10 Ideas To Celebrate Lego Day
Christmas: A Postcard To Orko
Dear Orko,
I’d never forget that one Christmas. We were all helping to decorate the tree, and I decided to wrap you up in tinsel. Then Rocky, my dog, came along and pulled the tinsel, causing you to spin across the room like my good friend Taz! You felt dizzy after that, but my parents thought it was hilarious. I hope we have more Christmases like this. Which reminds me: I’ve been having the same dream in the last few nights that we’re huddled together in this great big forest, alone. You were snuggled close to my body, and I was happy feeling your warmth on my fur. I’ve seen this once on a programme named Walking With Dinosaurs, and yet huddling together in a warm temperatured forest can help us connect and bond with each other. I remember one time we went camping and we tried to count the stars together. You felt like you wanted to lie down and look at them closely, so I joined you. By the way, this morning I read comics about your adventures on Eternia with your so called ‘friends’, and you were ignored, even when a guy called ‘Man At Arms’ became destructive and violent. I get it, he was more abusive to you than anyone else on your homeland, I’m told, but I heard at a meeting once that Eternia is not safe for you, and that Earth is your proper home. Appreciate that you are able to live a happy life with me, Kiburi, Ua and Rocky under one safe roof. You deserve it, Orko, because you are a gifted and special wizard.
Love,
Your sister,

Stars: A Postcard To Orko
Dear Orko,
Thank you for inviting me to come outside onto the beach near my home and look at the stars tonight. We could see lots of Constellations, but I saw you crying. When I asked you what was wrong, you started talking about a guy called He Man and his ‘friends’ who used to abuse you and beat you up. I started crying too, because I didn’t want to see you all beaten and bruised by your so-called ‘friends and enemies’. But then, I kept a stiff upper lip and told you that you are never coming back to see that stupid He Man ever again. Today I helped my parents do some gardening, while you used your magic to make scissors come to life and trim the hedges into different shapes. Pretty great stuff, right? Mmmm, it is. I remember one time I found you washed up on the beach because the crew of the Good Ship Eternia threw you overboard because they hated you. I loved our time there. We scavenged for shells and splashed freely in the water. Then there was another time when we were in Africa, and we met a real baby elephant with a tickly trunk which made us laugh. Kiburi said we were just making up stories - but that’s what we like to do best, you and me, tell stories and act them out through the best part of life - play. You haven’t played since those warlords in Eternia forced you to do all the heavy work. I can see the bruises and scars on your hands now. They will get time to heal. I’ll always be your sister. Forever and always.
Love,
Your sister
