10 Ideas For When You've Done Your Exercise In The Garden

Lemme guess: you've just walked 5 times around the garden - like a teddy bear - and you suddenly develop tremendous amounts of pain from helping your mum move the bench or walking around the garden reciting 'Five Minutes Peace'. You've got your Exercise Badge. It's a kind of pain inside your body that signals you're losing weight. Now it's time to relax. Here are 10 ideas for relaxing after a time in the garden:
10.Watch something fun on TV.
If you're bored of real TV channels and their endless adverts, try some streaming services like Disney+, Netflix and Amazon Prime. If you're suffering from pain, try watching relaxing/kids' series like Llama Llama, Alien Xmas, Robin Robin, Zenimation, Rex The Runt and Star Wars: Galaxy Of Sounds, plus some fun animated movies. Don't let grown up, gritty stuff take over your life!
9.Take a drink
Water keeps us hydrated and healthy. My mum told me that milk contains sugar, and oh my god, imagine such a sweet drink containing sugar - COW'S BLOOD SUGAR! Water can be sweet if you put your mind to it, whether sweet or not. Without water, we would get cramps, collapse and feel less active in our lives. Be glad we had water!
8.Work on a Pinterest board
Ah, yes, adding some nice pictures onto Pinterest boards can be a great way to express the things you love more clearly. Whether you have one Pinterest page or more, you can be sure that you can add some nice pictures of Care Bears, Strawberry Shortcake, bunnies, flowers and kittens into your boards - something nice. Yes. Something nice.
7.Draw your Exercise Badge.
What does your Exercise Badge look like? All I know is that it looks like a purple badge with a yellow cross in the middle. You can draw your own should you experience the same pain I'm feeling. It's stabbed into your flesh and encouraging you to keep fit more...and relax.
6.Write a letter to your favourite TV character.
You know, in The Tigger Movie, Tigger wrote a letter to his family and then waited ages past Winter for it to arrive...and then his friends sent him a letter, leading to the earworm-inducing 'Round My Family Tree'. Then there's the beginning scene in MLP: A New Generation where Sunny, with the help of her dad, writes a letter to the unicorns and pegasi outside of Maretime Bay to come and visit them, resulting in Izzy coming to meet the orange equine peacemaker years later. Well, I've written a letter to Orko in the voice of my character Furaha two times today and yesterday, and there's no way you should too! Whether it's to a Dreamworks favourite, a Disney friend or a childhood favourite, you can't expect a reply, but in your heart, your friends are sure to enjoy it.
5.Name three things you're thankful for.
Gratitude is EVERYWHERE these days, so it's no wonder you should be grateful for the things you have, like I have my toys, my dog and my creative spirit. So, I advise you do the same - take out a piece of paper and list three things that you are thankful for. You'll 'thank' me later.
4.Read a book.
There are lots of exciting books you can read, whether kids' or sci-fi. My top 5 reads include Maisy, Kipper, Scream Street, Barbara Ann Kipfer books and Horrid Henry, among others - if some books, like The World According To Humphrey, Born To Run and books by David Baddiel, are annoying, put them away and move onto another great read.
3.Listen to an audiobook.
If you're taking an afternoon nap and want someone to read you a story like your mum read to you during bedtime, then listen to a story from Audible. Right now I'm listening to three different audio titles: The Boy With One Name, Boy 23 and The Girl With All The Gifts. Let's just say The Girl With All The Gifts is like a zombie apocalypse version of The Promised Neverland. In the meantime, there are nicer reads like Kipper, The Magic Faraway Tree and Tracy Beaker, all read by famous actors. Much better than a CBeebies Bedtime Story, am I right?!
2.Watch videos on Youtube.
They're sick, they're funny, they'll make you go off your dinner, but some are really pleasant to watch - and listen to. From world music to classic cartoons and extracts from TV channels from the '90s, 2000's and '80s, there's something for everyone on Youtube...just mind out for videos that are sad, or videos that trick you into thinking they're kids' videos. They're SICK.
1.Look out your window.
After an afternoon walk, nothing beats looking out of your bedroom window at the world. Looking out at all that's going on is a mindful activity that'll soothe your mind and help the pain in your side go. When you want to look at a TV screen or a phone screen, the windows are more important because of what you can see out there, such as wildlife, people and more. You'll become a nature observer in no time!
