It is a lovely day on the beach.
Seagulls cry out.
There’s no one else on the beach except me and Penelope.
We live wild, free and feral as sisters.
Today is the perfect day for a swim in the sea.
We emerge from our cave feeling all groggy.
So groggy we almost couldn’t see anything!
Penelope climbs onto a large rock.
She dives into the sea.
I follow after her.
Penelope swims around for a little while.
The ocean is really cold, yet mild.
Suddenly, Penelope hears a giggle.
She looks around, then looks under the water.
When she looks up again, here I am.
We both laugh in joy.
We splash each other, squealing in delight.
Penelope is completely drenched.
So am I.
I giggle with delight as Penelope picks me up.
She swings me around while I yell, “Wheeeeeee!!!”
Penelope is so playful and gentle.
She hugs me gently.
I hug her back.
Later, it’s sundown.
Lady Penelope and I watch the sun go down on the beach.
We share some fish roasted over an open fire.
We used dry driftwood to make the fire.
The fish tastes delicious.
Full from my meal, I yawn and fall asleep.
Penelope snuggles beside me.
The day turns slowly to a magical night.
There we are, snug and sound at last.
