A Halloween To Remember [Script]

OPENING TITLE CREDIT: “A HALLOWEEN TO REMEMBER”

INT. SYBIL’S HOUSE - BEDROOM. NIGHT.

Sybil rises into frame and roars loudly. She is wearing a Simba costume. She leaps off the bed and runs about, roaring loudly. An offscreen figure - her mother - comes in, holding a Simba trick or treat bucket.

SYBIL’S MUM

(chuckles)

Alright, calm down, my little wild thing. Are you ready to go trick or treating?

SYBIL

You bet I am.

SYBIL’S MUM

I’ve got your trick or treat bucket all ready.

Sybil’s mum’s hand moves into frame and hands the trick or treat bucket over to Sybil.

SYBIL

Thanks.

SYBIL’S MUM

Now let’s go and get some candy!

SYBIL

Yay!

Sybil follows after her mum out the bedroom door.

DISSOLVE TO:

EXT. STREETS. NIGHT.

Two children dressed as a pirate and a werewolf knock on the door of one house. A kindly neighbour answers and is surprised to see them.

TWO CHILDREN

Trick or treat!

The neighbour hands them some candy.

ZOOM OUT TO:

Sybil and her mum, making their way down the street.

SYBIL

This is going to be so exciting, I can’t wait!

SYBIL’S MUM

I wonder what treats you’ll get, Sybil?

SYBIL

Depends on which house I visit.

Sybil and her mum approach a white house with a thatched roof and a white door. Sybil runs up to it and knocks quickly.

SYBIL’S MUM

Alright, not too quickly.

One of the neighbours, a kindly old woman called Mrs Ada, answers.

SYBIL

RAAAAAARRRRR!!! Trick or treat!

MRS ADA

(chuckles)

Well, if it isn’t young Sybil dressed as a lion.

SYBIL

It’s Simba, actually. The Lion King is my favourite film!

MRS ADA
Mine too. I’ve got some yummy treats lined up for you.

Mrs Ada goes inside to fetch the candy bowl. When she does return, Sybil gets excited. She places lots of candy into her trick or treat bucket, including some Lion King chocolate lollies.

MRS ADA

There now. What do you think?

SYBIL

Wow! Lion King chocolate lollies?! Thanks!

MRS ADA

I’m glad you like them. Happy Halloween!

Mrs Ada shuts the door and goes inside.

SYBIL’S MUM

Well fancy that! Lion King chocolate lollies! What a lucky girl you are.

Sybil giggles. Suddenly, she hears three voices calling:

LUKE/RESUS/CLEO

(O.S.)

Trick or treat!

Sybil looks around and sees three strange yet familiar children - Luke, a normal boy who is actually a werewolf, Resus the (almost) vampire and Cleo the 4,000 year old Egyptian mummy outside a door, being handed treats by the neighbours. Sybil runs up the path just as Luke and his friends are going in her direction.

SYBIL

STOP!

The three stop, and recognise Sybil.

CLEO

Hey, we know you from somewhere.

SYBIL

I know you too. Let me guess…hmmmm…OH! You must be the stars of Scream Street!

LUKE

I’m Luke.

RESUS
I’m Resus.

CLEO
And I’m Cleo. Pleased to meet you.

SYBIL

So…are you actually kids in costume or just real monsters?

RESUS
We’re real monsters actually.

SYBIL

Wow! I have never met real monsters before. Why have you come here?

LUKE

It’s a long story.

SYBIL’S MUM
It’s a pleasure to meet you too. Why don’t you come trick or treating with me and Sybil?

Luke, Resus and Cleo like that idea.

LUKE/RESUS/CLEO

Yeah!/That’s great!/Trick or treating, here we come!

Resus and Cleo head off with Sybil’s mum, while Sybil comforts Luke, who feels so sad.

SYBIL

What’s the matter?

LUKE

I can’t think of my costume for Halloween this year, so I have to go as my normal self.

SYBIL

I’ll find you a costume to wear. But...it’s more natural if you go as yourself. Being yourself is more fun after all.

LUKE

I guess you’re right.

We have a MONTAGE of Luke, Resus, Cleo and Sybil going around various houses, calling out “Trick or treat!” and being given lots of candy. In this montage, we see CLOSE UPS of their candy buckets being filled up.

The montage finishes and Luke, Resus, Cleo, Sybil and her mother arrive back at:

EXT. SYBIL’S HOUSE. NIGHT.

Mum opens the door to let Sybil and her new friends in.

DISSOLVE TO:

INT. SYBIL’S HOUSE - SYBIL’S BEDROOM. NIGHT.

