Exquisite Gratitude

As far as I'm concerned, Adult Swim really likes to play exquisite corpse. They've done it horribly to Toonami, they've done it with Rick & Morty, and they've even dedicated a special to it, which resulted in Meowmalade being treated poorly. There was even a Creative Galaxy episode dedicated to making an exquisite corpse game for waiting for the birthday dinner for Arty's dad and his family.

So, what if we were to repurpose this game into something about gratitude we can play with family and friends? Yeah, sure, it's absolutely a great idea!

You will need:
  • A team of three family members or friends (yourself included)
  • A sheet of A5 paper to pass around
  • A blue, green and red trio of felt tips
  • Placecards for each member of the group
  • Permanent coloured markets
1.First, write down names for each of the people who will be playing your game using the markers on your placecards. For example, if I were playing and a support worker and a family member would be playing along too, I'd write on their placecards: 'Meowmalade', 'Twilight Sparkle' and 'Mr Happy'. You get the idea?
2.Everyone sits around the table and the leader starts off by writing three things they're grateful for with the red pen, and then folding it.
3.The paper gets passed onto the other two members of the group, which proceeds in the process of writing down three things they're grateful for with either the blue or green pens and then folding them up.
4.It is then handed back to the leader, who unfolds the piece of paper and reads out what each member of the group is thankful for.

So forget that Adult Swim's exquisite corpse games get surreal and sickly, yours is full of happiness and gratitude. Go for it!
