Nothing To Wine About - A Sherlock Penelope File

Spy mission log:
So Tailmon, Agumon and I were at a wild party at Club Rainbow, and we were so partied out we might've had the time to take a little break. However, we noticed Chippy leaving with Cherry and followed her to see what was going on - and to our shock, we found a drowned tramp!

The next morning, I told my mummy, Sherlock Penelope, everything, and she went to the hospital to find out why the tramp had drowned in the river. I was disturbed by the sight of bloody bandages all over the victim's faces, but still, it wasn't something to worry about, not even the massive hooks holding meat.

While on our way to the harbour we met a homeless girl named Judo, who had an actual baby puppy in her pram alongside a bottle of stale wine. She said she used the stale wine to get wasted even though she was only six years old. Then we met local fisherman Maynard, who lived with his wife and his baby son. I had a good time helping them sort out the fish and cook them for their tea, but Penelope was wondering if Maynard was taking spy agents in for slavery.

Later, we reported all this to S.P.Y 'Quarters, and were assigned to search an abandoned pharmacist for clues since the tramp worked at the pharmacist years before he drowned. It was old, dusty and whitewashed from ceiling to floor, but then Lady Penelope had to grab me and drag me out of here since a huge rain of asbestos fell from the ceiling. Once we reported what we found back to Jeff Tracy, head of S.P.Y 'Quarters, we went home since the working day was over.

After a long, warm bath and a nourishing dinner, we went to sleep in our soft, cosy bed...however, Sherlock Penelope was having a hallucogenic dream about stale wine and the hallucinations it can give you. And they were pretty terrifying indeed! Sherlock Penelope woke up screaming and sick, and had to vomit for almost 2 hours before Parker could call an ambulance and take her to hospital. It was up to me to solve the case alone.

First I went to meet Mrs Tibble and the Tibble Twins, who were constantly fighting over which toy was theirs', or, who got to pet the baby budgies first. While they went to the old vehicle museum, Mrs Tibble explained to me that things haven't been the same since CBBC got Americanised by the government, who wanted programmes which aren't of the relaxing British source people wanted. This is also the result of too much airtime of Malory Towers on there, and CBBC turned it into a loud American sitcom, which took up too much airtime on the channel, like the cartoons on there, the same way Teen Titans Go took up all the schedule time on Cartoon Network every, single, day. And let me tell you the bad news: CBBC is slowly becoming a Boomerang/Pop ripoff, and they might even get the voiceover from Boomerang and Pop to do continuity announcements - in an American accent! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! I was so shocked that I ran out of the house crying.

I then went to the locomotive museum and saw all of Gerry Anderson's hand made vehicles on display - the Thunderbirds, Stingray, Fireball XL5, Gabriel...everything. Then I met Agent G.B. (or Ginger, from Chicken Run), who explained to me that Americanisation of British kids' TV wasn't my fault. We had a long talk about how the kids' TV industry was slowly turning to the American side thanks to too many budget cuts, and how PBS Kids will be shutting down soon. Upset by this news, I hugged Agent G.B. out of dispair.

American kids need less brainrot more than ever, and it was a generation that was trusted by parents and beloved by children in America for years and years and years. It has been around ever since I was born. And CBBC hasn't progressed well too. When CITV vanished in 2023, the trouble started. Don't you prefer the days when there were good shows instead of bad, cheap American cartoons?

Ditch the Americanisation.
Go British.

30 (Late) Years Of Fanderson

In 2011, Fanderson hosted a 30th birthday party - complete with a cake! Where's the cake? Unfortunately, some Anderson characters attended too. Let's take a closer look, Bluey's The Sign-style.

I was there when everyone came and attended the party. The group photos were taken first, first of everyone, then of each group of characters, show by show. Then we went to the tent to enjoy some food and drink. Let's just say Yung-Star got drunk on too much of Marina's 'Seaweed Wine'. Lady Penelope was there too, and so was everyone I knew - Parker, Brains, Alan, Tin Tin, Jeff Tracy, Marina, Oink, Titan, Captain Scarlet, plus everyone I knew was there.

Of course, we had to have the cake without ceremony, and everyone had a piece - even Zoonie, who dug into a hunk of the cake! That cake tasted of vanilla and buttercream - yummy! Then all night long we played party games and danced to loud, upbeat music until the next morning, when we were too pooped out to even dance a lot more, and we were all asleep. And Commander Shore? Let's just say that throughout the party he acted as drunk as Uncle Stripe was.

Also on this day, Torchy became best friends with Harold Hare after agreeing to appear in his 'Own Paper'. The Liverpool Echo reported on the forthcoming Terrahawks series, and Fanderson hosted a one day celebration of its own creation...

...THREE YEARS AGO?! Oh god, I - hang on, hang on....sssssshhhhh, I must be very quiet. I mustn't wake everyone up now.

Sea Of Serenity

Marina and Oink love to bond together as a mother and adopted son. Marina is so fair, kind and gentle, that you can easily compare her to Lady Penelope - or so she thinks. Tonight on MeTV Toons, there's going to be more Supercar, Fireball XL5 and Stingray, which means there's a serene side to Marina's undersea excursions without the assistance of the Stingray crew.

