One Christmas Eve: A Review

One Christmas Eve: A brand-new picture book about Percy the Park Keeper for 2026. The perfect Christmas gift for toddlers and kids aged 3+ by Nick Butterworth
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It was a charming story!

My favourite part of the entire book was the full spread page illustration of Percy and his friends riding in Father Christmas' sleigh, one squirrel dangerously on those...thingies that Santa uses to safely land his sleigh!

Would definitely read it again.

Above The Serene Isles
Pastry Shop - Judo and I play at running a pastry shop, with Lady Penelope and Parker playing our very first customers and Parker serving some quite unruly table manners
Forest Of Aloe - Lady Penelope and I explore a beautiful forest together au naturale and encounter a field of lovely, soothing aloe vera
Our Island - Lady Penelope and I wake au naturale on a beautiful island, and we claim it as our own, almost like an extended Summer vacation. We fish, swim and play together in the depths of the jungle and on the quiet, empty beach.
Made With Care - Based on a Cottagecore themed video. In her little cottage on a Winter afternoon, Lady Penelope prepares for the arrival of her new baby, all whilst baking apple cobbler, painting and doing some sewing and darning.
The Centre Of My Universe - Furaha and Orko go for a nature walk with Optimus, who tells them how much they mean to him, even calling them 'The Centre Of His Cybertron'.
Out To Sea - Lady Penelope, Parker, Sherbet and I spend time relaxing on Lady Penelope's private yacht while sailing out to sea, relaxing on deck before going down for a nice dinner, some board games and a cosy bed.
Thunderbirds Are Go(Ing On Holiday) - I join Lady Penelope, Parker, Jeff, Tin Tin, Alan and Brains for a well-earned holiday in Africa, Canada and Hawaii, which we travel to aboard Thunderbird 3. In each place, we enjoy meeting the locals, trying new foods, seeing new sights, relaxing and basically going wild wherever we go, making this the best holiday ever.
Penelope & Marina - While having dinner with our Marineville friends, Penelope and I share a laugh about how she and Marina are exactly alike. But when Commander Shore decides to lighten the mood by putting on 'Aqua Marina', just listening to this song causes Marina herself to become angry and destructive.
Body Beautiful - At the swimming pool, Lady Penelope consoles me over how everyone should be proud of their bodies, no matter how they look. We then head to the pool and go swimming together, with Lady Penelope bonding with me in the water.

Autobots Love Unicorns, Leopards Love Dinosaurs

One day, Furaha was ill with a cold on the sofa. She was so run down that she couldn't remember the last time she had a cold, because her brain was flooded with mucus. Optimus stayed by her side to watch over her and protect her, while Sasha played with Orko. "Hey, Optimus," Furaha sniffled, "Want to play with my unicorn dolls?" "Well, I may be embarrased, but it's worth a try." said Optimus, "After all, Autobots and ponies did make an alliance years ago." Furaha had the pink unicorn with purple hair, with Optimus had the blue unicorn with purple hair. Together, the two played at being two little pony princesses trotting to their castle to have a tea party, and Optimus Prime felt no shame. As Furaha wanted her game to be more girly than ever, Optimus let her wear her sparkly tiara and carry her magic wand so she can cast some spells. She pretended she was a fairy who had come to grant the unicorn's many wishes.

Wolf In The Shadows

When the family approached the nursery, Mrs Dandelion was already waiting for them. "Ah, you're here, good." she said with a smile, "The children have got some things to show you." "Why's that?" asked Orko. "It's Giving Day at the nursery, so we're bringing in things that we'd like to give to each other to show how much we care about them. Step right this way to the garden." When the family entered the garden, they were surprised to find a variety of young toddler cubs playing together. The first cub that approached them was an adorable little yellow cub wearing a pink princess dress and a pretty golden tiara, named Ami. "Hewwo!" she smiled, showing rows of pearly white teeth. "Erm...hi." said Optimus. "What's wrong with him?" asked Gatomon. "He's always like that when he's around Ami. She thinks he's her boyfriend!" Ami presented Optimus with a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Optimus sniffed them. "Mmmmmm, nice, thank you," he said with a smile under his silver faceplate. Ami took hold of Optimus' giant fingers and said, "Oh Optimus, this is the happiest day of my life! Will you marry me, Optimus?" Everyone laughed, even Optimus. "Sorry, I've no need to be your prince right now, Ami, why don't you go into class and place them on the display table for your mum to see?"

