Silly Story Chains
Age Group: 6 and up
Players: 2 or more
Materials Needed:
Paper and pencils (optional)
Objective:
To create a funny and silly story together, just like the characters did with the joke book, while practising taking turns and being creative.
How to Play:
Sit in a Circle or Across from Each Other: Everyone sits in a circle or across from each other so they can see and hear each other easily.
Start the Story: One player starts by saying a silly sentence to begin the story. For example, "Once upon a time, a talking fish told a joke about the weather!"
Take Turns Adding to the Story: The next player adds another silly sentence to the story. They should try to make it as funny or absurd as they can. For example, "The fish loved to wear rain boots whenever it rained underwater!"
Keep the Story Going: Each player takes turns adding to the story until everyone has had a few turns. You can decide beforehand how long the story should be or keep going until everyone feels the story is complete.
End the Story: The last player wraps up the story with a funny or surprising ending. For example, "And that’s how the fish became the mayor of Underwater Town, where it rained jokes every day!"
Optional: Draw Your Story! If you want, after finishing the story, you can all draw pictures of your favorite part of the story.
Game Tips:
Encourage Creativity: Remind the players that there are no wrong ideas, and it’s okay to be as silly as they want.
Be Patient: If a player is unsure of what to say, give them some time, or let them ask for help.
Have Fun: The goal is to laugh and have a good time together, just like in the story with Coco and Dick & Dom.

The Close Pen Pal Club
Lady Penelope and Parker got out the dog shampoo, a dog-shaped bar of soap, a blue brush and a green towel, and filled a small tub with water. They were giving Taromaru a bath. While the Close Pen Pal club was filled with so many objects, as an adult I was allowed to let my room get as messy as I wanted, because this club was...well...fun! Simba was being chased by Cheer Bear, because it was his bath next. I helped chase Simba across the room, while in the corner, Timon and Pumbaa told each other stories about their days looking after Simba from the moment he arrived into their lives.
However, Simba slipped on a banana peel Zazu had thrown onto the floor, and landed SMACK! Right into Taromaru's bath. Lady Penelope and Parker got a good soaking indeed! Everyone began to laugh. Taromaru was soaked as well as Simba, Penelope and Parker. Despite that, I helped Penelope dry Taromaru. What resulted was a very fluffy dog, which made us both laugh. When we used the hairdryer on him and brushed his fur, he felt more relaxed than ever. After we've cleaned up, we had pizza together by the light of the candle, while the sunset shone through the window outside. I shared my slices with Simba and Taromaru, because they were the mischievous ones. Parker got drunk off sherry and danced with Captain Scarlet around the room. So, after dinner, we unleashed dance mode and began foxtrotting around the room, laughing and shouting. My, the Close Pen Pal Club was the best! Isn't it?
Diddy Fish
"Hey Coco!" I called, gesturing my friend Coco over to where I was reading my Dick & Dom Joke Book. "It says here that Michael Fish is one of the many things relating to fish." Coco tried to stop a giggle escaping from her lips as she spluttered, "Why would Dick and Dom choose to do that?" "Because they're idiots," I replied. "They always know how to make fun of British celebrities and go all potty over them - and I don't mean dump a potty full of toddler wee all over them!" "Eurgh," said Coco, "That's disgusting! You don't think that surely Dick and Dom are behind the most annoying show on TV?" "Yep - Diddy TV. The most annoying show on TV besides Just Kidding. It just has no teaching value whatsoever. Whatever they did to put this show on the air, I'm glad they took it off, because-" "CBBC has gone woke, I know," said Coco. "But hey, I think it was great they took that sickening show off the air, don't you think?" "Mmmmm, yeah," I said. "Dick and Dom are stupid when it comes to being diddy." "Being diddy is awful, I agree," said Coco, "There are no life skills to learn whatsoever from those two, just how to be stupid and dumb and annoy your parents." "But hey, at least they got a bit in the book where they proposed a version of Coronation Street where all the residents are chickens!" I stifled a laugh, but then I saw Coco sighing. Eventually, my mood changed. "Coco, what's wrong?" "Things just aren't the same since Alma and Stan left the street. Lest we remember them forever." And now, here we are, standing at their graves with bouquets of flowers, placing them by their tombstones in the rain. They will be sorrowfully missed.

Tenderheart, Cheer & Funshine's Letter - Lovable Bears

Thank you so much for your heartwarming letter! We’re all gathered here in Care-A-Lot, and your words filled our hearts with joy and a few extra giggles too. It’s wonderful to know how much you appreciate the care and love we share with the world. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of knowing our caring shines bright, especially in the hearts of friends like you.
Tenderheart here! I think joining your Close Pen Pals Club sounds absolutely wonderful. There’s nothing more important than spreading care and kindness, and I can tell from your letter that you have so much love to give. We’d be honored to join you, sharing stories, playing games, and having fun together. It’s just like when we care for all the little children down on Earth, only this time, we’ll be caring and sharing with you!
Hi Sybil, it’s Cheer Bear! Wow, I remember those Lovable Bears keychain toys! They were so soft and sweet-smelling, and feeding them their bottles was such a fun way to show how much we care. It’s like giving someone a little piece of Care-A-Lot to carry with them wherever they go. I’d love to join your Pen Pals Club and spread some cheer! We can have the best time, just like in Joke-A-Lot, where every moment was filled with laughter and surprises. I can’t wait to start our adventure together!