She and Oink love to sneak out at night and dive into the ocean water, swimming deep under the sea and discovering new aquatic life and happiness which are hidden in the depths. All the while, Marina would try very hard not to get that 'Aqua Marina' song stuck in her head, because if she hears that god-awful song again, she'd probably find herself physically assaulting Troy and Phones whenever she feels up for it.

Anyway, Marina loves to swim with seahorses and look for buried treasure in sunken ships. It's Marina's duty to collect whatever's buried in the sea and bring it back up to Marineville to place them on the shelves in her room. Commander Shore would often ask, "What is this junk?" to which Atlanta would explain that she's 'unleashing her inner Ariel', as Marina watches The Little Mermaid quite a lot.

Anyway, when Marina and Oink emerge from the depths, they like to splash each other in the darkness of the sea to their hearts' content. Marina is too silent to laugh, but Oink grunts with laughter as Marina splashes him senseless. Marina feels free in the water, away from the clutches of Titan (if he feels up to capturing her) and happily finding treasures wherever she goes.

However, it's no surprise to learn that if you go onto the beach the next morning, you'd be shocked to see what looks like a dead mermaid with a sleepy baby seal by her side! But no need to worry, it's only Marina fast asleep on the soft sand with Oink by her side.

Oh, what would Troy Tempest think?

I Love Tin Tin

It was during one of my sleepovers on Tracy Island that Tin Tin and I spent time together in the lounge, bonding and showing our sisterly love for one another. Noticing the book 'Guess How Much I Love You' on the shelf, I decided to ask Tin Tin: "Guess how much I love you?"

The love measuring wasn't at all a math lesson, but a lesson in comfort and caring. What first started as measuring how big our love is turned into a walk out onto the beach at night, with Tin Tin and me saying things like "I love you from your head to your toes" or "I love you the same height as a palm tree". Sometimes, we would tickle each other and play together with each saying that we love each other.

And then, when it approached midnight, I was getting a bit tired, so I whispered to Tin Tin as she held me in her arms, "I love you all the way up to the moon." Tin Tin lay down and relaxed on her deckchair and kissed me on the forehead. She said the same words Big Nutbrown Hare said at the end of the book:

"I love you all the way to the moon - and back."

Let's hope Alan hears this. He loves me too.

Brains' Cold

One time, Alan, Tin Tin and I were looking forward to playing a new board game Alan got with all the money from his piggy bank, when Brains came in sniffling and sneezing. He was down with a nasty cold, so I decided to pretend to be a nurse. With the help of the other, kinder residents, I nourished Brains with food, medicine and water, and even gave him his favourite wolf teddy, Grey Brother, to go to sleep with - because as we all know, Brains can't get to sleep without Grey Brother.

For the rest of the day until Lady Penelope came to take me home, Alan, Tin Tin and I were sitting quietly, listening to soft, gentle music and relaxing.

Together We'll Lower The Ratings!

It's gone.

It's really gone.

Thunderbirds are gone! *howls in despair*

You see, I wanted to see if there are any Thunderbirds episodes on Talking Pictures TV the weekend after the weekend it airs, and I got a nasty shock. No, Brains hasn't messed up my essay about why Talking Pictures TV is the best, oh no. It's that Thunderbirds, has been replaced, by a STUPID CHILDREN'S FILM! I don't know what those maniacs at Talking Pictures TV were thinking, but somehow Sarah got hit in the head by a coconut and didn't want Thunderbirds on the schedule because it was too gritty for children watching this strand.

So, Talking Pictures TV, if you're reading this, please know that I am sick and tired of watching you, especially on Saturday mornings now. You treat Thunderbirds as if it were an uneaten box of chocolates, not touched for a million years - perhaps 60, if you count the years Thunderbirds had aired on our screens. Eurgh, I hate to imagine how a 60 year old box of chocolates would taste like. From now on, I'm watching Disney+ and Rewind TV.

I was really looking forward to watching Thunderbirds as part of Saturday Morning Pictures, but when you announced yet another stinky film from that lousy Children's Film Foundation, I am utterly disappointed and shocked. Why would you do this, Talking Pictures TV? I HATE YOU!

You hear me?!

I HATE YOU! I HATE YOUR FILMS AS WELL! SO DO BRAINS, ALAN, TIN TIN, LADY PENELOPE, JEFF TRACY AND PARKER! It was supposed to be Thunderbirds' 60th anniversary this year, and because you replaced it with a lousy and boring Children's Film Foundation picture, all you will be hearing from the children watching is booing and hissing.

I expected better from you, and YOU, HAVE, FAILED ME!!!!!

THIS IS YOUR FAULT!

GOODBYE FOREVER!
Hate,
Sybil

Postman Pat, Captain Scarlet & Gordon The Gopher

Captain Scarlet, Postman Pat and Gordon the Gopher are the best of friends. Captain Scarlet could obviously do with Pat's accompaniment, because of all the trauma he experienced when indestructible, and Gordon has problems too - he misses his friend Mr Phillip Schofield so much.
