Escape From No.6
Scream Street, From Frankie & Benny's
Torchlight
“Mum, can we sleep in your bed with you?” Resus asked, holding my little hand tight as we entered Resus’ parents room. I was still feeling a little restless, but Resus was there for me. Being my big brother, we just had to exit the bedroom we call our comfy and quiet resting place and sleep in Resus’ parents bedroom just for a change. “Wha….what?” asked Alston as he sat up. “What’s going on?” yawned Bella as she sat up too. “It’s Sybil,” said Resus, “She’s having trouble getting to sleep. She thinks she hears spooky noises outside the window.” Alston and Bella looked at each other in concern. Then Bella said, “It’s alright, little one. Come and sleep with us.” “One bad dream means more rest near us for you,” said Alston.
We settled into bed beside Alston and Bella. I snuggled right up next to Resus’ mother’s warm bosom, while Resus snuggled right up next to his father. Best of all, they didn’t bite. They just nuzzled us and kissed us goodnight. I yawned and snuggled beside my big brother, feeling safe with three friendly vampires by my side. I once kissed Resus and he giggled under his breath. But in my head, a dream was brewing….
In my dream, I was as small as an ant as I climbed up the side of the bed using a rubber band. I slipped a few times, but I managed to climb up to the base of the bed. Once I’ve adjusted myself, I wandered around the bed looking for more discoveries. Suddenly, I spotted a pair of ginormous pale feet right in front of me. They were Bella’s feet. I felt the walls of my discovery - they were very soft, yet very smooth. I decided to climb up the right foot and look out over the new world. I climbed, and I climbed, and I climbed, my bare feet touching the soft skin of the walls of the flesh-filled climbing frame. Suddenly, Bella’s foot jerked, and I was sent falling! But I managed to climb on tight, and keep on going.
At last, I climbed up in between Bella’s toes and looked around. Her toenails seemed to be painted a lavish blood red. I looked further into the distance. A whole world was waiting for me, and it stretched out over the bed, underneath the duvet covers. Excited, I slid down the front of Bella’s foot and onto her leg. It lead out into a field of pure black silk (that’s Bella’s pyjamas). I took one little step and it was as soft as Bella’s smooth feet. I wandered across the black field, my bare hands and feet touching the soft, silky strands. I tried balancing, making sure I’m on the leg bone which was barely visible underneath Bella’s skin, right under her pyjamas.
Suddenly, I was confronted with a big knobbly bit right in the centre of the field (that’s Bella’s knee). The knobbly hill was so big compared to how tiny I was.