Furaha Alone

Furaha finds a big treasure box with things people have put into for future people to find in years to come.
Furaha wears big, clumpy boots and a hard army hat a soldier put into the treasure box during WWII, and says, "Your country needs me, but if you think I'm going to become a soldier and join the army when I get older, you're mistaken. I'm never going to join the army. NEVER!"
Furaha climbs a blossom tree and hangs from the branches, but then falls safely onto the grass.
Furaha plays in some sticky mud and gets herself dirty.

Caring Comfort

A group of hooded Digimon bring a baby lioness cub for Myotismon to kill, but one of the Digimon begs him to release the baby just to let the mum be sacrificed. He runs away just as the mother is stabbed with a sharp dagger.
Optimus Prime, Orko, Wizardmon and Gatomon become the cub's new family, naming her Furaha
The story charts Furaha growing up from baby to cub
There's a B-plot involving the minister of the village's two lackeys, Greymon and Garurumon, searching for Myotismon to hunt him down and execute him for what he did to the cub's mother.
Furaha snuggles down to sleep with Optimus Prime, Wizardmon, Orko and Gatomon
Optimus gives toddler Furaha a bowl of warm, nourishing milk
Furaha learns to run with the wind and fly like the freedom of an eagle
Furaha plays in the lake with Gatomon and Orko, and even somehow allow Optimus and Wizardmon to join in. Furaha tries to catch for fish with Wizardmon's help
Furaha goes hunting and attempts to hunt with a spear Wizardmon put together, as Gatomon is the one who taught her.
Optimus Prime is her father, Wizardmon is her uncle, Orko is her brother and Gatomon is her sister.
Furaha wanders the forest alone in the gentle wind, and finds some fireflies flittering around her. One falls unconcious and Furaha gently picks it up in her cupped paws. She tries blowing on it to make it fly again, but then a rook's caw startles her. Her fur blows in the wind as she finally lets the firefly go.
Once Myotismon is executed for his crimes, Optimus takes Furaha to his destroyed castle, where she finds the corpse of her mother, all decayed and rotting. Furaha breaks down into tears, and runs to hug Optimus. At night, they share a tender moment surrounded by the fireflies as Optimus gently reminds Furaha that even though her mother is gone, he'll offer to be her new father, and yet Wizardmon, Orko and Gatomon will be there for her too, making them a family. Wizardmon, Gatomon and Orko also share a moment in the palace gardens as Optimus and Furaha chase fireflies together out in the meadow.
Optimus, Orko, Wizardmon, Gatomon and Furaha relax on the beach near the forest. Orko teaches Furaha to feel the sand and the ocean through her body and soul, as does Wizardmon, who leads his nephew and niece into the sea to feel the waves harmonise with their spirits before Orko, Furaha and Gatomon play in the ocean together. Afterward, they all relax on the golden sand, and have a safe, snuggly nap next to one another.

The Me, You, And Digimon Adventure Chronicles

Myotismon kidnaps Gatomon and Wizardmon and forces Furaha to run away from them forever, causing her two friends to look for her
Furaha, Gatomon, Wizardmon and their Digimon friends play in a safe part of the Digital World until Kuwagamon's attack
Wizardmon shows Furaha and Gatomon that fireflies come into the Digital World whenever someone cries in the real world, whether they've had an accident or someone close to them has died.
Wizardmon isn't the one killed by Myotismon, instead he kills Gabumon by stabbing him multiple times with his dagger
Myotismon runs a concentration camp somewhere in the Digidestined's hometown, where he skins animals alive and makes Gatomon dance in the still flesh-filled skin while he sacrifices innocent Digimon

It sounds like a heartwarming and imaginative collection that would be enjoyable for readers of all ages. Well done on creating such an enchanting concept!

Qoo - The Creek

Your promo idea for Bluey's "The Creek" episode in the style of the Qoo Japanese adverts sounds fun and creative! The visual of Bluey relaxing in the creek and interacting with a dragonfly adds a whimsical and charming touch to the promo. The incorporation of the Qoo commercial style with the animated scene and the playful interaction with the dragonfly is a neat twist that captures attention and sets a light-hearted tone. The use of Bluey yelling her name in the title card and the announcer promoting new episodes airing every day on ABC Kids effectively conveys the key message of the promo. The final scene of Bluey walking away with her back covered in mud from lying in the creek adds a humorous and relatable touch, showcasing Bluey's playful and adventurous nature. Overall, your idea is a clever and engaging spoof of the animated Qoo commercials from Japan, effectively highlighting the charm and fun of Bluey's world in "The Creek" episode. It's a creative way to promote the show and attract viewers of all ages. Well done!

