Once, in an ancient kingdom in China, there lived a beloved king and queen and their daughter, Furaha. Furaha’s parents loved her very much, and they spent a lot of time together. Every day was very happy…until that day in August.
One day, the king and queen received a letter from the state that they were no longer Furaha’s parents, and that they had to be sent away to a hospital to be sacrificed. They were too worried to even say their goodbyes to Furaha, but on that rainy evening, they said their farewells to Furaha as best as they could. “But you can’t leave. You’re my parents!” “No, we’re not. Not any more.” said the king. “But you need to know that we love you, no matter what. The only one who can care for you now is the stone spirit of Orko, an ancient wizard.” He handed Furaha a scroll with a spell written on it. “Say this spell, and he will be unleashed from his stone tomb.”
The king and queen turned around and left. They said their ‘I love you’’s, and the door shut before little Furaha. Taking the scroll under her arm, she went through the palace hallways to a huge green door with dragon patterns carved on it. She fingered the ancient patterns gently, then swung open the door - there, before her, was the Pool Of Spirits, and before her, was the stone statue of Orko, standing spiritual and ancient like he had suffered this for many years. Furaha knelt before the statue and prayed, reciting from the scroll:
“For what’s about to be unleashed,
May you be truly grateful to see.
Orko will protect you now on
Until your spirit’s dead and gone.”
