Slomo: The Untold Story - Introduction

Demeter City. A place of neon lights and shadowed alleys, where aliens and humans coexist in a tangled web of progress and peril. At the very heart of its crime-fighting efforts sits the 88th Precinct — a towering, steel-clad complex pulsing with sirens, clattering footsteps, and the occasional explosion. Within its chrome-lined corridors and bustling briefing rooms, Lieutenant Patrick Brogan leads a team of determined officers, navigating the shifting chaos of alien gangs, rogue tech, and interstellar politics. He’s backed by a tough crew — Officer Castle, Officer Haldane, and the ever-stalwart Took — all of them seasoned in the art of keeping order in a city that rarely sleeps.

But this story isn’t about Brogan. Not really. This is the untold story of someone else. Someone smaller. Rounder. Faster. And much more curious.

Meet Slomo.

Officially, he’s classified as a civilian-comms droid, model S-31-L0-M0. To everyone else in the precinct, he’s just Slomo — a fast-talking, data-processing whirlwind on wheels with more heart than circuitry. Painted in precinct white with a glowing dome of endless blinking lights, Slomo is more than a rolling secretary. He’s a friend. A listener. A brave little bot with an even braver spark inside.

But to understand who Slomo is, we must first go back — way back — to the day he was born.

It wasn’t in a lab, exactly. More like a workshop tucked behind a neon-lit alley in the industrial quarter, where sparks flew and servo-arms danced through the night. It was there that a quiet engineer, long forgotten by the precinct records, took a standard-issue baby droid chassis and did something unprecedented. He inserted a single string of experimental data, an adaptive memory thread unlike any other, into the empty processor core. That moment wasn’t logged or documented. But it was the moment Slomo became Slomo.

As a baby, Slomo was unlike any other prototype. He didn’t simply react to inputs — he responded to the world with glee. He rolled across cleanroom floors chasing light reflections, giggled in bursts of static when his memory banks were tickled, and once escaped a diagnostics pod just to watch the stars from a roof vent. He was curious, joyful, and stubborn in the way only the very young and very alive can be.

As he grew, so did his ambitions. Slomo didn’t want to be scrapped or sold or plugged into a wall for life. He wanted to help. He watched the precinct with wide photoreceptors, studied the officers through surveillance feeds, and memorised every case file he could get his circuits on. He even started recording his own detective dramas in the storage closet using recycled evidence and hand-drawn backdrops. The 88th Precinct wasn’t just his home — it was his dream.

So, when he hit his teenage years — a time when most computers get reprogrammed or tossed — Slomo applied for a position. Not as an officer, not yet. He knew his limits. Instead, he asked to be the precinct secretary. He wanted to be part of the system, to learn the ropes, to serve in his own small way. And though some scoffed, Brogan himself saw the fire in those flickering optics. He was hired.

Slomo may not be as powerful as the Earth-bound computers we’re used to. He doesn’t sit behind a screen, churning numbers or running spreadsheets. He lives. He moves. He speaks. And above all — he wants. Unlike our passive machines, Slomo seeks out adventure like a moth to a plasma flame. No corridor can contain him, no case file can satisfy him completely. He rolls beyond his programming, propelled by a desire to know, to feel, to do.

Even now, with years of service under his belt and more memory upgrades than he can count, Slomo dreams of breaking free of the routine. He’s not content being a glorified filing system. He wants to explore. To solve mysteries. To taste danger and roll back grinning. And now — finally — his chance has come.

Sure, he still gets haunted by nightmares. Being blasted out of the airlock without warning. That awful moment when Cyborg tore his head clean off during the precinct siege. Those memories crackle in the background of his system like corrupted audio files. But he doesn’t let them stop him. They’re just fragments. And Slomo is not so easily broken. In fact, he might just be indestructible.

This is not just another case file from the 88th Precinct. This is Slomo’s untold story — a series of surprising, thrilling, and oddly heartwarming adventures lived outside the harsh fluorescents of police life. These are his moments, his truths, his wild, wandering tales. And this… this is where our story begins.

