My Favourite Part Of Scooby Doo & The Alien Invaders

My favourite part of Scooby Doo & The Alien Invaders is Shaggy's fantasy about spending time with Crystal and Amber. Scooby and Shaggy climb a mountain, dive under the sea, ride a boat on the ocean with a whale and buy hot dogs from a hot dog stand in the desert, with Crystal and Amber following behind. Scooby Doo bounces on a pogo stick! Shaggy is given a feast with ice creams, chicken and cake by Crystal, the entire gang attends Shaggy and Crystal's (and Scooby and Amber's) wedding in their best and fancy clothes (it would be best if they put a 101 Dalmatians reference in there), Shaggy and Crystal spend time in a psychedelic patterned bedroom with lots of records and finally, we see Scooby, Amber, Shaggy and Crystal walking down the street wheeling a pram which contains their baby and about 10 puppies! I wish they did more sequences like this for when either Scooby or Shaggy gets a love interest...

Why 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight' Wasn't Featured In Scooby Doo & The Alien Invaders

Warner Bros was originally going to put the song 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight' in Scooby Doo & The Alien Invaders in a scene involving Scooby, Shaggy, Crystal and Amber, but it was scrapped due to copyright complications from Disney. The 1993 version was going to be used, but Disney didn't allow it. I trust you, Disney is very serious about using material. I wonder if they saw me using Disney material on my blog? I hope they don't sue me...

The Real Theme For The New Series Of Our School

First Day Got Your Tongue?

Still suffering from the depression caused by First Day? Don't worry, there's something that'll cheer you Aussies up on ABC iView: the Aboriginal series Little J & Big Cuz!

I've Decided To Set The The 'Hood Episode 'War Child' On A Snowy Day

Setting an episode of a children's show about deployment on a snowy day really gives it that heartwarming tone and helps children going through the same situations do what Rusty and the other members of Izzy's gang do in the episode.

Here, the gang is playing in the snow with Bluey and her friends, when they learn that Rusty is deployed, and is eagerly waiting for his father to come home from the military. They help him plan a daily routine, and Rusty lives by it. At Calypso's school, Rusty is finally developing happy feelings and knows that someday soon he'll see his brave soldier dad again.

In one scene in the episode, the kids have a snowball fight in the park. This shocks Rusty, as he imagines being out on the battlefield with guns blazing from the getgo. He hides in a crate for safety, but it's not before Izzy and the gang help him out of his traumatic fantasy. I know, this may sound scary to youngsters, but that's part of a child's worries about growing up deployed.

The series also deals with other serious subjects Aussie kids struggle to understand, such as alcohol, same-sex relationships and gender stereotypes, creating an all-ages programme all children and adults can relate to.

Scooby & The Tramp

Today's Boomerang 3:00AM special, Scooby Doo & The Beach Beastie, is to me a bit like a Scooby Doo version of Lady & The Tramp - except a big dog falls in love with a small dog and it doesn't focus on two dogs the same size falling in love. I keep Lady & The Tramp on DVD, and sometime I might just watch either this or Tarzan on Disney+.

The 'Hood: Folk Tales

The gang are inspired by their school trip to the Australian National Maritime Museum to create their own Aussie Dreamtime tale, starring Joey the Play School kangaroo!

When You Feel Like You've Watched Scooby Doo & WWE: Curse Of The Speed Demon Your Whole Life...

The 'Hood: Animal Man & Morning Lie In

Animal Man:
There's been sightings of an animal man in the neighbourhood, so the gang put Luke and Dad through their paces to see which one is responsible for eating fruit, sneaking into people's backyards and drinking from paddling pools - if paddling pools are full up overnight. But which one is fierce enough to become the Animal Man - Luke or Dad?
Morning Lie In:
This is a quiet, tranquil episode, focusing on the gang, their friends and their neighbours having a lie in on a lazy weekend morning, just before the sun properly comes up to start their day.

Calypso Agrees...

Calypso says:
"I have read Sybil's mind and I just found out she wants to put yesterday on the best days ever blog entry at the end of this year. Let's hope Thursday is on that list...Allah, Scooby Doo!"