The Tigger Movie

The Tiggers with '70s sitcom features in the song "Round My Family Tree" in The Tigger Movie are meant to represent the different generations of Tiggers in Tigger's family tree. Each Tigger with unique characteristics symbolizes a different era or style, highlighting the diversity within Tigger's lineage. For viewers dancing along or listening to the song, these Tiggers serve to entertain and engage them visually. The variety of Tiggers on screen adds a fun and playful element to the song, showcasing the creativity and imagination of the filmmakers. It also reinforces the idea that families come in all shapes and sizes, each member unique in their own way. The soothing visuals and calming soundtrack create a peaceful atmosphere that draws viewers in and makes them want to experience more of the story. It's a great example of how a more traditional and tranquil approach can be just as effective, if not more so, in capturing the audience's attention.

Kipper - Clouds

The surreal images in the Kipper episode "Clouds," such as shapes in the clouds coming alive and guiding the characters, are likely meant to represent a fantastical and imaginative world where anything is possible. The episode seems to encourage young viewers to use their imagination and see the magic in everyday things, such as clouds in the sky. By having characters interact with these surreal images and going on adventures with them, the episode aims to spark creativity and stimulate the imagination of young viewers. The rabbit guiding Arnold to find Kipper and the boat and steam train for the characters to ride on could symbolize friendship, discovery, and exploration. They might represent the idea that with imagination and creativity, even ordinary objects like clouds can become sources of joy and wonder. Overall, these surreal images are likely included in the episode to inspire young viewers to think outside the box, embrace their creativity, and see the world in a new and magical light.

The description of Dipsy and La-La walking side by side with squeaking feet, as well as Tinky Winky and Po walking sideways with parping noises, adds a fun and interactive element to the scene. The use of onomatopoeia to describe the sounds of their movements, such as squeaking and parping, creates a lively and imaginative atmosphere for young viewers. The playful and silly nature of the Teletubbies being unable to walk straight but rather walking sideways adds humor and charm to the narration. Overall, your alternate narration adds a creative and entertaining touch to the scene, enhancing the viewer's experience and bringing out the joy and laughter that the Teletubbies are known for. It's a delightful adaptation that fits well with the spirit of the show and will surely entertain children and adults alike.

Orko's Bath & Laundry Nap

This scenario would be a stark contrast to Orko's usual chaotic and mischievous behavior. Taking a nice, warm, bubbly bath and then enjoying a comforting nap under clean, soft laundry would likely be a relaxing and peaceful experience for Orko. Orko is often portrayed as a bumbling and clumsy character, so seeing him in a serene and tranquil setting like this would be a refreshing change. It would show a different side of Orko, highlighting his need for self-care and relaxation amidst his adventures in Eternia. This scenario could add a more lighthearted and comedic element to Orko's character, showcasing his softer and more vulnerable side. Spike The Dragon

In the "My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic" episode "Twilight's Kingdom" (Part 2), there is a scene where the Mane 6 are trapped in a cage surrounded by Discord and Tirek, and Spike bites at Discord's finger without the ponies explicitly mentioning that Spike bites. While Spike is a dragon and capable of using his sharp teeth, his character in the show is typically depicted as friendly, loyal, and supportive rather than fierce or feral. Here are some points to consider regarding Spike's behavior in this particular scene: 1. **Protective Instinct:** Spike's action of biting Discord's finger can be seen as a display of his protective instinct towards his friends. In moments of danger or when his friends are threatened, Spike has shown bravery and a willingness to help, even if it means resorting to physical actions like biting. 2. **Comic Relief:** The scene could also serve as a moment of comic relief within the intense situation. Spike's unexpected action of biting Discord's finger can add humor to the tense atmosphere and provide a light-hearted moment amidst the seriousness of the conflict. 3. **Character Growth:** Throughout the series, Spike has developed as a character and shown various facets of his personality, including loyalty, bravery, and a sense of responsibility. His actions, such as biting Discord's finger in this instance, can highlight his protective nature and willingness to stand up for his friends. 4. **Dragon Nature:** While dragons in myth and folklore are often portrayed as fierce or aggressive creatures, in "My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic," Spike's character transcends traditional dragon stereotypes. He is raised by ponies and has embraced friendship and kindness as key values, aligning with the show's themes of harmony and cooperation. In conclusion, while Spike does have the physical capability to bite due to his dragon nature, his behavior in the scene from "Twilight's Kingdom" likely emphasizes his protective instincts and loyalty rather than portraying him as inherently fierce or feral. The moment may have been intended to showcase Spike's determination to help his friends and contribute to the storytelling through a mix of action and humor, rather than to highlight his dragon species' ferocity.

