There’s something so heartwarming about seeing a gentle older dog like Nicky looking after two playful little pups like Pippa and her baby sister Blueberry. But drawing was just one small part of their day.

After their colourful art session, Nicky packed a small picnic and took the girls to the garden. Pippa, always the chatterbox, talked nonstop about her newest idea for a dragon story while Nicky nodded along patiently, tail wagging. Blueberry, curious and quiet, found a ladybug and followed it around until Nicky gently reminded her not to squish it. As the sun started to dip, Nicky helped the girls into their pyjamas and read them a story—one about a kind dog who takes care of two little fairies in the forest. Pippa giggled when she realised it was based on them. Blueberry fell asleep curled up beside her big sister before the story even ended.
