a violent activity. I thought it GREAT! My mummy? Not so much.

Later, while I was watching mummy apply her makeup, Princess Jasmine arrived and told us about the fate of Toon Disney in the UK. She told us she and the other Disney cartoon characters had to move somewhere nicer because of the channel shutting down, and I drank my glass of milk patiently while I listened to Jasmine talk to mummy about this whole Toon Disney fiasco.

Then, in a matter of circumstances, Jasmine got angry and threw the table over! What a naughty princess, she almost killed me! Then she swore she wouldn’t talk trash about Toon Disney, so Penelope accepted and told her not to screw it all up.

Later that night, Parker drove me and mummy to the train station, where Jasmine was heading. This called for some expert spy skills, so I applied sticky super glue to my hands and began to climb the walls and ceiling like a spider, using my Supersonic Sight Goggles to look out for where she is going. Sherlock Penelope and I followed, and soon we were in a huge bar with a band playing and a boxing ring. As Penelope and I ordered a few martinis, Jasmine came up on the stage, told the band to stop playing their music, and announced to everyone that Disney XD is rubbish! What a negative princess!

Immediately, Penelope told me to leave the room while she reasoned with Jasmine. While I was in the hallway, I discovered pictures of Rocco, star of the Netflix film Fixed, and all the trophies he won because of his nylon and varicose vein-smelling victories. His catchphrase? “Victory is MINE!”

The next morning, mummy and I stopped for coffee and discussed what we’re going to do to stop Jasmine from talking trash about Toon Disney UK. However, Lady Penelope was zoned out and engrossed in a fantasy of frolicking around in a world full of rainbows and unicorns to even noticed Superintendent Plod came in. He sternly reasoned with mummy, telling her he’ll kill Jasmine if she dares turn up in his office again.

So quickly, we took Jasmine’s fancy blue vintage car to the other town, unaware that Superintendent Plod was following us. Then, he took out a gun and shot Jasmine in the arm! Penelope yelled for me to “DO SOMETHING!” so, I quickly got out my shotgun and aimed multiple bullets at Superintendent Plod’s police car, screaming like a MANIAC!

Unfortunately, I can’t tell you any more. Mummy’s calling me for dinner, so I’d best end this entry here. Toodle-oo!

ROLEPLAY: Mr Plod Arrests My Support Worker

Well, it seems like International Rescue have done their job. They have taken our friend's support worker/kidnapper/whatever and locked her in a jailhouse in Australia, where it was rumoured that Coronation Street resident Diedre was locked away, causing protests and riots to free her.
Now, you might be asking me what that white, creamy stuff is on top of the apple pie slices eaten by Noddy, Tessie Bear and Dinah Doll at the beginning of when Noddy organised driving lessons to get an apple tree from Mr Straw's farm. Well, to be honest, it's actually cream - sticky, ooey, vanilla flavoured ice cream. It's actually making me crave rice pudding 'rice' about now! *chuckles to himself*

Mr Plod Vs Angelina Ballerina

Let’s talk about Toyland justice. Specifically, let’s imagine a very surreal but oddly satisfying scenario: Mr. Plod, ever the stickler for order in Noddy’s Toyland Adventures, finally snaps and arrests… Angelina Ballerina.

Yes, that Angelina Ballerina—the little mouse with big dreams of becoming a ballerina star, but also a tendency to turn into a shrieking diva the moment things don’t go her way. While Angelina is meant to be ambitious and determined, let’s not ignore the other side of her: she’s often bossy, endlessly whiny, and throws theatrical fits if even the tiniest detail isn’t to her liking. If someone so much as looks at her the wrong way in rehearsal, it’s curtains down, tantrum up.

Now imagine this playing out in Toyland. Poor Mr. Plod, who’s had his paws full with harmless mischief from Noddy and Bumpy Dog for decades, sees Angelina march in, bossing the other toys around, dictating how everything should go, and then collapsing into melodrama when she’s asked to share the stage or—heaven forbid—wait her turn. At some point, Mr. Plod would probably lift his little blue helmet, sigh deeply, and say, “That’s quite enough of that, young mouse. You’re disturbing the peace.” Click! The handcuffs come out, and off she goes to the Toyland station.

Now before you call me harsh—this is all tongue-in-cheek. But there’s something worth unpacking here. Angelina Ballerina, while supposedly a role model, doesn’t always show the kindest traits to young viewers. She can be inspiring, yes, but she’s also a bit of a steamroller over her friends. Her “my way or the highway” attitude doesn’t exactly scream teamwork or patience.

Now contrast that with Kipper. Kipper the dog, from the gentle, quietly magical world of his own show, is a breath of fresh air. He’s kind, calm, and curious. He never rushes or demands attention. He helps his friends—Tiger, Pig, Arnold—with understanding and creativity. Kipper doesn’t throw tantrums. He doesn’t hog the spotlight. He just is. Kipper is the embodiment of the kind of energy we could all use more of: gentle, flexible, and joyful in life’s small surprises. No bossing, no whining, no drama—just soft-spoken charm and a warm sense of wonder.

In a perfect Toyland, Kipper would visit and bring a little of that quiet magic with him. Mr. Plod wouldn’t need to keep a watchful eye on him. In fact, I imagine Mr. Plod would sit down for a peaceful cup of tea with Kipper, while Angelina Ballerina cools off in a toy-sized holding cell, rethinking her leadership style.

If there’s a lesson here, it’s this: being loud and assertive isn’t always the same as being a good role model. Sometimes the quietest characters have the biggest impact.

And Mr. Plod? He’s just trying to keep Toyland from turning into a diva-filled dance-off. More power to him.

What do you think—are you Team Kipper too?
