10 Shows On Netflix For Kids & Parents To Enjoy Together

10.Chip & Potato
In this colourful series, a little pug named Chip starts kindergarten for the first time and learns new experiences with the help of her secret mouse friend Potato. It's a bit like Woolly & Tig, but animated, and parents can use this to teach children about new experiences they'll get used to with the help of these two lovable characters.
9.My Little Pony: Make Your Mark
This is a follow up to Friendship Is Magic, and follows Sunny and her menagerie of pony friends as they work together to bring the magic of friendship back to Maretime Bay and stop Opaline from stealing all the magic in Equestria. Parents can talk with their children about how each pony is feeling in each scene, and why friendship is more magical than actual magic. It can even help children develop the skills they need to make friends.
8.Giant Jack
A gentle, slow-paced CGI series from former Disney director Glen Keane about a gentle lug of a dump truck and his animal friends. They are all friends with a gentle little boy, and they play not just at home but in a majestic natural paradise where they are free to run and play together. Parents, I think you would use Giant Jack along with Llama Llama as perfect pre bedtime viewing - much better than CBeebies' less restful bedtime lineup, I assure you!
7.Yes Day
With this crazy live action film, parents can engage in conversations with their kids, whether young and old, about what they would do if they were to have their own Yes Day. In this film, we meet a mum and dad who say no to their kids' requests all the time, and become recommended by their teacher to give them a Yes Day. With good grades, lots of cleaning up and household chores, Yes Day is abound! Imagine the possibilities - dressing mum and dad up, eating ice cream, doing an obstacle course, and according to Netflix, lots of dangerous behaviour. Don't try this at home, kids!
6.Rilakkuma & Kaoru
Also perfect for pre bedtime viewing, this one has a 12 rating and is made with stop motion. With slow paced fantasy sequences, lovable characters and an even slower pace, Rilakkuma's on screen debut will appeal to not just people at 12, but people younger than 12 too, who will love Rilakkuma's love for laziness and food and his timeless messages. The ways Rilakkuma and his friends bring forth the 'Netflix Original Series' message at the beginning of every show will crack you up.
5.Barbie: Life In The Dreamhouse
Those who grew up playing Barbie would maybe have kids of their own, so it's most likely that they'll use this series to introduce the world of Barbie to their generation. Told in a reality show style, it'll appeal to anyone who adores girly pink stuff and will introduce children to friendship and loyalty problems...especially boys.
4.My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic
I saw this on the Netflix 'Who's Watching' screen alongside He Man: Revolutions, and while the He Man series aren't suitable for kids at all, except the 2021 CGI version, this is still a sweet and charming animated series following the adventures of Twilight Sparkle and her friends going around Ponyville exploring friendship and diversity and tolerance. Ponies are ready and willing to accept everyone! Maybe your child will learn about friendship too!
3.Not Quite Narwhal
Not quite as similar to My Little Pony, Not Quite is the story of a curious little unicorn who's been living underwater his whole life and emerges on dry land to discover a whole world of his kind - unicorns. Some stories are set underwater, some stories are set on land, giving the stories a set of diverse backgrounds for the characters to play around in and for kids to explore with their families.
2.Waffles + Mochi
Who better than cuddly puppets to teach you about good food and nutrition? Cuddly characters join Michelle Obama in making good food that'll be better than cooking ice cubes in an ice cream filled world made out of food. This series will make you quite hungry, but the talking shopping equipment will make you quite shocked and creeped out. Well, it is a puppet series after all.
1.Llama Llama
A sweet and gentle TV series for preschoolers that deserves to have a top spot on the list because of its positive messages, simple animation and properly designed characters. Based on the rhyming series of picture books, this series is designed to appeal to preschoolers as well as adults. Well, they do desire to watch the series after dark you know! Each episode focuses on a moment of a preschooler's life according to a plucky little llama and his friends, and the relationship he forms with his mother. How sweet...!