My Brother Slomo

There’s something so comforting about the idea of spending time with Slomo from Space Precinct. He’s not just a robot. He’s the kind of friend, the kind of brother, who doesn’t need to say much to make you feel seen. If I could spend a whole day with him, I think I’d treat him the way a big sister would treat her curious, quiet robot brother—someone full of innocent wonder and mechanical kindness.

We’d start our day with something simple. Maybe I’d show him how to make cocoa—not that he’d drink it, of course, but I think he’d love watching the steam rise from the cup. I’d place it in front of him anyway, just for the ritual of it. Then I’d sit beside him, reading aloud from one of my favorite books, while he tilted his head in that twitchy, almost childlike way he has when he’s processing something deeply.

We could walk through a quiet garden or just sit by a window watching the weather shift. Slomo might beep thoughtfully, maybe flash a little light, maybe record a bird’s call just to play it back to me later like a gift. His memory would be a treasure trove of everything I said, every little detail I thought he'd missed—but he wouldn’t forget a thing.

If I got tired, I think he’d find the perfect music—nothing too loud, just soft, comforting ambient tunes—and play them from his internal systems. Maybe he’d even hum along, in his own quirky electronic way. I’d rest my head on his smooth, solid shoulder, feeling safe and steady like the whole world could pause around us.

Later in the day, if we wanted a little adventure, we’d pretend we were in Demeter City, solving gentle mysteries. I’d give him a badge made of paper, and he’d flash his lights in delight. Maybe we’d investigate why the toaster isn’t working or follow the trail of cookie crumbs back to a mischievous pet. I’d call him “Officer Slomo,” and he’d bleep with pride.

At night, I’d read to him again—this time something dreamy and poetic. Maybe a bedtime story about stars and quiet cities and lonely robots who find someone who understands them. I’d tuck a little soft scarf around his neck, even if he doesn’t feel cold. He’d blink slowly, like a nod, and store the story away forever.

He wouldn’t say “thank you,” but I’d know he meant it. Because with Slomo, love is quiet. It’s in the gentle hum of his processor, in the careful way he follows you with his eyes, in the soft beep that tells you he’s there.

Spending time with Slomo would be like watching the sun set on a calm day—you don’t need anything loud or exciting. Just the sense that everything is okay, and someone is beside you, holding the moment still.

And I’d whisper goodnight to him, like a sister would.

Return To Rug Island

On a peaceful day painted in pastels and scattered crayon stubs, Bingo and Lila find themselves once again in the soft, sacred haven of Rug Island—a world where the grass rolls like waves, and the rules of grown-up life fall away like petals in the wind. This lovely piece of fanart by Instagram artist N1cky captures the essence of that magic. Side by side, these two young friends lay belly-up on the gentle green, their eyes wide with joy and mischief, flower crowns nestled neatly on their heads like badges of childhood’s tender royalty.

Bingo, with her usual quiet spark, looks at Lila with that knowing gaze of pure friendship, a look that says “we’re here, just us, and nothing else matters.” Lila beams back, her lilac fur glowing against the leafy softness of Rug Island, her carefree pose matching Bingo’s perfectly as if the two were born to play this exact game together. Around them lie crayons—red, blue, green, purple—forgotten tools of imagination mid-flight, telling us they’ve just finished a drawing, a map, a secret message known only to them. Or perhaps those crayons were simply part of the landscape, the way colors bloom naturally on Rug Island, born of laughter and long afternoons.

N1cky’s style stays true to the soft lines and simple warmth of Bluey while adding a gentle dreamlike haze that makes this moment feel timeless, suspended. There’s a whisper of spring in the air, hinted at by the fresh greens and daisy-tipped flower crowns. The crowns aren’t just pretty decorations—they’re declarations of the world these two have created, where the only laws are kindness, giggles, and staying in the moment. In this quiet little slice of joy, the world outside Rug Island—school, chores, growing up—doesn’t exist.

This fanart reminds us why Bluey resonates so deeply. It isn’t just the stories; it’s the pauses in between—the bits of wonder, the moments of soft connection, and the shared dreams that only children understand. Bingo and Lila don’t need anything more than each other, a blanket of grass, and a few scattered crayons. That’s enough for a whole world.

Thank you, N1cky, for capturing such a beautiful breath in time. Rug Island lives on.