Luke, Resus, Cleo and Sybil are tucking into large amounts of candy they got from each house, including the Lion King lollipops.

Story Break

I feel half-asleep today because of taking a nap, so I had time to relax, and learn that it's important to take a break every now and again. Sometimes I went back to bed, but Mum said it wasn't an illness, it was just that Key were short staffed and Ben wasn't able to take me out. This is why I didn't feel like doing stories, because I'm a big fact jerk! Just kidding, I felt tired and didn't have enough time. Hopefully tomorrow I will. I also saw The Wonderful Summer Of Mickey Mouse, an animated special where Mickey and his friends cause havoc during the annual fireworks display. I must say, everything that Mickey does can't happen in real life, but let me assure you: it's not like the Wonderful Winter or Wonderful Spring specials, where Mickey and his friends are depicted in a variety of different scenarios. I prefer it if Mickey went to the beach, was a hot dog seller and had a party on board a cruise ship.

I had some quality time with Mum and Grandma in the living room, where I confessed that I would like the get the Horrid Henry joke books for Christmas, and Mum got excited seeing Darth Vader in a Hawaiian shirt, which means that Lego Star Wars Summer Vacation is on my list of wonderful and exciting things occurring throughout the next three months:
The Book Of Pooh
Bluey Season 2 On CBeebies
Scream Street's Petrifying Puzzles & Terrifying Trivia Books
There's only two weeks to go until The Book Of Pooh, four weeks to go until Bluey Season 2 on CBeebies, and three months to go until the new Scream Street books, not to mention four weeks to go until Lego Star Wars Summer Vacation. Late 2022 is going to be AWE-SOMMMMMMMMMME! As Penfold said during his gameplay of Danger Mouse Full Speed Extreme Turbo.

Mum encountered a problem with my stories - someone might hack into Google Docs and see my stories, so instead of using a code to get them online, I put them on my blog starting this month. At first I said to Mum that I never did this before, but then I said that I have did it before, with Cocoa Babysitter and Morning Bliss. This was a great idea, and so I got to work. This helped my tired brain, and...now I feel half-asleep again!

The Wonderful Summer Of Mickey Mouse

I'm taking a break from my stories today. I now realise it's important to take breaks occasionally, and that some days don't rely on stress and stories. That goes for Mickey Mouse too. He has quite a job at Disney, trying to remember all the things he mustn't forget - wandering around theme parks, shooting films, making visits for the Make A Wish Foundation...name all you want, that won't stop him from making The Wonderful Summer Of Mickey Mouse.

Now, Meet The Spartans, a hilariously random film about a Spartan king, was originally going to premiere here, but it was a bit too rude for my Simba profile, so I watched this randomly wild cartoon about a mouse who defies cartoon logic to have fun with his friends. They ruin the annual firework display, and each tell their story, trying to get to the fireworks display via boat, helicopter, car and even Scrooge McDuck's party boat. When they were remaking the fireworks show, I have a few questions to ask: how can you clean food? It'll be poisoned if you eat it! How can your bum suddenly get chopped off when you're doing sawing? If Mickey Mouse were about poo and bottoms, it'll be completely unnatural. Don't worry, Donald's bum gets re-attached soon. Mickey also uses ketchup and mustard to make fireworks, and some of it goes on the crowd's hot dogs - and all over their faces.

I was originally expecting it to have three segments, like the previous Wonderful Winter and Spring anthologies - Mickey would visit the beach with his friends, become a hot dog seller and have a party on board a cruise. Shame it had to turn into a full length story, but still, when Lego Star Wars Summer Vacation premieres on Disney+ in a few weeks, it'll be Finn's time to shine.

Have a spectacular Summer!

A Halloween To Remember (Formerly I'll Always Protect You)

At first, I was going to do a story about broken friendships set on Halloween week 2021, named I'll Always Protect You, but as I sat through precious time, an idea formed: I'll do a story based around how I met Luke, Resus and Cleo. It's set at Halloween 2015, where I go out in my Simba costume with my mum and my Simba trick or treat bucket to go trick or treating, but I find three strange kids going trick or treating too. The kids notice me and introduce themselves as Luke, Resus and Cleo. I decide to let them come along with me on my trick or treat trek, and when we get home, they explain their full backstory to me. Mum decides to let them stay with me, and we are treated to a hot bath and a warm drink by the fire. Some Halloween stories are shocking and spooky, but not my ones. They're heartwarming and friendly, and I bet monsters would become your friends too!

I'm taking a break from writing at the moment, so I'll bring you this heartwarming Halloween story sometime soon - and remember, sitting and waiting is the most important thing, even in Precious Time!
