Bluey Episodes Themed Around Nature

I love these episodes!

  • Shadowlands - Bluey and her friends are immersed in cool shade, which they play in to keep out of the heat, but they have to cross their new shadowy world if they want to get back to their mums at their picnic. Playing in the shade is cool and comfortable, especially if you're wearing sun cream and want to escape the hot sun. You can imagine along with Bluey, Coco and Snickers that parts of their shady world are things like lakes, ponds and tightropes. Alternate name: Cool Shade.
  • Fruit Bat - Bluey drifts into a dream where she is able to fly, eat fruits and hang upside down. The episode represents the freedom of being able to dream anything, including the fun of flying and the joy of being a different animal entirely, as logical explanations tell you that you can be whoever you want. Alternate name: The Night Guardian.
  • The Creek - My FAVOURITE episode of Bluey! Bluey, Mackenzie, Bingo and Dad explore the local creek and find a new way to be at one with nature, escaping the basics of modern life and going back to the simple times when playing by the water was the law of nature - in fact, play is the only law of nature. In the cool lake, Bluey, Mackenzie and the others indulge in their own Aussie Garden Of Eden, skimming stones, making a dam and sailing boats on the lake. I love nature, so this is why I love this episode. I want to visit the creek. I do, I really do! Alternate name: Soothing Naturals.
  • Camping - Bluey and her family go on a camping trip, and Bluey, looking like she's been abandoned here and left to fend for herself, meets a French labrador named Jean-Luc. Australia is all about diversity, so Bluey and Jean-Luc may look different, but through playing at surviving in the wild and hunting Bluey's own dad they learn to trust each other and each other's instincts, almost as if they're going back to the days when Aborigines roamed the outback. My favourite scene is Bluey's first night in the site, where she's sitting round a campfire eating marshmallows and talking with Mum, Dad, Uncle Stripe, Aunt Trixie, Muffin and Socks, while Jean-Luc is having a proper table dinner with his mum and dad. It's here that you can see a big difference between people in France and people in Australia, but inside, we are all the same, and the joys and challenges of life are universal. Alternate name: Survival.

First Day In The City

Today the last episode of the mini series First Day is airing and, straight from Australia, I have one more surprise for you depressed Aussies: Pingu In The City!

Grandma's Home!

I have an important announcement: from now on whenever I go to Grandma's, I'll show you on my blog videos I saw on Youtube that are related (and not related) to the work I'm doing each day. For example, tomorrow I'm seeing unusual clips from Disney Junior such as the lullabies, the Winnie The Pooh competition that aired on Disney Junior in 2011 and various Disney film-related clips, and on Saturday since I'm doing Me, You, And Barbie & The Magic Of Pegasus, I'm seeing videos related to not only My Little Pony, Barbie and Native American music, but also episodes of Deri Deg, the Welsh version of the rarely-seen animated British children's show Rocky Hollow. Stay tuned!

When Dogs Know Their Owners Are Pregnant...

I found this video on Youtube about a dog who helps out with the announcement of pregnancy by acting human and preparing for the new baby - check it out!

Furaha When She Has A Bath....

Caillou Intro - Noddy Edition

Now my mum and I agree that Caillou is whiny and is a bad influence on kids, so I've rewritten the Noddy's Toyland Adventures theme to talk about Caillou instead - in fact, this is the actual theme for the show. I've included the instrumental so you can sing along.
LYRICS:
Caillou (Caillou)
The little kid with the whiny attitude
Caillou (Caillou)
His temper tantrums mean he's the brattiest little boy in all the land!
There's Leo and Sarah and Clementine and all his special friends
He'll whine and cry before you then you'll take him home again
Caillou (Caillou)
Caillou
Caillou!
That's me! (giggles)
SHUT UP, CAILLOU!

The Smell Of Fresh Night Rain

Last night, while I was asleep, I smelled the most beautiful smell of all: a mixture of fresh air and rain that only comes at night. A peaceful fresh so delectable and inviting that it inspires you with every breath you take as you sleep. I couldn't resist - I was reminded of how much the rain's soft, lovely smell means to me and my works, as rain plays a vital part of my works, as does water. There's a Moon & Me episode which beautifully describes the scent of rain and its impact on Mother Nature, and I'll put it up on my blog next time it appears on BBC iPlayer. It's named 'Everything Smells Lovely' and I saw it last year. You should give it a go - if you smell as fresh as a certain newborn baby/sleepy rabbit hybrid!

Lion, Dog & The Ice Cream At The Beach

Here's a story Nick Jr forgot to put into their Once Upon A Bedtime short series - a story about a lion and a dog and their trip to the seaside! I think this has given me an idea for an animated TV series for Nick Jr named 'Lion & Dog' - and this time, it won't be like Peppa Pig or Paw Patrol, I promise, it'll have an Adventures Of Paddington-like ton.
