Five Minutes' Peace

I'm not talking about Jill Murphy's best-selling book starring the long-suffering Mrs. Large and her mischievous trio of children, I'm talking about a similar dream featuring me trying to have five minutes' peace from my friends Mitchell, Becky, Templeton, Luke, Resus, Cleo, Tiny, Small and Kipper. As you can imagine, if you have roommates or children they can be just as noisy or annoying as they possibly can, even if they are your favourite TV characters, but hey, they still can be good friends....right?
First, I tried to have five minutes peace in the bath, which was of course big enough for all ten of us - me and my I.B.F.Fs. This was just like in the book, but unfortunately, the I.B.F.Fs were desperate to join in, so I played with them in the warm water. I just had to, they're my friends after all. Later on, I tried to have five minutes' peace in bed, but my friends felt very tired and have had a long day, so I had to invite them into bed to sleep with me - it felt very cozy and tranquil.

I think all that talk about Five Minutes Peace reminds me of a new story, 'Wakey Wakey Bear', about a lazy bear who doesn't want to be disturbed by his forest friends. For now, I'm fine with the dream I have about sharing in Five Minutes' Peace with my I.B.F.Fs.
