Drowsy

Tin Tin opened her eyes heavily, yawning in a way so soft, no one ever heard it but me and my daddy, Alan. Tin Tin had the softest yawns, and hardly snored once, unlike Alan, whose snores are often so loud even Parker falls out of bed.

But still, when he’s had a good day and goes to bed with a smile, he cuddles his pillow and snores in a light way.

Anyway, back to where we are now:

Tin Tin felt like she didn’t want to get up today. When she rolled over, she had bags under her delicate eyes, and they were so heavy she didn’t feel like opening them wide to the early morning sunshine. She held her head, and groaned softly.

She has got a headache, much worse than the ones her father Kyrano gets when being possessed by The Hood, that red light suddenly beaming out of nowhere and making him so hot his skull is about to melt - not really, but that’s just something that happens when The Hood communicates with his half brother.

Anyway, back to now.

I tugged at Alan’s pyjamas, very softly, very carefully, and whispered:

“Daddy, Tin Tin’s too drowsy to get up today.”

Alan yawned and stretched his strong arms. Thank goodness the yellow curtains were still closed, so he took a few minutes to rub the Sandman dust out of his eyes.

“I understand,” he smiled,

“I think we all deserve a moment’s sleep. No rescues today.”

And with that, he gently took Tin Tin and cuddled her near his warming, golden skin in an inseparable, spooning hug.

I joined in too, a little spoon in between the big one and the medium sized one. We all sighed, snuggly safe and cuddled together, like a trio of bears in hibernation.

Alan blew on Tin Tin’s hair, and she giggled as Alan made his fingers dance on her soft, silky shoulders.

“We’re just a family of bears.” reassured Alan in a soft, gentle whisper.

“I’m Papa Bear, you’re a Mama Bear, and she, she, yes she in between us, she’s our little baby bear.”

I think you’re feeling sleepy reading this just now, am I right?

THE END.
