It was during one of my sleepovers on Tracy Island that Tin Tin and I spent time together in the lounge, bonding and showing our sisterly love for one another. Noticing the book 'Guess How Much I Love You' on the shelf, I decided to ask Tin Tin: "Guess how much I love you?"
The love measuring wasn't at all a math lesson, but a lesson in comfort and caring. What first started as measuring how big our love is turned into a walk out onto the beach at night, with Tin Tin and me saying things like "I love you from your head to your toes" or "I love you the same height as a palm tree". Sometimes, we would tickle each other and play together with each saying that we love each other.
And then, when it approached midnight, I was getting a bit tired, so I whispered to Tin Tin as she held me in her arms, "I love you all the way up to the moon." Tin Tin lay down and relaxed on her deckchair and kissed me on the forehead. She said the same words Big Nutbrown Hare said at the end of the book:
"I love you all the way to the moon - and back."
Let's hope Alan hears this. He loves me too.