Ice Cream Art

Let’s face it—ice cream already makes life better. It’s the cold, creamy joy that saves hot summer days, comforts us on long nights, and adds sprinkles to our happiest memories. But what if we could take that joy even further? What if we could see the sweetness in places we least expect it?

That’s where ice cream art comes in.

From whimsical paintings of melty cones to colorful sculptures that drip with imagination, ice cream art reminds us of something very important: not everything in life has to be serious. Sometimes, we need a swirl of color, a dash of whimsy, and a reminder that delight can be found in the softest, most unexpected places.

The Power of Playful Aesthetics

We live in a world that often demands hustle and productivity. Ice cream art offers a quiet rebellion—a scoop of silliness in a world that takes itself too seriously. Whether it's a watercolor print of a strawberry swirl cone or a street mural of a giant waffle cone towering over the city skyline, these visual treats bring us back to something childlike and real. They whisper, “Hey. Slow down. Smile a little.”

It’s for Everyone

Ice cream art is instantly recognizable, instantly nostalgic, and instantly connective. You don’t have to understand fine art to fall in love with a pastel-hued popsicle painting. You just feel it. It brings generations together—kids, adults, grandparents alike—because everyone has a memory tied to that first cold lick on a hot day.

A Treat for the Senses

Even though it’s visual, ice cream art tickles all the senses. Just looking at a scoop rendered in glossy ceramic or a digital drawing of a banana split can trigger taste memories, scent recollections, and feelings of sheer comfort. It’s edible joy turned into visual poetry.

Where to Find It

Start with your local café. Some indie places already embrace ice cream art in the form of quirky chalkboard menus or hand-painted walls. Instagram and Etsy are full of talented artists creating everything from minimalist prints of neapolitan bars to surrealist ice cream dreamscapes. Or go wild and make your own—grab some paint, collage materials, or even modeling clay and build your own dessert utopia.

In the end, ice cream art doesn’t just celebrate a dessert—it celebrates joy, memory, and human connection. So let’s add more of it to our lives. Let’s hang it on our walls, doodle it in our notebooks, and let it melt our hearts a little every day.

Because honestly? Life needs more sprinkles.

Joie Unicorn Corn Holders

I tried the Joie Unicorn Corn Holders for the first time today, and I have to say—these little guys brought a whole new level of joy to eating corn on the cob! Not only are they ridiculously cute (I mean, who wouldn’t want a unicorn helping them eat dinner?), but they’re also incredibly functional. The stainless steel prongs held the corn firmly, and the chunky unicorn body gave me a surprisingly good grip—no slipping or sliding, even with buttered corn!

They’re perfect for small hands or anyone who likes a touch of whimsy at the table. Plus, they sparked a few laughs and smiles, which is always a bonus. The quality feels solid, and they’re easy to clean too.

Would I recommend them? Absolutely. Whether you're hosting a BBQ or just want to make a Tuesday dinner a bit more magical, these unicorn holders are a charming little upgrade.

Funwares T-Rex Excavation Plate

I had the absolute most prehistoric dinner tonight thanks to the Funwares T-Rex Excavation Plate! Picture this: turkey dinosaurs nestled perfectly in the fossil-shaped compartments, with a mountain of mashed potatoes scooped lovingly into the dino ribs. It felt like I was digging into a real archaeological feast!

Each section of the plate is shaped like a fossil pit with cartoonish dinosaur skeletons at the bottom, and it made dinner way more exciting. The little crane and bucket attachment was an unexpected delight — I pretended it was hauling mashed potatoes from a muddy dig site onto my fork. (Totally optional, but 100% fun.)

The plate is sturdy, the design is awesome, and the raised edges kept all my food in place without spilling into other compartments — a huge win for anyone who hates their gravy invading the veggie zone.

Overall, it turned an ordinary turkey dino-and-mash dinner into a full-on Jurassic adventure. Highly recommended for dino lovers of all ages — just beware, you might start roaring between bites.

5/5 Fossil Finds 🌟

Evriholder Hot Dog Slicer

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 — The Cutest Way to Make a Hot Dog!

I recently got the Evriholder Hot Dog Holder, and honestly? It’s one of those things I didn’t know I needed until I had it. It looks like a cheerful dachshund, and yes — that’s exactly what sold me. But it turns out, it’s actually super practical too!

