Oh, so it must be Penelope!

Paradise

Whilst waiting for my mum to arrive so I can talk about the less stressful activity of doing poetry instead of stories, I decided to upload my poem 'Paradise' onto Youtube. I wonder what Thunderbirds fans would think if they heard about Penelope and me roaming freely in a paradise hidden away from society, discovering the secrets and wonders of nature?

Okay, here's the truth: the thing is, my favourite Bible story is the first one, the tale of Adam & Eve. You see, God created Adam, and asked him to name all the animals, saying the land is now his to care for and protect. Everything was given to him. But Adam felt lonely, so God created a woman to be his loving wife and companion. He told them that they can eat from any tree in the garden, except the Tree Of The Knowledge Of Good & Evil. For on the day they eat of it, they die. Life was happy, until Eve encountered...the serpent. DUN DUN DUUUUUUNNN!!

The serpent forced Adam and Eve to eat from the Tree Of Knowledge, and then God was really angry at them. He banished all three of our heroes from the garden, cut off the serpent's legs and forced our two first humans to eat from the ground. YUCK! Is THAT where our food comes from?! Still, in nature, there's no need for clothing. We're all free, and nature is a cradle of love and happiness - especially for me and Penelope. You can take the girl out of nature, but you can't take nature out of the girl.

Paradise

Somewhere in nature hidden away

In this beautiful paradise we play

Penelope and me, a motherly Eve

Discovering secrets nature lets us believe

Splashing in water cool and inviting

No insects in this paradise, no biting

Fruit of all kinds, tempting and sweet

Wearing no clothes from our heads to our feet

Relaxing in the cool shade of the tree

Climbing its boughs wild and carefree

Playing with the animals that roam this land

Walking together hand in bare hand

And when the night comes and the moon and stars shine

Everyone knows that to us, it's bedtime

A time when we snuggle in the shade of the tree

And fall fast asleep in the grass, Penny and me

In this paradise, nature seems to bloom

I hope you come back to this paradise soon...

River Rapids

River rushing really fast

Penelope and me having a blast

Wear no clothes and hold on tight

It's our favourite river ride

"Waaoows" and "Wooooaaahs" fill the air

Drifting downstream without a care

Water splashing over our skin

Rushing with the mountain wind

Wait - what's that overhead?

Underneath an oak tree leafy red...

YIKES! Oh no, it's a waterfall!

Hold on tight, we're going to fall!

SPLASH!

Aaaaahhh, now's the time to relax

Onto the water we lie on our backs

The water is smoother and deeper and cool

This river, my friends, is better than a pool.

Chicken Soup For The Soul: Inspiration For Writers: Poopy Pants & Butterflies - Review

Judging from how the story is told, I think 'Poopy Pants & Butterflies' really inspired me to be a poet just from hearing Susan's story of speaking before a group of Year 2 kids about her story about an incontinent girl and her poems, which are my favourite part of the story.

My favourite part of this inspiring story is about the main character, Susan, sharing poems with her son's class about the Tooth Fairy, chocolate cake that causes bellyache and a fat cat who fell off a chair. I wish I could hear those poems. Well, I've heard of Tales Of The Tooth Fairies, which features a cast of magical rodents delivering small delights to children who place a tooth under their pillow, but having Susan write about the Tooth Fairy will make her fans excited about brushing their teeth and going to the dentist more - even me, as I would enjoy my trip to the dentist more thanks to Susan. Next, there's the chocolate cake poem. I remember almost picking up a book by Michael Rosen about chocolate cake and the sounds you make when you eat it - I bet his mum criticised him for using sounds and imagery in this poem, yet the sounds were too erotic for the poem but made it into publishing anyway. Then there's the fat cat that fell off the chair, which begs life's most difficult question: Susan never mentioned she had a pet. Did she have a cat back home which she and her son look after? The question is yet to be answered, my friends, it's yet to be answered. I now realise thanks to this story that poems! Are! PLOTLESS! Thanks, Wordsworth.

arranco de varsovia - forca da imaginaco

I've been meaning to post this Brazilian song on my blog since January 2023. I almost forgot about it until it showed up on my Youtube recommendation feed. I was like, "Woah woah woah, what do we have here?" And guess what? The tune sounded familiar, and it was to me! It was...a Putumayo song!

When I first heard this tune during the time I was trying out the new Sky Kids channel (and taking a liking to the serene, quiet Australian puppet show Beep & Mort), I was into Norman Picklestripes, a show which just premiered. The one thing I like about Norman Picklestripes is the songs, which are all set on a stage. I could just hear people cheering and clapping and throwing flowers for Norm, yelling "We love you, Norm!" and "You're the best Sky Kids character since Beep & Mort!" Even the Earth Day 2 part special is one to watch to take in an environmentally friendly message. Guess what else makes this series appealing? It's made by the people who created Scream Street, Clangers, Strange Hill High and The Tiny Chef Show...

...but due to lack of money, they shut down. I am so sad to hear of the parting of the irresistible characters we all know and love.

In order to remember them, listen to this song in Brazilian. You'll know the words in a flash.

Udu's Dance

What's new in my music palette?
This song of course!

You know, I couldn't stop listening to this song when I was out with my support worker today. It reminded me of The Story Makers' Tales From Far Away segments, where tales from all over the world are told in various forms of puppetry, like the donkey one featured in the VHS 'Park & Other Stories', which is told through shadow puppetry.

Aside from that, I had a pretty sickening day today. My support worker had to go to the toilet two times today - but thank god he didn't go to get any nappies, because I'm not, as Horrid Henry calls his brother Perfect Peter, a 'smelly nappy baby'. Nappies are really reserved for his baby daughter anyway. In the meantime, we got my favourite caramel hot chocolate from the Co-Op. I wanted to show my support worker my poems I wrote this morning - one about me and Penelope, the other based on 100 Greatest Cartoons. Unfortunately, Nine Lives contains distressing subject matter involving characters Droopy and Roger Rabbit which might be too upsetting for those who grew up with these characters.

Anyway, we took a drive, and it made me so woozy we went home, and I crashed out in bed. Simple as that, I'd imagine.
