Scream Street Thought Of The Day - Resus Goes Viral [A Conversation With Resus]

ME: You enjoying your hot chocolate, Resus?
RESUS: Yeah. It's just as relaxing as watching Scream Street on CBBC.
ME: If only I did see you first in 2015, then my life would be complete.
RESUS: But you didn't! My only wish was to see you but you weren't bothered at the time. Last year, my wish had come true, and so had Luke's and Cleo's. All of us had that wish to see you and we had to wait three years! Three, whole, years!
ME: Three years? Resus....I'm sorry I ignored you. If I see Luke and Cleo, I should apologise to them too - Scream Street should be the best show on CBBC - apart from Strange Hill High of course. These days, it's airing on weekends. Where will Scream Street be once Boy Girl Dog Cat Mouse Cheese airs in its place?
RESUS: In the Underlands, presumably.
ME: No, Resus, it'll hold a special place in the hearts of autistic CBBC viewers.
RESUS: You really mean it?
ME: Mmm-hmm.
RESUS: You mean Scream Street is really CBBC's first ever show for children with autism?! YES!
[Resus and I hug]
RESUS: Sybil! You shouldn't have! Mitchell had been telling us all about how you saw Strange Hill High, and now for three years we have been asking for you. Our wish has finally come true - we found someone who appreciates us.
ME: And that someone is me.
RESUS: (sobs) I knew it. I knew I'd hear these words. I wish Luke and Cleo were here, then they'd be crying their eyes out too.
ME: There, there. No need to cry. I appreciate why vampires burst into tears, even during moments like this.
[I wipe away Resus' tears]
RESUS: This might be the last week of Scream Street, but at least Luke, Cleo and I will still reign in your heart. And if Scream Street comes back, we'll celebrate the only way we know how - by writing a thank you letter to CBBC.
ME: It's you who should be giving thanks to me.
RESUS: Ha-ha!
[I leap off the sofa and race upstairs. Resus races up after me, and I leap into bed. Resus looks around for me]
RESUS: Where are you?
ME: Under here!
RESUS: [leaps under the duvet] Got you!
[Both of us laugh]
ME: Good night, Resus.
RESUS: [yawns] Goodnight....
