My mummy Lady Penelope was going to a wedding of two relations that, according to Parker, had "fallen in love from out of nowhere one bright Summer's eve". Unlike most people, who wore flower dresses to the wedding, she wore the sparkliest red dress I have ever seen in my entire life!
The wedding of Uncle Evan and Aunt June was going really well at first, what with the boring bit where they were saying their vows and then kissed (eurgh), and then the photos, and then came the bit where they cut the wedding cake. It was vanilla flavoured with cherry filling, and had the prettiest pink and white icing, and there was a giant strawberry on top. Now Uncle Evan was not called Uncle Evan for nothing. The moment he shared the cake with everyone, he got quite a big slice, and cried:
"FOOD FIGHT!"
Instant chaos I tell you, INSTANT CHAOS! Repeat, INSTANT CHAOS! Everyone started screaming in joy and throwing cake here and there. Flashes of red, pink and white zipped through the air as I happily joined in, and Lady Penelope had to give in and join in too, as if this never happened to her before. Parker joined in, and Alan, and Tin Tin, and even Timon and Pumbaa joined in. Then Lady Penelope saw me covered in cake, and tutted. She didn't sharply scold, but sighed: "Oh, Sybil. What are we going to do with ourselves? Never mind, let's go home and have a nice, warm bubble bath."