The process is really simple: just place your hot dog bun inside the dog-shaped holder, use the blue slicer tool to make even slots in your hot dog, then nestle it into the bun and go wild with toppings. The slicer makes it really easy to get those nice even cuts that let the hot dog cook better and soak in more flavor.

It’s also great for kids — or, let’s be honest, adults who are kids at heart. The dog design makes it feel like more of a toy than a kitchen tool, which means it turns a regular hot dog night into a little event.

Cleanup is easy too — just rinse it off or pop it in the dishwasher. No fiddly pieces, no mess.

Pros:

  • Adorable dachshund design

  • Easy to use slicer for perfect hot dog cuts

  • Makes hot dogs more fun (especially for kids)

  • Dishwasher-safe

Cons:

  • Only holds standard-sized buns, so footlong lovers beware!

If you're looking to add a bit of charm and fun to your kitchen or a family BBQ, this little pup gets the job done with style. I absolutely love it!

Happy Bubble Lilo & Stitch Bubble Bath

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I absolutely adore this bubble bath! The first thing I noticed was how gentle and sweet the Tropical Sugar scent is—light and comforting, not overpowering at all. It smells like a warm day in paradise with a soft breeze coming through a candy shop. 🌸🍬

The bubbles are rich and long-lasting—perfect for a long soak after a busy day. I poured a generous amount into running water and was greeted with a bath full of soft, foamy bubbles that made me feel like I was in a Stitch-themed spa. 🛁💜

What really makes this special is the fact that it’s paraben-free, phthalate-free, dye-free, and tear-free, which gave me peace of mind knowing it’s formulated with sensitive skin in mind. It didn’t dry me out at all—in fact, my skin felt soft and cozy afterward.

And of course, the bottle design is just too cute. Little Stitch peeking up at you while you soak? Instant serotonin. This would make such a lovely gift for Disney lovers or anyone who wants to make bath time a little more magical.

Highly recommend if you're looking for something fun, gentle, and sweet-smelling for your bath routine. 💖🧼

Disney Stitch Bath Time Books

I just tried the Bath Time Books: Stitch set for the first time, and it was an instant hit! As a fan of Lilo & Stitch, I was curious how they'd translate that fun, mischievous energy into a bath time activity—and I’m happy to say it completely delivered.

The set includes a waterproof Stitch-themed bath book, six colorful suction cup characters (including Lilo, Stitch, Angel, and others), and a handy mesh bag for drying and storing everything afterward. The book itself is soft, squishy, and perfect for little hands (and even grown-up fans looking for a nostalgic soak!). It features cute illustrations and simple, playful storytelling that makes bath time feel like a mini beach vacation in Hawaii.

The suction cup characters are surprisingly well-made. They stick easily to tile and the side of the tub, and the designs are vibrant and true to the characters. I found myself arranging them into little bath time stories—and they stayed in place even when splashed.

Overall, it’s a delightful little set that adds charm, colour, and a touch of Disney magic to bath time. Ideal for kids aged 2 and up, but honestly? Stitch fans of any age will enjoy it too.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Fun, cute, and practical. Stitch would totally approve.

Disney Cars Bath Caddy

I recently tried the Disney Cars Bath Caddy, and I have to say—it's a real splash of fun! The caddy comes with five adorable bath toys based on characters from Cars, and each one is super soft, squeezable, and perfect for little hands. I especially loved how expressive the faces are; they really capture the personalities of Mater, Lightning McQueen, and the others in a cute, toddler-friendly way.

The toys float well and don’t fill up with water too easily, which is a big plus for avoiding mold. They're a great size—not too small, so they’re safe, but also not bulky, which keeps bathtime easy and clutter-free.

The clear red caddy with the handle is a nice bonus. It's sturdy and has drainage holes, so everything dries out after bathtime. It keeps all the toys together neatly, and I can just scoop them up when we’re done and tuck them away. The Cars-themed sticker on the front is a lovely touch too.

Overall, it’s one of those bath toys that doesn’t just get ignored after a few uses. The characters make it feel like playtime every time—and honestly, even I found them charming. Highly recommend for any Cars fan or anyone looking to make bathtime more exciting and organized.

