Lucky Day Time - WAHEY!

You'll never guess what happened today in a million little years!

Number 1: my photos on GMaps showing others my experiences at Mama Gail's - the sweet shop which won so many awards - got 50 views! Can you believe it?! Now more people are coming to see the shop more than ever, and I'm giving the shop more awards! If I can allow them to.

Number 2: Everyone at Anderson Entertainment was so pleased with how I reviewed Supercar, that they gave me a FREE DISCOUNT! Wow and wow again and great and even greater! And what did I buy? STINGRAY! The book, titled 'Project Orca'.

But....

Please, do not launch into an Aqua Marina singsong.

Anyway,
Number 3: About yesterday, despite my hissy fit over no biscuits, the MLP news site Equestria Daily saw my photos of my My Little Pony DVD finds at T T Retro, and responded, calling it "Cool!"

I'm in the brony fam,
Just like cheese and ham,
I'm digging a ditch but now I am rich,
I am a pegasister now!

And speaking of the army, here's Applejack with the tale of how she won the war! Take it away, Jackie!

When I See My Matriarchal Leader Taking After The Junk Ads On Talking Pictures TV...

A Supermarionation Beauty Talk

You see the video you're watching right now? This is a movie trailer for a cel-shaded Korean animated movie named Beauty Water, a cautionary tale about the horrors of appearance and body image.

I have to admit that this movie is offensive to anyone who is body-shamed, so to all of you who's ever been offended by this film or any scenes in Peppa Pig which include fat shaming, I understand that you must turn away from these series at all costs, and turn to series which promote positive body image and appearance, namely DK's 'A Kids' Book About...' series, which focuses on serious issues like all this and more dedicated to the wellbeing of kids in the country where the publishing house is set up.

But now, I'm going to touch upon a point where everything goes to click: Gerry Anderson and his puppet shows. Shows like Supercar, Fireball XL5, Stingray, Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet and Joe 90 all prove, I'm sad to say, that in order to find real beauty within yourself, you need to have strings attached to you - by all the strings the characters are attached to, I meant cosmetic surgery, heavy exercise and amounts of stingy face cream.

But one show, The Secret Service, switches from puppets to real life sometimes, which proves that in order to embrace your appearance and your body, you must release yourself from the strings you're attached to.

So while we love all of Gerry Anderson's puppet shows for the timeless classics they are today, it goes to prove that we all have to cut those strings that are controlling us off and be happy with how we are modelled and shaped to be today, whether big and huge or thin and healthy.

Real beauty is go!

A Picnic With Supercar

Dear journal,

The Supercar team invited me on a picnic in the countryside today. I always loved going on picnics, because there's always lots of bananas to share between me, Mitch the monkey and his best friend, young Jimmy Gibson.

While we walked, I lead everyone in a jolly sing song of 'The Grand Old Duke Of York', just like Kipper did when it was Arnold's birthday party and they had to find the missing tape. Then we settled on a perfect, peaceful picnic spot and laid out the food. It was so delicious your jaw will drop off. There were ham, egg and cheese sandwiches, strawberry ice cream, fruit salad, chocolate cake (my favourite!) and especially Mitch's favourite - a whole stack of bananas! Once we tucked in, I immediately forgot about all my worries and shared my food with Mitch and Jimmy. I also happened to catch a glimpse of Mike Mercury's relationship with Dr Beaker - they shared a sandwich the same way Lady and Tramp shared spaghetti famously. When Jimmy, Mitch and I saw that, we went "Ooooooooo!" That was the sign of their relationship growing stronger.

After lunch, we all took a nap in the warm sunshine. However, Mitch saw a tree nearby and wanted to climb it. Jimmy and I joined him, and soon we were on the highest branch of the tree, pretending to be monkeys like Mitch was. What a fun picnic! I hope I have another one someday soon!

Cheer Up, Captain Scarlet

Dear journal,

I went for a walk by myself in town near the beach today. It was crowded with people - black, white, yellow and brown - and all the grownups were sunbathing on the beach, while the children were playing in the sea or building sandcastles.

I went to order myself a Subway cheese and ham sandwich, and that was all I could afford to do before I saw Captain Scarlet sitting alone, feeling very sad. I went to comfort him, and he told me it was his last day on Talking Pictures TV. He couldn't bare to see him and his friends slowly go away from the channel, as they have loved it so much and Captain Scarlet was to leave next weekend, leaving room for Supercar and Supercar only in its lineup.

I felt sorry for him, so I offered him half of my sandwich. Immediately, we tucked in, and I could tell that Captain Scarlet cheered up on the double, because he showed his teeth - something any Supermarionation puppet can rarely do - which had cheese and ham in between each gap. I began laughing so hard. Captain Scarlet began laughing too, swallowing every morsel of cheese and ham stuck between his teeth in between every chuckle and giggle. In fact, we were laughing so hard we fell onto the sand and our laughter faded as we shared a hug. Captain Scarlet always knows I'm here to cheer him up if sad events haunt him...or so the Mysterons think.

Fanderson - On This Day - August 5th

Today is a very important day in the history of Gerry Anderson. And why do I say 'important'? Well, because there's Space Precinct, Thunderbirds, Granada broadcasting Joe 90 for the final time, and Gerry Anderson appearing on The Extra Ordinary People Show! How cool is that?

Fanderson - On This Day - August 2nd

You probably know that by now the new Thunderbirds Blu Ray is released in the UK, but Mitch here is very excited because today marks a few years since Supercar premiered on UTV in Northern Ireland. And you know how excited Mitch gets when he hears an Irish English accent, don't you, Mitch?
"Ooo ooo ooo ooo oooo oooo!"

Fanderson - July 31st

Well, would you believe it? It's been years now since the Tracy brothers' wild adventure which doesn't somehow involve Lady Penelope aired in the crazy old world of Japan. And in a somewhat miraculous turn of events, Japan loves marionettes. Because....well, marionettes.

Also, Supercar aired in the UK on this day. Supercaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-WEHEEE!

Fanderson - July 30th

It was a boring day in the UK. Because now Supercar is going to be the only Supermarionation series on TV, back in the day Supercar was the only good Supermarionation series that aired on this day, while we got Twizzle and Turcheh. The lucky people overseas had Fireball XL5 and Captain Scarlet. And of course on this day, another exciting thing happened: Lady Penelope went to the Odeon to promote the then new Thunderbird 6. It was the only cool thing that happened today. I wish more cool thi-hang on, I do scrapbooking, right? YES!

Thunderbird 3 At The Zoo

5...4...3...2...1! ROOOOOAAAAARRR!
ALAN: "Hey, is this because I went to the zoo years ago with Doctor Barnados?"
Come on, Alan, you know you've been to the zoo before I was born. It has everything in it! Penguins, lions, tigers and lots of others! By the way, is there any room for a roar during the Thunderbirds opening tune?
