In another time, Brains was raised by a family of four young animals in the rocky mountains - he was right at home with his friends.
Of course, Grey Brother the wolf cub was his favourite and he played and cuddled with him all day long.
Bear Cub taught him how to forage for food and catch fish in the river.
Egret was graceful yet cheeky, and Brains would either race her up the rocky mountain path or try to catch her as she swooped down past him.
And Maro was soft and friendly, just growing his antlers but full of soft tenderness towards little Brains.
In this natural, feral youth, shy, sensitive little Brains loved all his friends.
