Luna Locks

Uncle Rad and Frisky have just returned home from their trip to Ibiza - a trip which had given them much to reflect upon since their wedding, and a new emphasis on which to lead their lives. But once they returned home to the cosy wide bungalow they rented after their honeymoon, Uncle Rad completely forgot they had lost the key in a drain during a visit to a club to dance to all the hippest tunes, and now they cannot open their bright red front door.

“Aw, biscuits, it’s shut!” groaned Uncle Rad, as if he had a headache from too much scotch beer from their holiday.

“How in the name of my Great Aunt Annie am I going to open the door?”

He kicked it, pushed it, twisted the knob and even tried to do what his brother Bandit did and pull the door apart as if it were a House For Sale sign, but still it won’t budge. But then, Frisky had all the answers.

“I know. I think I can call Princess Luna! I have her contact on my phone.”

One phone call and one minute of waiting later, in a puff of dark blue starry smoke, Princess Luna arrived.

“Hooray!” cheered Uncle Rad and Frisky in chorus, like Bluey and Bingo when they had a small achievement, like when they finally completed a game of Shadowlands.

“Never fear, Princess Luna is here,” smiled the Princess Of The Night, “If I insert my horn into the lock of the door and recite a door opening spell, I will unlock your door and let you in in no time at all.”

“Thank god,” smiled Uncle Rad, “I feel much better with you around.”

“So do I,” smiled Frisky, as Luna inserted her big sharp blue horn into the door. She cleared her throat and began to recite her door opening spell:

“Once I’ve finished with my spell,

The door will open ever so well.

Lock and key, listen to me.

Send this couple in for tea!”

BOOM! The result was a bit of chaos, but it was also a sign of victory too. The door exploded into tiny pieces with a burst of blue smoke and shiny white sparkles, and all that was left was a large piece of red painted wood from the door stuck to Princess Luna’s horn.

“Thanks, Princess!” smiled Uncle Rad. “Now we can finally have something to eat. I’m peckish.”

“You sure are.” smiled an embarrassed Luna, “Mind if I have a vegemite and cheese baguette?”
