Robert Throws Away Batteries

The provided text describes a fictional scenario involving Robert The Robot from Fireball XL5, highlighting his habit of incorrectly disposing of batteries due to a misunderstanding of their lifecycle. The author suggests this character, who is frequently bothered by the antics of Zoonie, mistakenly believes all batteries, even long-lasting ones like Duracell, should be binned once their power depletes. The text then humorously proposes an imaginary, highly inappropriate public service announcement concept featuring Robert violently mistreating a Duracell bunny to illustrate the "don't throw batteries away" message, acknowledging that Duracell would certainly not approve of such an advert. The piece concludes with a simple, direct plea for children not to discard batteries improperly.

Caillou Gets Handcuffed

The provided text expresses a strong negative opinion about the character of Caillou, suggesting he is a bad influence due to behaviours like temper tantrums and pinching his sister. The author believes these actions, shown on television platforms like PBS Kids and Cartoonito, are harmful and could be mimicked by children. Consequently, the writer proposes that Caillou should face severe consequences, such as being jailed. Furthermore, the author urges PBS Kids to include warnings for parents if they continue to broadcast the show.

I Can't Sleep

On the quietest of nights inside the Creighton-Ward mansion, I tossed and turned, sniffling like a drowsy aardvark with a droopy long nose. Then, I sat up in bed, my eyes red and my nose blocked. I gently shook my mummy, Lady Penelope, awake. “Mummy…mummy, wake up.” I said through a croaky voice.

Lady Penelope awoke with a soft yawn, then she looked at me in gentle shock. “Oh dear, darling, you look awful.” “I know, I must’ve got a really bad cold overnight.” I said. “I hate it when that happens.” sighed Lady Penelope. “Don’t worry, darling, Parker’s asleep so I think I’ll get you your favourite strawberry flavoured medicine, and a nice mug of hot cocoa.”

She turned on the bedside lamp and went downstairs to the kitchen. I waited for what felt like a long time. I felt dizzy and sniffly, and all I could do was lie there, staring up at the ceiling.

To my relief, Lady Penelope eventually came back with a tray with my medicine and cocoa. She poured a spoonful of medicine and said softly, “Take this. It’ll make you feel a lot better.” I took a spoonful of the medicine. It tasted very good. Then I took the mug of hot cocoa and drank it. The taste alone washed away the somewhat ‘technotronic’ strawberry taste, even though the medicine tasted good.

Eventually, my eyes grew heavy, and I snuggled back down to sleep. Lady Penelope got into bed with me, kissed me goodnight and switched off the bedside lamp. With ‘er ladyship’s gentle breathing being the only lullaby I needed tonight, I snuggled beside Lady Penelope, feeling warm and wholesome.

As they say, mother knows best….even a beautiful mummy like ‘er ladyship.

Cupcake Land

Hi! I’m Pinkie Pie! I would like to tell you of this really weird dream I had last night. It’ll be so weird you - okay, this stuff is boring. On with the dream!

When I woke up the moment I fell asleep, I found myself in this beautiful candy-coloured world…and it was made out of cupcakes! There were cupcakes with pink, yellow and blue icing all around, and a huge pastel rainbow watched over the place. Excited as a party popper, I ran around eating from every single cupcake I could find. And then, to my absolute amazement…

Can you guess what I encountered next?

Guess.

Guess again.

Getting warmer….

If you guessed a smoothie waterfall with frothy candyfloss foam, you’re correct! I took out my biggest straw and sipped from the amazing smoothie lake, and then I took a nibble of the candyfloss foam. WOW! I had never tasted anything so sweet in all my life! Everything smelled like cake batter and baby powder, and the sky was coloured orange and pink and blue.

And then, I found a suspicious looking castle. Curious, I opened the large door, and crept inside. Everything was really dark and eerie, and at first I felt very scared. And then, out of nowhere, the lights burst on and a shower of confetti and balloons fell around me. All my friends - Twilight, Rainbow, Rarity, Applejack, Fluttershy and almost everyone from Ponyville I knew - leapt out and yelled “SURPRISE!”

So now I know - they were planning a surprise party just for me! And the day after the night I had my dream happened to be my birthday, as you may have guessed, which is why everyone held a surprise party for me on that day.

Always trust good dreams.

The Giant Playroom

I had a weird yet playful dream last night…

I found myself in an enormous blue, yellow and red playroom, filled with toys of all different shapes, colours and sizes. Best of all, when I looked around, I found to my absolute surprise that all my friends were there - Bluey, Bingo, Mackenzie, Coco, Honey, Chloe, in fact just about everyone I knew was there.

I ran to join them, and in an instant we all started playing with the toys. Mackenzie and Jack played firefighters with the toy fire engines, while Coco and Indy were cradling baby dolls in their arms, feeling gentle and loving. Bluey and Bingo were acting silly and running about playing tag and laughing, while Lucky and Judo were dancing to some silly music playing on the cassette player. There were squeals of laughter for everyone, and there were just enough toys to go around.

Then, suddenly, as if out of nowhere, I saw something that made my eyes grow wide with interest. It was an enormous teddy bear, as big as a skyscraper, with a huge yellow bow tie.

I ran up to it and snuggled deep into its big, soft tummy, but as if a meteor had hit the ground, it started to speak. Its voice was so loud it shook the whole playroom. “I LOVE YOU!” it went, and heart-shaped beams shot out of where its heart was meant to be. WHOOSH! The whole playroom broke apart, and everyone went flying.

The next moment, we were out of the playroom and flying in the air, without any wings to hold us. It was so freeing, that for a moment, I felt like a bird flying high in the sky…except, it has friends to guide her.
