Investing For An Art Studio

  1. Draw Your Dream Jar
Find a clear jar or a box and decorate it with a picture of the art studio you want—easels, paints, brushes and all. Every time you look at it, you’ll feel that happy spark of “I’m getting closer!”

  2. Split Your Allowance (or Pocket Money)
When you get any money—birthday gifts, chores allowance, lemonade-stand earnings—divide it into three parts:

    • Spend Jar for treats and small fun stuff

    • Save Jar for things you want soon

    • Invest Jar for your art studio dream
Knowing exactly where every coin goes makes saving feel like a game!

  3. Give Your “Invest Jar” a Little Superpower

    • Ask an adult to open a kids-friendly savings or Junior ISA account in the UK (these often pay a bit of interest). Each month, pop the contents of your Invest Jar into that account so it grows a little all on its own.

    • If you’re a bit older, try a micro-investing app with fractional shares—these let you buy tiny bits of real company stock with just a couple of pounds. Even that small amount can grow over months and years!

  4. Track Your Magic with Stickers
Cut out star-shaped stickers and stick one onto your jar or a chart each time you add money. When you reach 10 stars, celebrate with a little art treat—maybe a new sketchbook page or a special pencil.

  5. Watch Your Garden Grow
Thanks to compound interest (that’s when your savings earn a little extra, and then that extra earns even more), your Invest Jar becomes a tiny garden that keeps sprouting new coins. Over time—sometimes just a few months—you’ll see the pile grow bigger than you expect!

💖 Why It Works:

  • You see progress every day (your decorated jar!)

  • You learn to make choices (spend vs. save vs. invest)

  • You get to enjoy little rewards (stickers, treats)

  • You let a savings account or micro-investing do the quiet work of growing your money
