A Poem About Uncle Stripe, By Purple Ronnie
A Poem About An Ocean Bath By Purple Ronnie
Welcome Home, Penelope
Lady Penelope has been away for days now.
Parker is looking after me.
Penelope’s been on a mission for International Rescue.
She’s been away for six weeks now.
I’ve been worrying whether she’d be alright.
“Don’t worry, me little lady, she’ll be fine!”
That’s what Parker always says to me.
She’s due to return by the seventh week.
Parker has helped me cope all these six weeks.
Now the seventh week has come.
Penelope’s coming home!
During my playdate with Muffin and Socks, I announce the news.
“PENELOPE’S COMING HOME!!”
Uncle Stripe cheers, and Muffin and Socks hug me.
Throughout the day, I do some painting.
I share ice cream with Muffin.
I play Horsey Ride with Uncle Stripe.
I dance with Aunt Trixie and Socks to country music.
And by the end of the day, who should pull up outside?
“LADY PENELOPE!” I scream.
I run into her arms, tears streaming down my face.
“I miss you so much, Penny.”
“I miss you too, darling.”
Uncle Stripe is actually crying right now.
“Don’t worry, Stripe, everything’s fine.”
“Moments like these make me want to…”
But then Uncle Stripe loses it and cries loudly.
Lady Penelope and I laugh.
“Come on, miladies, let’s go home.”
“HOMEWARD!” I shout.
And off we head at last back home.
Ocean Bath
It is a lovely day on the beach.
Seagulls cry out.
There’s no one else on the beach except me and Penelope.
We live wild, free and feral as sisters.
Today is the perfect day for a swim in the sea.
We emerge from our cave feeling all groggy.
So groggy we almost couldn’t see anything!
Penelope climbs onto a large rock.
She dives into the sea.
I follow after her.
Penelope swims around for a little while.
The ocean is really cold, yet mild.
Suddenly, Penelope hears a giggle.
She looks around, then looks under the water.
When she looks up again, here I am.
We both laugh in joy.
We splash each other, squealing in delight.
Penelope is completely drenched.
So am I.
I giggle with delight as Penelope picks me up.
She swings me around while I yell, “Wheeeeeee!!!”
Penelope is so playful and gentle.
She hugs me gently.
I hug her back.
Later, it’s sundown.
Lady Penelope and I watch the sun go down on the beach.
We share some fish roasted over an open fire.
We used dry driftwood to make the fire.
The fish tastes delicious.
Full from my meal, I yawn and fall asleep.
Penelope snuggles beside me.
The day turns slowly to a magical night.
There we are, snug and sound at last.

I'd rather watch Binka The Cat!

It means you're babied a lot more
Lady Penelope likes to care for me
While a warm breeze blows through the door.
A Poem About Bunnies By Tin Tin
They make want to squeal and faint
They have snuggly soft white fur
Unless they peel off the wall paint.

Which happens to be tall as a tree!