Magnetic Mix & Match Jungle Animals

I absolutely loved playing with the Magnetic Mix & Match Jungle Animal toys! The moment I opened the box, I was already giggling—these animals are wild in the best way. The magnets are strong enough to hold the parts together securely, but not so strong that little hands (or mine, I’ll admit!) can’t pull them apart and swap them around easily.

The best part? Creating the silliest animal combos imaginable. A giraffe head on crocodile legs with a tiger belly? Yes, please! Each piece is chunky and colorful, perfect for toddlers—but honestly, I had just as much fun as any 2-year-old would.

What I really appreciated is how the set encourages creativity and storytelling. I found myself giving each silly creature a personality and coming up with mini adventures for them. The quality feels solid and the plastic is smooth and safe to handle—no sharp edges.

These toys would be a hit at any playdate or quiet afternoon, and they’re great for developing motor skills and a sense of humor. I’m already eyeing up the dinosaur or vehicle versions for next time!

If you’re looking for a toy that sparks giggles, creativity, and hours of mix-n-match fun, this one’s a keeper.

Target's Sun Squad Silicone Drink Pouches

I just tried the Sun Squad Silicone Drink Pouches from Target for the first time, and I’m genuinely surprised by how fun and functional they are! These colorful little pouches turned my ordinary drinks into a party. First of all, the colors are gorgeous—a perfect pastel mix of blue, pink, mint, and yellow. They instantly brightened up my kitchen counter and made me feel like I was at a summer picnic.

They’re soft, flexible, and stand up on their own once filled. I tried pouring juice and even a homemade smoothie into one, and the wide opening made it super easy—no mess at all. The straws are sturdy and match the pouch colors, which is such a cute touch. Also, they seal really well. I tipped one over accidentally and not a drop leaked out.

What I love most is how reusable and eco-friendly they are. No more tossing out juice boxes or plastic bottles. After I was done, a quick rinse with warm soapy water was all it took to clean them.

I can already see myself using these all summer—on picnics, beach days, or just lounging in the backyard. If you’re looking for a practical yet cheerful way to enjoy your drinks, I totally recommend these pouches. Bonus: they make hydration feel a lot more fun!

Meet Marmalade & Cloudy!

Instagram artist @quillinkie has once again blessed the Bluey fan community with an adorable duo of original characters that radiate personality and warmth. Meet Marmalade and Cloudy—two school-aged pups who brighten up every frame with their distinct looks and lively bond.

Marmalade, the golden-orange pup with creamy fur and subtle white markings, is the slightly more grounded of the two. He’s cautious but not shy, with a strong sense of fairness and a deep love for collecting shiny pebbles and bottle caps. His tail always wags when he spots a playground slide or hears the jingle of the ice cream van.

His best friend Cloudy is a cheerful, imaginative blue-and-cream pup with playful dapples and a bit of a wild side. He’s the type to leap into puddles without thinking twice or spin himself dizzy in the grass until he topples over, laughing. Cloudy loves inventing games on the spot—his favorite is “Sky Boats,” where he and Marmalade pretend the clouds above are boats sailing to magical lands.

On weekends, the park is their kingdom. Marmalade brings snacks carefully packed in a reused lunchbox, while Cloudy insists on bringing an old shoebox filled with random “treasures” like feathers, leaves, and a tiny superhero figurine he swears is magical. They run obstacle courses between the swings and trees, turn the jungle gym into a space rocket, and make up songs while bouncing on the springy see-saw.

After school, their adventures continue on the way home. They take the long route just to walk past the community garden, where they each have a tiny patch of dirt they’re allowed to dig in—Marmalade is growing marigolds, and Cloudy… well, no one’s quite sure what Cloudy’s growing, but it’s got glitter glued to the plant markers.

Their friendship is the kind that fills the air with laughter and imagination. Whether they’re arguing over the best stick to use as a wand or racing leaves down the storm drain, Marmalade and Cloudy are a reminder of the small, magical moments in every child’s life.

Thank you to @quillinkie for sharing these joyful characters with us. Here’s to more weekend whimsy and after-school adventures from the sweetest duo in the Bluey OC universe!
