How To Catch A Star

It's a shame CBeebies didn't do Bedtime Stories based around the theme of each of the new Dog Loves Books adventures. Every night, I'll bring a bedtime story based on the theme of each episode to you! For Dog Loves Stars, here's a book by the author of Lost & Found that'll help you touch human-like stars for real: How To Catch A Star. It's a lovely book about a young boy who befriends a star and tries to help it get back home.

When How To Train Your Dragon: Homecoming Airs On CBBC (V.2)

#PawsWithPaddington

Earlier on, while I was finding things relating to this morning's CBBC movie, I stumbled upon this Paddington activity pack, It contains all sorts of fun things to do center around the great British duffle coat-wearing bear, including a letter, a toilet roll Paddington, the Elevenses Challenge, a Q&A with Paddington and lots more! Click the link below in case you missed the memo:

Tweet Tweet

This Teletubbies episode contains a song about birds, sung by Alex Pascall - not about Twitter at all, although there are some really cool Twitter accounts such as Factory, Coolabi, Scream Street, Bluey and My Pride. Join in with the singing at home! Plus, enjoy this Teletubbyland segment I saw when I was young about a beautiful white CGi butterfly.

Tracy Beaker's Big Fat Sopping Quiz!

That title up above is what Tracy would call this quiz if she was playing it on the computer in Elmtree House AKA The Dumping Ground. You see, Justine took this quiz and she was ace at it, so YOU must help Tracy Beaker! Can you help her remember all the fun times she had in the Dumping Ground, and all the outrageous moments and animated sequences of mixed up surreality? Head to the CBBC website and team up with Tracy to see how much you know about her show!

Smart Cookies

This is a clip from a series of Sesame Street shorts starring Cookie Monster, and the newest series on Tiny Pop, named Smart Cookies. In this series, Cookie leads a gang of talking cookies on missions to stop an evil Muppet known as The Crumb taking the world's cookies and having them all to himself. To celebrate the skits coming to Tiny Pop as a stand-alone series (which it did this morning), watch the clip above of the team solving a problem at the beach, then make these chocolate chip hearts and stars to eat next time you record Smart Cookies and watch them during Elevenses.

Jackipper

Here are two videos I found last night: one of a recording of a Kipper episode starring Mouse I saw at a friend's house when I was younger, and another of a Youtuber talking about and ranking Jacqueline Wilson books based on how traumatising they are. I recommend you watch Kipper first before you find out Jacqueline Wilson's dark story secrets from this dorky red-haired Youtuber!
FUN FACT: Girls In Love was a series based on Jacqueline Wilson's books of the same name. Whereas other Jacqueline Wilson-based series air on the BBC, the Girls In Love series, with its scribbly animated graphics, aired on CiTV and was sponsored by Shaders & Toners. The idents can still be seen at the beginning and end of the video and DVD releases of the show, but I still think it's an amazing and weird slice-of-life teen drama. Shame Eggs isn't here, though.

The River Cottage Animals

When Jordan's sponsored River Cottage, they had these cute little idents that featured footage of countryside insects, birds and animals overdubbed with funny and hilarious voices, some parodying the way they live, or at one time depicted a barn owl as a massive peeker. And by peeker, most adults will ultimately recognise it!

When You Find Your True Blue Best Friend Waiting For You At The Bus Stop...

Bluey Bus No.79

In 'Bus', one of the new episodes of Bluey to hit Disney+, Bluey and her family re-enact out an action-packed grown up bus-set love story from the comfort of their own landing. Create your own bus out of cardboard, so that you can create your own role-play bus stories!

If You Love Dog Loves Stars....

....then you'll find more starry-eyed fun from CBeebies! CBeebies Stargazing, Moon & Me and Maddie, Space & You are the perfect ways to find out more about stars and planets, but when the original Bedtime lineup was present, with Abney & Teal and In The Night Garden, we learnt more about bedtime themes like stimulation, outdoor play and toddler development. Enough with the recall, space here we come!

I made a few adjustments to Grandma's calendar....

The Truth About Dog & Pug

Thought Nothing and Hover originally being Kyoga and Karabi was shocking enough? Well, wait 'til you hear the truth about Dog and Pug, based on what I saw in the premiere of new episodes of Dog Loves Books!
The shapes of Canis Major and Canis Minor in the stars in 'Dog Loves Stars' looked almost identical to that of Dog and Pug, which lead me to believe that those two lived their lives as Canis Major and Minor in their first life, before they were reborn as Dog and Pug. I imagine Canis Major to be yellowish-orange with brown ears, while Canis Minor is white with black ears. They also have star and moon patterns all over their bodies, which explains why they're Constellations.

Merry Christmas In February, Paddington!

As Paddington 2 was airing on CBBC today (and it's due to the fact that the voice actor who plays my old friend Templeton is in it too), I decided to have a browse for classic Paddington episodes, and the one I found was my favourite classic Christmas adventure - one with Paddington, his chemistry set/scrapbook/xylophone presents and the most lovely Christmas feast - delicious turkey steaming hot, fresh mince pies and a coffee pot, with maybe Christmas pudding and custard, the table beautifully laid, one place for Paddington and one for Mr and Mrs Brown and another for Jonathan and Judy. If you've seen the episode as a child, it's fine by me, but I'm now going to bring Christmas in February because I've found it!

When You Watch Tracy's Fantasy On CBBC...

Be careful when you visit the Dumping Ground - one wrong step and you end up in Looneyland, a place where kids act like adults, adults act like kids, ponies act like Transformers, Transformers act like ponies and bake cakes at Sugarcube Corner, people ride on sofas, cats don't have to worry about chasing mice, rubber ducks float on ponds instead of normal ducks, and worms wear hats and speak in North Yorkshire accents.

Marshmallow Constellations

I remember, when I was a child, I saw a Rupert episode named 'Rupert & The Little Bear'. In it, Rupert and his tubby porcine friend Podgy encounter Pegasus, who leads them to a palace in the sky which is home to thousands of Constellations. It introduced me to them too - Scorpio, Torus, Leo, Ursa Major and Ursa Minor, who I believe looked similar to Nick Jr's Little Bear except large and on all fours, were just five of my first Constellations. Now in my I.B.F.Fs story 'Sleepytime: The Legend Of Bingo', we are introduced to Floppy, who is actually a form of the Constellation Lepus, and Princess Gemini, a Greek goddess-like dog princess of the stars who bares a striking resemblance to Aunt Trixie thinking about her. To celebrate the first episode of the new Dog Loves Books being about stars - and not mentioning that Kenai and Koda from Brother Bear are secretly Constellations themselves - I've put up this fun little activity which uses marshmallows to link up some strands of hard spaghetti to make Constellations!