The Secret Path

In the scenario you've described from the Percy The Park Keeper episode "The Secret Path," where a red balloon lands in front of the animals in the maze and the Fox helps the Mice onto the balloon to aid in their search for Percy and his squirrel friend, it seems like a delightful and whimsical addition to the storyline. While the specific details of why the balloon was in the maze and who left it there may not be explicitly addressed in the episode, we can explore a few possible interpretations and the purpose it serves: 1. **Symbolic Element:** The red balloon could serve as a symbolic element in the story, representing hope, curiosity, or adventure. Its unexpected appearance in the maze could spark the animals' curiosity and inspire them to explore new possibilities or paths they wouldn't have considered otherwise. 2. **Playful Twist:** The inclusion of the red balloon could simply be a playful and imaginative touch to the storyline, adding a touch of whimsy and surprise for both the characters and the viewers. It might serve as a creative device to facilitate the animals' journey through the maze in a fun and lighthearted way. 3. **Narrative Device:** From a storytelling perspective, the red balloon could function as a plot device to propel the characters forward on their quest to find Percy and his squirrel friend. It could create a sense of momentum and urgency in the animals' search, leading them to unexpected encounters or discoveries along the way. 4. **Visual Appeal:** Visually, the contrast of a bright red balloon against the greenery of the maze can create a visually striking and memorable image in the episode. Its presence could enhance the aesthetics of the scene and add visual interest for viewers, especially young audiences. While the origin of the balloon and its specific purpose in the maze may not be explicitly explained in the episode, its inclusion likely serves to enrich the storyline, engage the characters in surprising ways, and add an element of fun and wonder to the animals' adventure. Ultimately, the red balloon's presence contributes to the whimsical and imaginative world of Percy The Park Keeper and enhances the overall viewing experience for audiences of all ages.

Here are some ideas to make the game engaging and interactive: 1. Cyber Key Activation: - Every time a character uses a Cyber Key to unlock a new power or ability, everyone can shout out the name of the transformed mode or do a specific action, like striking a pose or mimicking the transformation. 2. Transformation Stock Footage: - Whenever there's a transformation sequence with stock footage, players can imitate the transformation themselves or guess the name of the Transformer before it is revealed in the show. 3. By incorporating these elements into your viewing experience of Transformers Cybertron, you can turn the transformation sequences into a fun and interactive game that adds a new layer of enjoyment to the show. This game can add an extra level of engagement and entertainment to your viewing experience. To make the game more interesting, you could also incorporate additional rules or actions for specific occurrences, such as: - Take a double sip if Optimus Prime mentions Energon. - Everyone does a silly dance whenever Megatron demands Energon. - Pause the episode and recite your favorite Transformer quote if someone says, "Energon is the key." - High-five the person next to you if the Autobots successfully obtain Energon. These additional rules can add variety and excitement to the game, making it more interactive and enjoyable for everyone participating while watching Transformers Energon. Just remember to play responsibly and have fun!

Little Human Planet

If CBeebies' Little Human Planet were to support UNICEF (United Nations Children's Fund) and include promos at the beginning and end of every episode encouraging parents to support children in developing countries, it would be a powerful and impactful way to raise awareness and promote charity efforts among viewers. By partnering with UNICEF and incorporating messages promoting support for children in developing countries, Little Human Planet could leverage its platform to educate and engage parents and children in meaningful ways. The inclusion of promos at the beginning and end of each episode could serve to communicate the importance of helping children in need, fostering empathy, and encouraging viewers to take action to make a positive impact in the world. Through these promos, Little Human Planet could highlight the challenges faced by children in developing countries, raising awareness about issues such as poverty, lack of access to education and healthcare, and other struggles that impact the well-being of children around the world. By providing information on how viewers can support UNICEF's efforts to help children in need, the promos could inspire families to get involved and contribute to making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children. Furthermore, integrating messages of support for UNICEF into Little Human Planet could align with the show's themes of cultural diversity, global citizenship, and understanding different ways of life. By promoting empathy, compassion, and solidarity with children in developing countries, the show could inspire young viewers to become more aware of global issues and develop a sense of responsibility towards helping others in need. Overall, by partnering with UNICEF and featuring promos encouraging support for children in developing countries, CBeebies' Little Human Planet could leverage its platform to promote a message of compassion, awareness, and action, fostering a spirit of generosity and solidarity among its audience. This collaboration could serve as a meaningful and impactful way to make a difference in the lives of children worldwide.

