6 Ways To Experience Freedom With Your Baby

Recent restrictions and a year spent at home due to Covid-19 mean your baby has never got a chance to explore the outside world with you - and for you, never a chance to unleash your inner kid. Here are six ways to unleash your freedom with your baby now that Covid restrictions have eased:
  1. Take a day off work. Who needs work when you're a stay at home mum?! Leave work to rot in dust and spend time playing with your baby all day, whether you're watching his first steps or taking a bath with him. Don't be such a helicopter parent! And by helicopter parent, it's a parent who doesn't spend time with his or her kids.
  2. Swim in the lake without any clothes on. On your next camping trip, break all the rules and do a bit of natural swimming with your baby. Introduce your baby to your natural roots and where we all come from - not that you're introducing your child to evolution.
  3. Spend a day at the beach. Let your child roam freely along the beach in search of shells, seaweed and other baby friendly natural seashore material. Help your child make sandcastles, splash in the sea and share a well-earned ice cream after a long day of play.
  4. Don't sweat the small stuff. Leave the dishes piling, the housework half finished and take a moment to relax and have a well earned snooze with your baby. You earned it, it's your life, know what to do with it.
  5. Go into the middle of nowhere. Taking your baby to a surprise place called 'Nowhere' makes it more interesting to see where you want to go, where you want to play with your baby. Leave all those work calls and emails and spend the day playing with your baby in a secret location. Who knows, it might be YOUR favourite place too.
  6. Introduce your baby to older children. If you have an older child who's becoming a big sibling for the first time, invite some of his or her friends round to share in taking care of his or her baby brother or sister. Sometime, if you're in the park and your child can walk, allow your child to run off and play with the older kids, just for fun's sake!