A Poem About A Small Apartment By Purple Ronnie
Scott has the footie on loud
So I spend time with Lady Penelope
In a room as quiet as a cloud.
A Winter's Tale
Lady Penelope and I are preparing for bed.
We have our pyjamas on.
We have two warm mugs of cocoa by our bed.
“Can I have a story?” I asked desperately.
“Tell me about a beautiful Winter’s day!”
“Okay, settle down then,” chuckles Penelope.
She begins to tell me the story.
The story is set in a Winter landscape.
I am a lonesome traveller, searching for refuge.
Suddenly, I see a glowing light in the distance.
I run towards it, happy I’ve found refuge.
I find out it’s a cosy log cabin surrounded in sparkles.
I open the door.
Wow! What a sight!
It’s a whole, cosy living room!
And there’s a delicious smell coming from the kitchen.
I follow the smell towards the kitchen.
It’s Lady Penelope!
And she’s…cooking?
In front of me is a whole Christmas lunch.
She asks me to go fetch Parker.
I go into another room.
There is Parker, practising acrobatic skills!
I call to him that it’s time for dinner.
He hears, and says, “Count me in, buddy!”
We settle down to eat.
There is a wide variety of food - turkey, mashed potatoes and ice cream.
After my meal, I feel really tired.
Lady Penelope carries me to bed, and I feel safe and sound.
“The End.”
But I’m already asleep.
Lady Penelope kisses me goodnight.
“Goodnight, darling. I love you.”
Penelope's Pilates
Lady Penelope has woken up very early.
I sleep in, unaware of what she does.
She makes the bed - with me still in it.
Lil makes her a nice mug of keto juice.
It’s Spinach turned into a drink - eeewww!!
But it’s just what Penelope needs to keep on going.
She puts on her exercise gear.
She begins doing pilates in the living room.
She always does that when I’m still asleep.
She works out so much, she begins to sweat.
She turns off the TV.
She heads to the bathroom.
She begins to take a shower.
At once, I immediately wake up.
“Penelope!” I call out. “I want to brush my teeth.”
“Not so fast, me little lady.” Parker says.
“Why is she in the bathroom?” I ask.
“She’s just had a hard workout and now she needs to ease the sweat off her.”
“Oh.” I realise.
A few minutes later, Penelope emerges.
She is wearing her purple dressing gown.
She sits by her makeup table, and applies some facial cream.
I sit on the bed and wait.
Once she’s finished, I am in tears when she approaches me.
“Penelope!” I cry, running into her arms.
I knock her over in a fierce hug.
She laughs as she hugs me.
“I miss you so much!” I weep.
“Well, I thought you would miss me during my exercise routine.”
“And so I did.”
Penelope and I are sisters again.
Winter's Embrace
It’s a cold Winter night.
Penelope and I return from a mission feeling exhausted.
Penelope puts everything in her bag away.
I help her.
Penelope and I then have a shower together.
Penelope uses shea sugar scrub.
It smells so wonderful…like peppermint.
It IS peppermint!
We spend our shower keeping ourselves fresh and pure.
After our shower, Penelope dries herself and puts on her pyjamas.
I do the same.
Penelope brushes my hair with a soft bristled hairbrush.
We apply lip gloss onto our cracked, dry lips.
We apply perfume onto ourselves so we smell twice as fresh.
Then it is time to head to bed.
What a busy day we’ve had.
Lil makes two warm mugs of cocoa from the kitchen.
Parker brings them in for us.
That cocoa tastes delicious to both of us.
It’s Lady Penelope’s favourite type.
It’s even better with marshmallows and cream.
It’s even better than apple cider.
We then settle down to watch The Snowman.
Penelope is in tears when the Snowman melts.
“Is anything wrong, Penelope?” I ask.
“Nothing’s wrong. It’s just that I’ll always be with you.”
We both hug, Penelope crying into my shoulders.
With the TV off, we head straight to bed.
This bed is so cosy and soft.
“Goodnight, Penelope.” “Goodnight, darling.”
Arctic Hugs
Lady Penelope and I are on an adventure.
We’re trekking through the Arctic.
The weather is extremely cold.
At least we have Winter clothes on.
Everything is silent.
The sky is yellow and pink.
The snow underneath our feet is deep.
Suddenly, we see some polar bear cubs playing.
I run to join them.
Penelope takes one bear cub in her arms and cuddles her.
For hours on end, we play with the cubs.
At last, it’s time to leave.
“Won’t their mother find out?” I ask.
“This is the Arctic. Polar bears are always gentle there.” Penelope smiles.
At last, we come across a huge glacier.
Penelope and I climb it to get a better look.
We use pickaxes to help us climb.
I try hard to climb, but Penelope encourages me.
Soon, we make it to the very top.
We look out over the sea and at the darkening sky.
“It’s about time we set up camp,” I said.
We climb down the glacier.
We return to our log cabin.
We snuggle against a roaring fire.
We drink hot cocoa and have a nice supper of sausages and beans.
I snuggle near Penelope, glad to be home.
“It was an adventure. Let’s go on another one.”
“There’ll be time for that tomorrow, darling.”
“Still, home is what matters.”
“I think you’re right, darling.”
I am glad to be warm and cosy.
Soon, we both fall fast asleep.
New Beginnings
I remember when I was a baby.
I remember when Lady Penelope took care of me.
She was so loving and gentle.
She is like a mother to me.
Yet, she is still my big sister.
She’d cuddle me for hours on end.
She’d tickle me and make me giggle.
She’d whisper reassuring words into my ears.
She’d tell me some soothing stories.
She’d play peekaboo with me.
We’d play hide and seek together.
That was when I learnt to crawl.
When it was breakfast time, she’d feed me porridge.
The porridge tasted very nourishing.
Especially when it has milk in it.
Parker loved me too.
He’d fall asleep in his chair.
He’d wake to me asleep on his lap.
“There’s a little baby on me knees.”
“That baby is my sister, Parker.”
Parker would smile and start tickling me.
He would stroke me too.
Often, he would play games with me.
He would tickle me and pretend to be a little mouse.
But my love was dedicated to my sister.
She was tender and soft towards me.
We always play and spend time together.
She always keeps me protected and safe.
But most of all, she loves to give me a soft hug.
Hugs are my thing.
I love you, Penelope.
“And I love you too, darling.”
I’ll always remember that.