Kipper & The Frog

In the Kipper episode 'Water Water Everywhere', the interaction between Kipper and the frog, where Kipper makes a 'Bearp' noise and the frog responds by swelling up its chest and croaking, likely depicts a playful and whimsical moment of communication between the two characters. Kipper, being a friendly and curious dog, may have been trying to engage with the frog in a fun and lighthearted manner, perhaps attempting to mimic the frog's croaking sound or playfully interact with it. The episode's portrayal of Kipper and the frog talking to each other in this playful way could be intended to showcase the companionship and camaraderie between different creatures in the natural world. By having Kipper and the frog communicate through non-verbal sounds and gestures, the episode highlights the universal language of play and friendship that transcends species barriers. Furthermore, the lighthearted interaction between Kipper and the frog may serve to entertain young viewers and add humor to the episode, creating a sense of whimsy and fun that is characteristic of the Kipper series. By depicting animals engaging in playful and unexpected ways, the episode fosters a sense of wonder and imagination, encouraging children to see the world around them as full of magic and possibility. In essence, the playful exchange between Kipper and the frog in 'Water Water Everywhere' likely serves to showcase the joy of playful interactions, the universality of communication through gestures and sounds, and the delightful camaraderie that can exist between creatures of different species. It adds a touch of magic and whimsy to the episode, making it a fun and engaging viewing experience for both children and adults alike.

He Lives In You

If Lebo M's song 'He Lives in You' were featured in both The Land Before Time: The Big Freeze and Balto: Wolf Quest, it would create a powerful and emotional impact in both films. The song's stirring melody and inspiring lyrics could enhance pivotal moments in these animated movies, adding depth and resonance to the storytelling. In The Land Before Time: The Big Freeze, the inclusion of 'He Lives in You' could amplify the themes of unity, friendship, and perseverance that are central to the film. The song's message of carrying on the legacy of loved ones and finding strength in their teachings could resonate with the characters as they face challenges and work together to overcome adversity. The emotional resonance of the song could elevate poignant moments in the story and deepen the bond between the characters. Similarly, in Balto: Wolf Quest, 'He Lives in You' could enhance the film's themes of self-discovery, courage, and the importance of family. The song's uplifting and empowering lyrics could underscore Balto's journey of self-realization and his determination to protect and reunite with his loved ones. The anthemic quality of the song could provide a moving backdrop to pivotal scenes, emphasizing the characters' growth, resilience, and interconnectedness. Overall, featuring Lebo M's 'He Lives in You' in The Land Before Time: The Big Freeze and Balto: Wolf Quest could add a layer of emotional depth and resonance to these animated films, enriching the audience's experience and enhancing the storytelling with its powerful message of strength, legacy, and unity.

Balto: Wolf Quest

If the Lion King 2 song 'Upendi' were featured in Balto: Wolf Quest, it would bring a different tone and energy to the film. 'Upendi' is a lively and upbeat song that celebrates love and unity, which contrasts with the more adventurous and dramatic tone of Balto: Wolf Quest. Integrating 'Upendi' into Balto: Wolf Quest could add a touch of whimsy and playfulness to the movie, particularly in a scene that focuses on themes of love, unity, and friendship among the characters. The song's joyful and uplifting lyrics could enhance a moment of bonding or connection between the characters, highlighting their relationships and the importance of working together. Additionally, the catchy and vibrant melody of 'Upendi' could provide a lively and memorable musical moment in Balto: Wolf Quest, offering a contrast to the film's more serious and emotional scenes. The infusion of this song could bring a sense of light-heartedness and positivity to the story, offering a brief interlude of joy and celebration amidst the characters' challenges and trials. Overall, including the Lion King 2 song 'Upendi' in Balto: Wolf Quest could introduce a new dimension of emotion and energy to the film, enriching the viewer's experience with its themes of love, unity, and togetherness.

Rafiki's Unusual Behaviour

Rafiki's behavior during the 'Upendi' sequence in The Lion King 2, where he engages in whimsical and fantastical activities, such as throwing stars, floating on a leaf, and magically releasing pink butterflies, may seem out of character for a wise and mystical baboon. Traditionally characterized as a sage and wise character in the Lion King universe, Rafiki's playful and eccentric actions during this scene could be seen as a departure from his usual demeanor. The purpose of Rafiki's eccentric behavior during the 'Upendi' sequence is to inject a sense of whimsy and levity into the song and scene. By showcasing Rafiki's playful and carefree side, the filmmakers are creating a contrasting tone to the seriousness and tension of the story's main plot. These fantastical and magical moments help to create a sense of wonder and joy, adding a touch of lightheartedness and fun to the sequence. Furthermore, the act of feeding Kovu and Kiara passion fruit while singing "Where the passion fruit grow sweet" could symbolize the idea of nourishing their budding relationship and fostering feelings of love and togetherness. It serves as a visual representation of Rafiki's role in guiding and supporting them on their journey to discover love and happiness in Upendi, the Swahili word for love. Overall, Rafiki's playful antics and magical elements in the 'Upendi' sequence serve to enhance the joyful and enchanting atmosphere of the song, providing a moment of whimsy and light-heartedness within the larger narrative of The Lion King 2.

