Laundry Power
Furaha & Orko
Chapter 1:
Morning
The golden sun’s first rays of the day shone over the meadow. It gave life to all the flowers whose heads were drooping as low as a donkey’s head. It woke every animal in their den or cave and every bird in its nest. It shone its energising rays down on every blade of grass and every sleeping tree. It was telling the whole world to wake up…and then, the light faded. Now the world was alive with vibrant colours and peaceful frivolity. The tranquil Spring breeze blew across the valley gently, as it made every blade of grass and every flower sway like crowds holding torches during an emotional performance at a noisy concert. Every tree was in leaf and every bird was singing its dawn song. And underneath one tall oak tree, two friends were stirring…
Chapter 2:
Furaha & Her Friend, Orko
Yes, it was Furaha the lioness cub and her best friend and big brother, the Trollan wizard named Orko. Orko came from Eternia, and before, he came from Trolla - he had a horrible life back in Eternia, being told what to do endlessly by his abusive ‘friend’ He Man and the other commanding members of this universe, until finally, He Man, or Prince Adam, had enough and sent him flying in a space pod to Earth. Now, he lives a happy life with his new sister, and the two have become best friends ever since.
When Furaha woke, she stretched her arms and yawned loudly, letting out a long, lazy growl. She stood up, unleashed her claws and stretched like a cat, first with her front legs and then with her back. She saw Orko asleep by her side and thought about how to wake him up.
Then, she had it - tickling of course! She knelt down beside Orko, and…. “Tickle tickle tickle!” said Furaha in a cutesy voice, as Orko woke up mid-snore immediately from the effect of Furaha’s fluffy tickles. “Trolly Molly, Furaha! Why do you need to tickle me when I’m in the middle of a wonderful dream?” “Wow, I never knew wizards like you could dream. What was your dream about?”
“A whole world, Furaha. A world full of chocolate chip cookies and ice cream - I wanted to take a bite out of every morsel.” Orko licked his shadowed lips in complete contentment. “The sunshine has soaked its rays on our valley again.” said Furaha, “Come on, last one to the top of the tree is a thin weasel!”
Chapter 3:
Tree Climbing
Furaha began to climb the tree. She climbed and climbed and climbed, but her friend needn’t climb this high, instead, he just floated all the way up to the top of the tree, and as Furaha scrambled through the leaves, Orko burst out as she popped up through the lush greenery. “I won!” shouted Orko. “Better luck next time, eh, Furaha?” “Oh, I guess, but you’ve yet to know, Orko, it isn’t about winning, it’s about fun and games.” “Oh yeah, you’re right,” said Orko, and high-fived Furaha, hugging her so they both giggled over such a little victory.
Chapter 4:
The View
Furaha and Orko looked out over their wonderful valley. The morning sun had soaked its rays on every grassy plain, every hill, every tree, every lake, every mountain, giving everything in nature its sleeping life back.
“Wow,” gasped Furaha, “I’ve never seen the world come alive before.” “That’s just how the world is when it’s morning,” reminded Orko, “Everything comes alive in nature, as all sleeps when the darkness of the night rolls around. And boy, how lucky we are to live in this wonderful paradise.” “It’s everything we’ve ever dream-WOOOOOOAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!” Oh my goodness gracious me! Furaha is falling! Quickly, Orko flew down to where Furaha was going to crash, and caught her just in time, but because she was so heavy, Orko fell over! Furaha cheered excitedly, and the two began to laugh.
As their laughter faded out, Orko said, “I think this is going to be the best day ever.” “I think you’re right,” said Orko, “Now, let’s go and explore more of our valley!”
Chapter 5:
Rolling Down Hills
Furaha and Orko first went to the biggest hill in the valley. Furaha was excited, for she knew that she was going to do her favourite thing - rolling down hills. Not without Orko, he was like her own guide in her life, someone who would be in her shadow the whole time.
Furaha fell over onto her back and rolled downhill. Orko fell over and rolled down after her. “Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!” they both cried, and they laughed and shouted as they rolled down the hill together. Oh, how happy they were rolling down those hills together as a brother and sister. They closed their eyes and felt the dizzying world black out before them, before they felt one another land on top of each other. When they opened their eyes, they saw that they were together again. How they laughed!
Chapter 6:
The Flower Meadow
The meadow was full of brightly-coloured, wonderfully perfumed flowers, standing waiting to be smelled in the Springtime sunshine. Furaha and Orko made their way through the meadow, causing butterflies to scatter in a cloud of bright colours into the air.
The two friends danced and spun round until they collapsed in the flowers, panting and laughing. Furaha then rolled over onto her tummy and smelled a bright yellow flower. Its scent was so wonderful, Furaha thought she was going to Heaven already.
When Orko tried to take a sniff of his red flower, he saw a bee nestled inside it. And it didn’t look happy. “ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!” growled the bee, and it began to chase Orko around the field. “AAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!” screamed Orko, “Furaha, help me! I’m being chased by a bee!” “Don’t worry, Orko,” laughed Furaha, “The bee will give up on chasing you and resume his job of collecting nectar soon.”
Chapter 7:
Running Free
Furaha sat and watched Orko float quickly away from his insect foe, being chased by a bee wasn’t enough for him. Then, she had an idea. “Orko, RUN!” she shouted, and soon the two began to run and float further and further away from the flower meadow, until the bee was nowhere to ‘bee’ seen.
“Furaha, you saved me!” said Orko. “Thanks,” said Furaha, “Although, I just realised something: you can’t just leave a friend being chased by a bee, you have to do something. And that’s exactly what I did!” “Oh, you’re so heroic, Furaha. I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
Furaha and Orko laughed as they ran across the valley, the wind in their (for Orko’s, shadowed) faces and a free spirit in their hearts. Orko twirled and spun as he floated high into the air, almost blocking out the sun, and let out a burst of giant sparkles using his magic, which rained all over Furaha. She clapped her paws as around her, millions of flowers began to grow. Orko landed safely onto the ground, and the two shared a big hug. It wasn’t likely that a daring rescue was to end on that note, but from what I feel, this story isn’t over yet.
