  3. Write about whatever you want, such as tooth fairies, chocolate cakes, fat cats and more

  4. Understand that wee & poo are what young kids love and find hilarious (remember Pingu weeing on the floor?)

  5. Try to find a target audience for your stories or poems

  6. Poems are plotless stories

  7. Unleash your inner Wordsworth

  8. The target audience you will write for will become your biggest fans

  9. Try to figure out what your poems are aimed for

  10. Celebrate every achievement and fear with pride

Chigadaging

WARNING:
This song from Rough Guide To World Playtime is really addictive - it's like a playful romp through a Hawaiian village, or going out to play with Lilo & Stitch, or even better...travelling the world.

Remember that Incredible India advert where a man writes about his adventures and scenes are shown of his Indian romp around the country? Well, what I see in my head is just like that, but instead of live action, it's live action AND animation mixed together.

Remember Roger Rabbit and Chip N Dale? It's just like that.

Picture this: Furaha and Orko. Two little globetrotters who travel around the world riding on rickshaws, walking across the villages and streets, trying new foods and engaging in new and exciting activities. If you don't think about The Story Makers long enough to see these images of these little globetrotters enter your head, then consider yourself lucky. Mind you, I really think those Tales From Far Away in The Story Makers are adapted from ancient folk tales, myths, parables and fables that'd make children who were watching in 2002 understand the concept of world culture and moral values - I mean, the Tales From Far Away story featured in the VHS 'Park' was a shadow puppet story of a donkey, narrated by Milton himself....

You never know where they may end.

Cradle Hammock

In Penelope’s garden,

In the heat of the day,

Penny and I sleep

While the butterflies play

Their wings whoosh on the breeze

The sounds of nature gently call

The tsst of a sprinkler is heard feintly

Dampening the garden wall

I snuggle next to Penelope

My big sister and best friend

She had sworn to protect me

Until her life must end

The butterflies flutter around us

A peaceful lot they are

Where are all the exotic ones?

They must be very far

A butterfly suddenly lands on my nose

My eyes shoot open in alarm

But they’re just insects, so who cares?

Butterflies do no harm

Peering out of the hammock, I see

Leaves falling from the trees

One lands right on my nose

It seems nature has a landing place - me!

I try to shake Penelope awake

So she could see for herself

But suddenly the hammock tips over,

And both of us fall with no harm to ourselves

We laugh and laugh in happiness

Then cuddle and nose-kiss

When you have a sister like Penelope,

Life is totally bliss!

I always love days like this

When Penelope and I play together

Friends always look out for each other

No matter how sunny the weather.

Eddsworld - Fan Service 2

Hey guys,
Recently I had a big meltdown about not getting friends, but now it's time I exposed the truth about why I had this huge screaming fit in the process:

Months ago, before I changed, I had this enormous screaming fit right here at Key, making my friends cry and even belting out the F word right then and there, causing my support worker to drag me out screaming and kicking. This has to be the worst day of my life, and lost me the friends I trusted from the moment I left my annoying school. It made me think my life here in Scotland is getting really cruddy, even when the pandemic hit, I lost my friends. I was fine with it before, but now I feel really scared and upset.

So, to all my fans, I would like to thank you all for visiting my blog. You have all shown some wonderful support even without commenting, through all the meltdowns and tantrums I've had from day 1 in my new life. All this yelling and screaming lost me some friends - if I DID have a fight at school, I'd turn into a criminal. But you guys always support me, even if I don't know you...because....because....*sniff*...I love you all.

As a way of saying thank you, here's a little clip of Matt from Eddsworld reacting to a weird fanfiction of Edd, Tom and himself he was sent in the mail by one of his fans.

Children's TV On Trial 1960s

At last!
Lady Penelope and friends - EXPOSED!
In this video, you can find out about kids' TV in the '60s, and see all the groovy psychedelica that leads us from one show segment to the next.

Be warned that this video contains footage from the most upsetting Thunderbirds episode ever made, The Perils Of Penelope, which sees my best Thunderbirds friend in a dangerous situation which will leave many fans of her in tears. In fact when I saw the first half of it after writing Missing Sisterhood the day before, I immediately gave up on watching it because of how emotional the story is - the young man punching me in the face, the bad dream of Penelope being consumed by demons, and Parker's story of his childhood friend Johnny and how he can see the moon to remind himself he is always there for him.

Luckily, other shows covered during the programme include:
Play School
Blue Peter
Trumptonshire
Tom & Jerry
The Magic Roundabout
Clangers.

Enjoy the show!

Chicken Soup For The Soul: Angels All Around: Angel Soup

An app based on Australian aboriginal and ancient Chinese culture, inspired by the story in Chicken Soup For The Soul named 'Angel Soup'. In the story, a girl named Marya is visited by a lady who claims to have stayed with her to play Go Fish, show her card tricks and sing in a different language. By playing with this sensory app, you'll learn about Australian aboriginal and ancient Chinese culture through a series of soothing games such as:

  • Playing Go Fish (there's a 2 or 3 player mode, too)

  • Learning words in Chinese and Australian aboriginal language

  • Interacting with some Brother Bear-like spirits in the lights in the sky

  • Finding out what your spirit animal represents to you with special tarot cards the lady produces from her bag

  • Using a magic powder to send Marya to the spirit land and transform her into different Chinese or Australian animals

You'll also get to do some breathing exercises and draw your own animal spirit to see come alive in the spirit land.

Sarah & Friends: Sarah & Penelope's Quiet Time

In the Creighton-Ward Mansion, Penelope and I have a place where we can go to indulge in a bit of 'us time' when not out on missions. It is called the 'Quiet Room', where there is a huge bed in the middle of the floor for us to sleep on, as well as a bath and some spa equipment in this huge room. This quiet, soothing sensory app will invite users to join me and Penelope in a bit of quiet time if they've had a hectic or rough day. Activities include:

  • Breathing along with me and my bear, Pink Teddy

  • Touching the still, pristine waters of a lake in Africa

  • Listening to lullabies while watching me and Penelope sleep

  • Listening to a comforting mindfulness story involving the senses

  • Watch some soothing scenes involving me and Penelope indulging in a quiet spa session

Great for wind down time. The lullaby mode also has two modes: 10 minutes or 20 minutes, or you can watch it in full. Plus, the app has no adverts or in app purchases, making it more simple for those seeking a bit of tranquil relaxation.