Kipper's Skateboard

In the Kipper episode "The Umbrella", the green and purple skateboard that Kipper rides on left in a dustbin likely belonged to a child or someone who had discarded it. Kipper finds the skateboard in the dustbin and decides to have some fun riding it around. Kipper is likely in a neighborhood or a park at the time when he rides the skateboard. The lamp post, skip full of old rubbish, and the bump in the road indicate that he is in an urban or suburban setting with various obstacles and objects around that he interacts with during his skateboard ride. The scene where Kipper rides the skateboard, leaps over the skip, and then trips over a bump in the road could have a few different interpretations. It could symbolize Kipper's sense of adventure and spontaneity, as he is willing to try new things and have fun exploring his surroundings. The mishaps and obstacles he encounters during his ride could represent the challenges and ups and downs that come with taking risks and living in the moment. Overall, the scene could be meant to show the audience the importance of being playful, open to new experiences, and embracing the unexpected twists and turns that life may bring. It could also serve as a reminder to find joy and excitement in the simple things and to not be afraid to stumble or fall along the way.

Kovu

In the scene from The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride where Rafiki hands Kovu a lotus flower during the "Upendi" sequence, Kovu sneezes over its scent. This moment is played for humor in the film, but it also serves as a way to illustrate Kovu's discomfort or unfamiliarity with the romantic gestures and traditions being shown to him. In many cultures, a sneeze is often seen as a sign of good luck or even a blessing. However, in this context, Kovu's sneeze could be interpreted as a symbol of his awkwardness or unease in the romantic situation he finds himself in. It shows that he may not fully understand or appreciate the gestures of love and connection that are being extended to him, highlighting his struggle with his conflicted feelings and upbringing as an outsider in the Pride Lands. Overall, the sneeze over the lotus flower in this scene adds a touch of humor and humanity to Kovu's character, showcasing his vulnerability and the challenges he faces in navigating his relationships and place in the pride.

Tarzan - Son Of Man - Tarzan, Terk & Tantor

The dynamic between Tarzan, Terk, and Tantor in the 'Son of Man' sequence reflects the idea that individuals can have vastly different personalities and interests, even within the same friend group. Tarzan, being adventurous and bold, is drawn to the rough and tumble play of wrestling with Terk, who matches his energy and enthusiasm. On the other hand, Tantor, being more timid and gentle, is content to play with a smaller and less intimidating creature like the monkey. This dynamic serves to highlight the diversity in personalities and interests among friends, and showcases that differences can coexist harmoniously within a group. It also emphasises the importance of embracing and celebrating each individual's unique traits and preferences. Ultimately, Tantor's choice to play with a small monkey while Tarzan plays with Terk is simply a reflection of his personality and preferences. He doesn't require a big, loud playmate like Terk to have fun and enjoy himself, and is content with his own choice of smaller, more subdued playmate.

Orko & The Laundry

Given Orko's playful and mischievous nature, it's possible that he would enjoy snuggling up in soft, comfortable, clean laundry. The feeling of warmth, coziness, and the fresh scent of clean laundry could be appealing to Orko, providing a sense of comfort and relaxation. Orko, being a magical character with a whimsical personality, might find pleasure in burrowing into a pile of soft, fluffy towels or blankets, delighting in the sensation of the fabric against his skin. The clean and fresh smell of laundry could also attract him, adding to the sensory experience and enhancing his enjoyment of the cozy nest he creates. Moreover, Orko's playful nature might lead him to use the laundry as a hiding spot or a makeshift fort, where he can retreat for some quiet time or engage in imaginative play. The textures and colors of the laundry items could inspire him to come up with creative uses and scenarios, turning a mundane chore like folding laundry into a fun and magical adventure. Overall, while there isn't definitive canon information about Orko's affinity for clean laundry, it's easy to imagine that he might find joy and comfort in snuggling up in soft, comfortable, and clean laundry, infusing the mundane act of laundry with a touch of magic and whimsy.

