I Saw Luke On Blue Peter!

I saw Luke transform into a werewolf on Blue Peter! Maybe they were promoting the new episodes or...they were encouraging viewers to DO DA MOVES?! Woohoo! Or, I'm not sure I want to say this, because it won't last long...until next time...

R.I.P

So Awkward

2015-2020

We've gathered here today to say goodbye to three socially awkward girls - Martha, Jas and Lily. They were the future of Cranmede High, and an inspiration to teen girls who were living the same lives as them. In 2015, girls all over the UK were in for a treat when the three stars of Cranmede came onto TV screens with their hilarious antics and views on school, boys and homework. It's like Our School meets the 4 O'Clock Club...except without the raps. I know, Lily announced there'll be a series named Still So Awkward on soon, but now let's remember our socially awkward friends. Martha had innocent puppydog eyes and a stuffed animal for every occasion, and you may identify her as the girl who still acts like a child, and encourages us to bring out our inner kid - except you can't act 4. Lily was into science and her knowledge of everything kept us on our feet, as she is well organized and always in control. Finally, Jas is the lazy one and loves to be a party animal! She loves her snacks and animal videos, especially ones about kittens and puppies (tell that to Henry!) and her easy-going, optimistic attitude lightened the series and our lives in times of darkness. Archie Lyndhurst died a few weeks ago, so it's probably best to honor Ollie as well - he and the other boys made the series possible, but we have Martha, Jas and Lily to thank. They may be gone, but our generation will still learn from them.

And you can! Remember them the best way you can by watching So Awkward, Our School and 4 O'Clock Club on iPlayer:

Jas, Martha, Lily...you bring girl power to CBBC like other female main stars of other CBBC shows, and still will. Keep that girl power in your hearts.

Factory's New Showreel!

Factory's new showreel is here, featuring my favourites the Clangers and Scream Street, alongside Norman Picklestripes, Mimi & The Mountain Dragon and a cameo appearance from Elmer!

My Ideal Episode Names For The 'Hood

My ideal episode titles based on these episodes include:
  • Baby Bluey - Tiny Toes
  • Grandad - When Nature Calls
  • Uncle Rad - Hombo Bombo
  • Movies - Picture Night
  • Birthdays - It's My Party
  • Duck Cake - Mucky Paws
  • Muffin - Hog Wild
  • Swim School - Splish Splash
Watch out for Tiny Toes, Hombo Bombo, It's My Party, Mucky Paws and Hog Wild soon! In Mucky Paws, I've decided to make Dig, Lulu, Socks and Kissy Twinkletoes the focus as they learn about handwashing - just perfect for those times. Stay tuned for Mucky Paws and more episodes soon!

Shaun's Cakes

While looking for Shaun The Sheep images to match my imaginary narration from Jim Broadbent for how I envision the series, I found this satisfying recipe for Shaun The Sheep themed cupcakes. Why don't you make them at home?

I.B.F.F Diaries '15 - Part 10: Best Halloween Ever - Nods To Kipper & Other Ideas

On the 15th of October in Part 10 of I.B.F.F Diaries '15, just after Mitchell and his friends meet Luke, Resus and Cleo for the first time, there's a nod to the very first Kipper book as Mitchell, Becky and Templeton try to find them a place to sleep. They try to sleep like ducks, wrens, squirrels, sheep, frogs and rabbits (and a badger!), but, upon sharing a tender moment atop a cliff, they decide the best place for them to sleep is in the Strange Hill High room. They sneak into the Odd Squad room and take the Bed Size-O-Meter, widening the bed to make it big enough for the six of them.
Other ideas for the film include the gang eating lunch under the table so the other CBBC stars can't see Luke and the gang and Resus enjoying the crunching of cucumber sandwiches, preferring them as a much better substitute for blood, and me playing hide and seek with the gang in my room, knowing their secret and promising to keep it.

I.B.F.Fs Anthology Specials

I've decided to work on two I.B.F.Fs anthology specials themed to Christmas and Halloween, each featuring episodes of the series' source materials.

'An I.B.F.Fs Christmas' is set on Christmas Eve. Here, I get too excited to sleep, so the I.B.F.Fs tell me stories of the Christmases they've experienced to help get me to sleep. The segments include 'A Strange Hill Christmas', 'The Grumpus' and 'Christmas Eve'. Mitchell tells the first story, Luke tells the next accompanied by Resus and Cleo and Kipper tells the third and final story.

'I.B.F.Fs: Tales From Scream Street' uses four episodes from the Scream Street series as stories Luke, Resus, Cleo and I tell each other to help each other fall asleep on a spooky night - Halloween. Luke tells the events of 'Mirror Mirror', Resus tells about 'The Brown Lagoon', Cleo tells about 'Lovestruck' and I tell my monster friends the events of 'Light Fingers'. This 44-minute special comforts and reassures young kids who love Scream Street, even when they've read about Luke and his friends in Toybox magazine, that there's nothing to be afraid of on Halloween with your friends around you.

I'll write to Factory and Grand Slam Children's Films to help me with the specials.

Major Changes To Tomorrow

Tomorrow at 1:00PM, since Debbie's not taking me out due to her illness, I'm doing a post right here on this blog spoofing the Grand Canyon advert seen in The Simpsons Movie. I've always wanted to do this since I've moved to Scotland, and this post advertises changes to the Cairngorms, with Tom Hanks once again starring in it. Stay tuned!

The 'Hood: Blueberry Pancakes Teaser

In the tradition of Bluey episodes like Teasing, Chickenrat and Favourite Thing and The 'Hood episodes of a similar nature like Flashbacks, Back To The Beginning and Dinnertime Deja Vu, Izzy comes round to Trafalgar's house on a Sunday to have breakfast. Over blueberry pancakes, they reminisce about the week they've shared together with their gang of friends, from visiting Nanna with Bluey, Bingo, Muffin and Socks to sharing a romantic moment on the beach on an after-school visit...with Rusty and Indy trying to join in on the fun!

While you're waiting, you can find some tasty and fun recipes for blueberry pancakes as well as blueberry muffins:

Try to think of any other blueberry themed recipes to do with your child! And for children, if they want to reminisce about their week like Izzy and Trafalgar, visit this page for printable journal activities:
