Fireman Sam On Chemical Fumes

Mixing chemicals to make some 'dog-proof spray' can be dangerous, so here's two classic Fireman Sam stories to show us the complete and utter danger it is to our health.

Where The Heart Is

"Wow!"
"Oooh!"
"Look at that!"

Pretty unique, huh? Yesterday has to be the best and most exhausting day of my life, not since I saw those Supermarionation series on Talking Pictures TV. The day started with a surprise - to be honest, the day was full of surprises. At the chemist, I got two new toothbrushes without telling my support worker. I also stayed calm when there was a baby and a toddler in there. Vic - I mean, er, POO PANTS!

Then I surprised my support worker yet again by asking her to take me to Tesco and get me some sausage rolls, Pom Bears, chocolate milk, body wash and - wait for it - BLUEY CUPCAKE MIX, for lunch! I can't eat the cupcake mix and the body wash together, but it emits chemicals, but the Cussons body wash I got might have something to do with a certain Nutbrown Hare duo...

And then, after our picnic...
Get ready, this is the best bit...
AMAZING! I went to T T Retro! It had absolutely everything in there, from comics to action figures to VHS tapes like the ones you're seeing above, it had absolutely every single character you could ever dream of! Captain Scarlet, Thunderbirds, Power Rangers, The Lion King, Pokemon, Toy Story, Doctor Who, Stingray, Andy Pandy, Joe 90, Fireball XL5, Digimon, Stitch, almost EVERYTHING WAS THERE! I couldn't contain my excitement when I went in, for I knew that was the exact place where my heart belonged. I was so excited, and the shop owners were so friendly, I wanted to stay there for years and years and years! I wanted to buy almost everything in there! My favourites were:

The Andy Pandy VHS tape
The Simba plush
The Oliver the kitten plush
The Harry Potter Gryffindor lion plush
And ALL THOSE COMICS!!

And then, to make our day even better, I lead Sally to the sweet shop which was down the road towards Rumbly Town.
It was named Mama Gail's, and it was like we stepped into another world! My bladder was heaving with excitement, and I picked sweets of my choice. The shop owners were just as friendly as the ones in T T Retro, which was also the best place in the world, and guess what?

Their sweet shop won so many awards! Wow! Mind you, if I were to get an award for one blog, it would be ScreamBlue.

But the sad footnote?
I experience Gut-Brain Axis. My head hurt, my tummy churned and it felt like I needed to pee, so when I got home I went to the toilet, took some paracetamol and had a nice little sleep.

And thus, my head was out of ideas.
And now, here's T T Retro's new theme song, as chosen by moi:

Pinkie's Candy Box

Today I attended a party at Sugarcube Corner with Brains, Alan and Tin Tin, and all the Mane 6. Pinkie Pie had a bowl full of candy and chocolate shapes she wanted to share with everyone. She also had a bouncy castle and a chocolate fountain!

Brum's Bush Childhood

From the moment Brum was raised by Mama Kangaroo in the '70s, he and Blinky were best friends. Blinky spent his toddlerhood learning to walk with no clothes on, and Brum grew up too - even though some cars don't, he never did in heart.

The Undulate Method - Think You Can Handle It When You're Tired?

  • Unplug from all digital screens and noise.

  • Nap without setting an alarm.

  • Drink a large glass of chilled water.

  • Use a weighted blanket or soft textures.

  • Listen to gentle, ambient soundscapes.

  • Allow yourself to sit in total silence.

  • Take a lukewarm, soothing bath.

  • Eat a simple, nourishing snack.

Think You're Overtired?

Don't just take my word for it...

A Grizzly Look At Domestic Cruelty

The latest story I got up to in Grizzly Tales: Toy Time Terrors is The Bugaboo Bear, a sort of like crossover between Stephen King and Toy Story about what happens when you abuse your toys instead of take care of them or take them everywhere with you. In other words, it's a story about the horrors of child psychopaths and domestic abuse and torture, portrayed through its main character, Emily Stiff.

Emily starts the story off as your regular average little girl stereotype, skipping and jumping and dancing and baking sweet treats like chocolate cakes and cupcakes. At first, we are lead to believe the bear she loves, Cutie, is her best friend forever, and they share in everything together...but no, this isn't a sort of 'kid and his bear' story, and soon the domestic abuse theme weeps into its innocent narrative. From there, things get worse and worse.

Emily plays 'games' with her so called best friend, torturing him in a variety of harsh ways by throwing him out the window, sinking him in the bath and locking him in the fridge as if it were a meat freezer in a butcher's shop about to become a jail cell. When she finally has had enough of the bear, she cuts him open and takes his stuffing and his voice box out.

This displays the warning that somewhere in the world, a disgruntled, emotionally neglected child is becoming a psychopath, and is planning revenge on all those who left him out of their games at school or in the playground, or the family who just keeps being lazy and eating pizza and watching TV rather than inviting him to watch his favourite film.

The point is: Cutie IS the abused boy, while Emily is the cruel, heartless mother. Much like the main character's abusive mother who starves her baby to death in Goodnight Mr Tom, only he gets revenge on her for what he did to his baby sister - and the Bugaboo Bear's siblings are his stuffed animal brethren, who also want to kill Emily for what she did to her.

So, Cutie fills Emily with sawdust and sells him to a charity shop, where the little girl who buys him indulges in the same cycle as Emily did with Cutie, who throws open the cupboard door and frees all his family from their terrifying fate.

The story is a visual representation of cruelty and domestic abuse that wasn't just present in Toy Story, but also Stephen King's story Misery too, as depicted by the aggressive fan towards her idol.

If you feel the same way as Cutie did when Emily tortured him and want to find out more about what you both have been through, visit Childline to find out more:

Had A Bad Day?

I have.
To start off, I was absolutely angry. First I got angry because I had to get up multiple times to get my lunch, then my dog Mylo wanted to play and almost destroyed everything near me on the sofa, and I wanted to scream and throw things in all directions, like The Incredible Hulk in a bad mood.

And then, I got into heaps of trouble during wind down time. I looked into someone else's window when I wasn't meant to, I tripped over a stick and almost screamed in public, and then I threw too much paper on the floor for Mylo to play with and I had to clean everything up - and I thought I was being punished for causing trouble.

I'm turning into Horrid Henry!

So, I told Mum everything about my horrid day, and she said these two words of wisdom which you probably know already:

1. Spend 5 minutes in your room when you're about to fly into a rage.
2. Ask yourself if you're being logical or illogical.

Now, would you try these techniques yourself when you have a bad day?

The good news is: thank god it's over. I thought I was going to die in my sleep, thank heavens I made it out of yesterday alive. With a few painful bumps on my head, which I'm going to rid by washing my face.

I'm going to need a breather...