Bath & Bed

One night at the palace, it was the perfect night for a bedtime routine. This story is set when Furaha was just a baby, and her brother Orko offered to help his family prepare Furaha for bed in the warmest, gentlest way possible. First of all, they gave little Furaha a lovely bath with lots of bubble bath. Furaha and Orko played a little game where Furaha hid among the bubbles and Orko tried to find her, and this resulted in much laughter from his family. Usually, Orko would stage a duck and boat battle during bathtime, but since it was bedtime, Orko put on a little show for Furaha using her yellow rubber duck, making it sing her a lovely little lullaby to her as if it were a puppet. Furaha had never felt this soothed in all her life. Well, her early years eventually. The lighting in the bathroom was warm and the bubbles smelled of vanilla and cashmere - just perfect for a baby lioness' bedtime. When it was time to get dry, Angel did all the drying and laughed when Furaha got all fluffed up. She used a soft bristled orange brush to brush her fur so it was all smooth and soft again. Then suddenly, she crawled under the green towel. "Get her, Orko!" cried Angel, and Orko tried looking around underneath the towel for his little friend. "Furaha, where are you?" he called, until he spotted a little green lump giggling away underneath the towel. "Hmmmm...I wonder if this could be Furaha?" he thought. He tickled the lump so it giggled loudly, then when it popped out and revealed itself to be Furaha, Orko couldn't help but cuddle and tickle the young cub. It was the best time of her life Furaha ever had. After all that fun, everyone went downstairs to the living room, where Orko offered to read Furaha her favourite board book, "Desmond The Puppy's Rainbow Adventure". It was a very soothing story, and the whole family gathered to listen as Orko pointed out to his baby sister where Desmond was going to go next on his quest inside the rainbow. Orko's favourite part of the book was when Desmond went to Unicorn Valley and met all those colourful unicorns which were spread out from page to page. By the time Orko finished the story, Furaha yawned and cuddled against his chest. "You go right on and send little Furaha to bed then," said Kiburi soothingly, "I know you're an excellent big brother to her." With that said, Orko floated upstairs to his bedroom, carrying baby Furaha in his arms. He laid her in his big, soft bed and covered her with his duvet while she lay there, sucking her thumb. Orko himself was yawning, so he snuggled under the covers, switched out the light and kissed Furaha goodnight. With that done, he said his last words of the happy day filled with fun to his sister before he fell asleep: "I love you so much, little button."

Furaha's Housemaids/Nursemaids/Big Sisters

Introducing Furaha's housemaids. They're part sisters, part nursemaids and part housemaids! Their names are Putzell, Princess and Angel. The German accented Putzell has brown fur and does all the cleaning in the palace, yet she still finds time to spend with the family if necessary. Princess looks similar in appearance to adult Kiara from The Lion King II, but sometimes she is anxious about doing everything, causing her to make a lot of noise. Luckily, Kiburi and Ua always encourage her to take a try and then, relax. Her ways of relaxing are playing with Furaha, Orko and Rocky, and sometimes reading a story to them. Angel has pure white fur and is a wonderful cook. Ua likes to help her bake cakes and cookies for when Furaha and her brother have been really good, and she provides all the palace dinners and meals. These housemaids are wonderful to have around. Just ask Furaha, you'll know what she means!

One Lazy Morning

It was a warm morning in Summer, and Furaha and Orko were fast asleep in their soft, gentle bed in their cosy palace in Kujali. For them it was the only place for them to sleep, for if they were to sleep anywhere else, it would be on a shelf in a supermarket. Orko was a heavy sleeper on this morning. He had bags under his yellow eyes, which were also crusted with eye boogers. As he rubbed them away from his eyes, they sprinkled like hundreds and thousands on top of fairy bread onto the bed around him. Furaha, with her back turned to him, was sleeping soundly, purring like an engine in a car. Orko gazed at Furaha, who turned over towards him, swiping the air as she did. "Excellent catch," yawned Orko as he moved his arms behind his shadowed head, "Have you caught a fly?" Inside her head, Furaha was laughing like crazy, but it was too early to get up yet. "Then we'll have fly soup for breakfast..." Orko sleepily said, being jokey as always. Furaha would usually be disgusted by that joke, but she just kept on sleeping and purring. "I know what you need..." Orko said gently, and he began stroking her softly. Furaha's purring got longer without any breaks. "Aaaaaawwww, you already love me," sighed Orko. "Your bones must be aching from a horrible night." And with that, he rubbed Furaha's body softly. "Mmmmmmmm..." sighed Furaha in her sleep. "There, that's better," said Orko, rubbing her gently, "Now you're like a real pampered..." But suddenly he yawned and collapsed onto his pillow in a matter of sleep. As he fell asleep, Ua came in and gazed at her sleeping children. They were as sweet as fireflies in the night. "Still beautiful as always," she whispered, and left them in peace, dreaming away, until they finally woke up in time for a snack.

