Friends Playing Together

Furaha and Orko are playing in the palace throne room. They pretend to be grizzly bears and chase each other around the room, all while tickling and cuddling each other.

Pumbaa's Trapped Gas

When Pumbaa comes to the palace with a tummy ache, Furaha knows it's trapped gas that did it, so she, Timon, Orko and their cousins Upendi, Nakona and Lanka pretend to be doctors to find a way to force the painful gas out.

Orko's Snuggly Story

When Kiburi and Ua are too tired to read Furaha her nightly bedtime story, Orko offers to help. He squeezes into the bed beside Furaha and tells her a snuggly, soft story.

Aaaaaahhhh...That's Better

Orko and toddler Furaha journey a long way to a far off kingdom. When they do finally get to the palace, they discover a whole suite of secret rooms, plus a luxurious bedroom with the softest, comfiest bed they can ever rest on.

International Children's Book Day

Happy International Children's Book Day!

For years, children's classics like The Wind In The Willows, The Jungle Book or Harry Potter have charmed and delighted generations of children - even mums and dads like to read them sometimes, don't blame me. I like to read stories about Disney characters, national days and Kipper The Dog.

Celebrate International Children's Book Day with your class - have them dress up as their favourite book character and host a Children's Book Day tea party and storytelling session. Then, for my stories, imagine what my stories would be like as published children's stories. Have your kids design a book cover and illustrations to see how the stories go - you might have a nice sweet picture of Furaha and Orko playing together, or you might have Littlefoot and Cera battling giant robots to save the Great Valley from permanent destruction.

Let the reading begin!

Children's Picture Book Day

Happy Children's Picture Book Day!

It's a day of exploring Percy's Park, going on surreal adventures with Kipper the dog and looking at all the bright shapes and colours of the adventures of Maisy and her friends Charlie, Tallulah and Cyril. Choose one of my stories for inspiration for an activity you'll do with your child. Any story, really, good examples include:
  • A Brother's Warmth
  • Let's Be Friends
  • Vortex: A Me, You, And...Legend
  • A Weekend With Orko
You could pretend to live a royal life or live in a Crystal Castle, spread your fairy wings and flitter, flutter and fly amongst sweet smelling flowers and frog filled lily ponds or have afternoon tea and cake just like in Furaha and Orko's London apartment. For better effect, watch British Animation Awards' 'Box Of Delights' DVD series - you could explain to each other what's going on with Little Wolf and his older wolf brothers as they try to get one another down from the moon during 'Little Wolf', or dance along with the multi coloured dancers during 'Feet Of Song'. You can also laugh along with the clumsy antics of a crew of sailors during 'Calamity Island'.

For you see, Children's Picture Book Day isn't just about reading, it's about spending time with your child!

Two Kingdoms Apart Day

Happy late Two Kingdoms Apart Day!

Yesterday was the day when we celebrate the story of Eternia being a bad kingdom divided with the animal kingdom of Leonas with a huge brick wall. On this day, Orko was banished from the kingdom and sent over the wall after he caused havoc during a firework display. Immediately he was accepted into Leonas by King Maneguard, his wife Varina and their butlers Timon the meerkat and Pumbaa the warthog. He was the brother of their young daughter Furaha, and as Furaha grew up, Orko was loved by her and the rest of the kingdom, while Eternia fell in ruins and Prince Adam...er... let's just say he ran away.

To celebrate this day, here are the things you might do next April 1st:
  • Watch The Lion King on Disney+ and the 2002 He Man series and the 2011 Thundercats series on Prime Video.
  • Put on a play acting out the story.
  • Place backstories for King Maneguard and Queen Varina, explaining their childhood and how they met.
  • Share the story with your friends or school.

Little Leo Leopard Spots

One night in the palace, Orko awakens to baby Furaha crying. Kiburi, Ua, Putzell, Princess and Angel are all despairing because their little angel has chickenpox and can't seem to get her back to sleep. Orko decides to cure her with soothing Trollan Chickenpox Cream and feed her a nice, warm bottle of milk, and soon baby Furaha is fast asleep, no longer in discomfort from the itching.

All Tucked In

Furaha returns home after a long day of play, feeling very tired. Orko sends her up to bed and tucks her in, telling her a story of a lioness who is bored of playing all day and decides to go for a nap in a huge golden castle which belongs to a loving wizard called Orko.

Two Kingdoms Apart

Once upon a time, two kingdoms lived separately behind each side of a huge brick wall. On one side of the wall was Leonas, a kingdom full of peaceful animal people. The other side was home of the hateful people of Eternia and the selfish Prince Adam, who always blamed his nursemaid Orko for every mistake he made, which often caused him to be punished. One day, all of Eternia banishes Orko for ruining their fireworks display, but luckily he finds home in the Leonas kingdom, where he befriends the king and queen's daughter Furaha and becomes their loving nursemaid.

Nose & Cheeks

Orko plays with baby Furaha in her nursery, and admires her cuddly toes and cheeks.