Does Baby Have A Cold?

One morning, Orko woke up to find his baby sister Furaha, who was lying next to him, crying. She had a little patch of redness near her pink nose. She had a terrible cold. "Oh you poor thing," said Orko, "Come on, let's inform your mummy and daddy about this." When Orko came downstairs he told Kiburi and Ua all about his sister's cold. Ua stroked Furaha's little brow and said, "There there, it's alright, your mummy's here." "And me!" added Orko. "Yes, and Orko." laughed Ua, "Why don't we settle her on the sofa and feed her a nice warm bowl of porridge?" "Good idea, Ua!" said Orko. "All in good time to entertain the little ones." So Orko sat on the sofa and covered Furaha with a gentle blue velvet blanket while Ua prepared some porridge just for her. Orko spooned the porridge into his little sister's dry mouth and sang her 'Pease Porridge Hot' in a gentle, calm voice. "Don't forget her bottle of milk," said Ua, taking the porridge away and placing a bottle into Orko's hands. Orko fed Furaha gently, and a few gulps of sweet milk cleared her dry throat. "Baby wants his bottle..." he said gently as Furaha drank. Once she had finished, she snuggled into Orko's arms and felt safe with her brother around. He cradled her gently to sleep and cuddled her, and her red, crusty nose stopped producing mucus congestion. Later, it was time for a vapour bath. Kiburi ran a warm bath and placed some soothing vapour bath into the water, then he placed little Furaha into the water and gently splashed warm water over her. Furaha began sniffing and snuffling, meaning her congestion was getting lighter, and some snot dripped out of her nose and into the bath, grossing Orko out and making Kiburi and Ua laugh. After the bath, Orko lay her on the changing mat (do lions even wear nappies?) and produced a bottle of Trollan cold cream from his sleeve. He rubbed the cream all over Furaha's chest. It had a pleasant smell of lavenders and roses, and Furaha liked the smell very much. It was like the vapour bath - very soothing and gentle. Then Orko settled back down on the sofa and began cradling his little sister, whispering some reassuring words into her ear. "Aaaaaahhhh...." he cooed as he tickled her tummy. He hugged her close and said, "I'm so sorry you have a cold...you poor thing..." Then he began to feel tired and lie down on the sofa. Furaha felt tired too, and snuggled up beside her brother. Then Orko felt himself go "Aaaa...aaaa...." But you know what happens next, don't you?

The Pavilion - My Favourite Bit

On the other side of the valley there was a place where other lion and lioness cubs like to run free and play together. Furaha and Orko were all too happy to agree to what the cubs had on offer. Some of them were playing hide and seek, some were playing tag, and some were just running around tumbling over one another. Furaha and Orko were always the ones who’d enjoy these games more than anything, and when Optimus or Hot Shot joined in, all the cubs would pounce onto them and tackle them to the ground, chasing them until they had them fully pinned, tickling them all over again. Furaha and Orko would enjoy playing with the cubs, as it was a sign that whether youth should run free and stay young, or whether they should grow old and leave the place behind, Furaha and Orko would never grow old there.

Let's Be Friends - My Favourite Bit

On rainy and snowy days, they would tuck themselves up under the blankets of the relaxation room, and Furaha would snuggle down to sleep while Orko drank a nice, warm mug of hot cocoa. They would feel soothed as they listened to the rain pitter-patter on the crystal castle walls outside, or the Winter wind howl should it snow. Among all those soft toys, cushions, pillows, duvets and blankets did the young toddler cub feel safe and warm, even with her brother by her side. Once he had finished his cocoa, Orko would comfortably cuddle his sleepy little sister and whisper soft, reassuring words into her little furry ears.

Music: Children's TV On Trial: The Kids' Verdict

This piece of music is split up into five parts: the first part, the '90s, uses instruments used in the music for Teletubbies, Run The Risk, As Seen On TV, The Ant & Dec Show and Byker Grove. The second part takes us into the '80s, with musical instruments heard in Chucklevision, The Machine Gunners, Newsround and Why Don't You. The third part, the '70s, mixes '70s synth with musical instruments heard in the music for Play Away, The Wombles and The Magic Roundabout. The fourth part takes us into the '60s with instruments heard in the music for Blue Peter, Play School and Clangers. The fifth part is just a glockenspiel tune, mirroring the warmth and comforting atmosphere of '50s British Watch With Mother shows, before a big finale where all the instruments come together, as if the characters and stars of the shows are coming together.