That’s my kind of place! I’m so glad you enjoyed our Big Wish Movie—CGI can be really fun, just like in Make Way for Noddy. And how exciting that Thunderbirds is coming back to Talking Pictures TV! Letter To The Care Bears
Dear Tenderheart, Funshine & Cheer,
I do love the way your care in people’s hearts as well as your own - because there’s nothing in this world you like better than a spot of caring for all the little children down on earth. And you should see Truffle Shuffle’s post about those Lovable Bears keychain toys from the ‘90s - they were soft and scented at the same time. They had light up heart shaped noses and you fed them from their bottle.
How would you guys like to join my Close Pen Pals Club? We could play some wonderful games and have a lot of fun there, just like when Funshine went to Joke-A-Lot and had this marvellous tour of the whole kingdom - Egyptian dancing, eating a banana and then slipping on the skin and a whole bunch of desserts which you can eat at a cafe with penguin waiters! Heaven. A few nights ago I watched your Big Wish Movie on DVD, and I must admit, the CG animation is quite similar to Make Way For Noddy, a CGI adaptation of the Noddy books by Enid Blyton. Then there’s School Live, a wonderfully-written anime that features a young pink haired girl called Yuki who dreams of a regular school life with her friends and their teacher Megu-Nee. My favourite character is Taromaru, because of how cute and cuddly he is. Oh, and did you guys know that Thunderbirds is returning to Talking Pictures TV in three days? Wow, yay! I hope you guys would be able to get a good view from Care-A-Lot!

Lady Penelope & Parker - She's A Bit Angry, Milady
Dear Sybil,
Lady Penelope:
My dearest Sybil, I’m deeply sorry to hear about the troubling experience you’ve had. It pains me to think that you feel so misunderstood and hurt, especially by someone as dear as your mother. But, my darling, rest assured that feeling angry at times is quite normal—even someone as refined as myself isn’t immune to the odd tantrum! Indeed, you’ve remembered quite accurately an incident where I wasn’t exactly at my best—slipping into muddy water and having my pistol clogged with the muck was rather vexing! However, what I’ve learned from moments like that is how important it is to regain one’s composure and turn frustration into something productive.
If I were in your shoes, I’d suggest finding a quiet space and allowing yourself to take a deep breath. Perhaps spend some time writing in your journal or drawing—whatever helps you express those feelings without damaging the lovely environment around you. Anger can be overwhelming, but channeling it into something creative can be freeing.
As for feeling ungrateful, my dear, I’m sure that’s far from the truth. You’re simply going through a difficult moment, and it’s important to remember that everyone, including your mother, can have hard days too. She may not hate you at all—in fact, she’s likely doing all the hard work out of love, but stress can sometimes make communication difficult. I think she’d love to see you help out in small ways that bring you together rather than apart—perhaps a surprise cup of tea, a little note, or offering to tidy something up. It’s those gestures that show her how much you care.
As for living with us, Sybil, it sounds absolutely delightful! I’d love nothing more than to cuddle up in a soft pink bed and chat late into the night, but always remember, you carry the strength within yourself to make your own life a cozy and peaceful one, even when things feel difficult. You have that power, my dear.
Parker:
Ah, Miss Sybil, it breaks me ‘eart to think you’re feelin’ this way. I know a thing or two about anger, you see. Back in the day, I weren’t always the calm and collected chauffeur you know. I used to have a bit of a temper meself! But what I learned, with Lady Penelope’s fine example, mind you, is that anger don’t help no one. It’s like a tricky car engine—if you rev it too hard, it’ll only break down. What you need is to find a way to release it without causing damage.
If I were you, I’d start with somethin’ simple—maybe a bit of tidying around your room to make it feel more your own, rather than that white trash space you mentioned. Once you’ve got it lookin’ how you like, it might not feel so bad, eh? And a quick walk, just to clear your mind, might do wonders too. I often take a stroll when things get a bit tense at the Manor.
Now, as for what I’d do in a situation like this... well, I’d sit down with your mum, polite-like, and have a chat. Tell her how you’re feelin’, but in a way that shows you care about how she feels too. You might be surprised at how much better things turn out when you talk calmly, like a true lady—or gent, in my case!
You’re not ungrateful, Miss Sybil, you’re just a bit lost at the moment, and that’s understandable. But with a little patience and a soft word or two, things’ll smooth over like the finest of polished cars. Oh, and don’t you worry none—no one who loves you could ever hate you. It’s just a bit of a rough patch, is all.

Lady Penelope & Parker - Close Pen Pal Club (The Reply)
My dearest Sybil,
What a charming and delightful invitation! Parker and I would be absolutely thrilled to join your Close Pen Pal Club. It sounds like a perfectly splendid gathering of friends, full of fun, adventure, and a great deal of companionship. I can already picture the laughter and warmth we’ll share, not to mention the joy of indulging in pizza every night—though I must say, I do prefer a more refined meal from time to time. However, in such wonderful company, who could refuse?
Your club members are a fine selection indeed! Simba, Bluey, Bingo, the Care Bears, Scooby-Doo, Captain Scarlet… and, of course, Oink and Titan from Stingray. It’s like an international assembly of dear friends, all gathered for the sake of shared joy. The idea of a huge bed for us all to sleep in is simply too delightful. I’m sure it will be a restful and fun-filled experience—though I’ll admit, Parker might need an extra pillow or two! And Taromaru is most welcome; we must make him feel at home, especially after all he has been through with Yukii.
Ah, your mention of the ‘Numi Numi’ lullaby brought back such tender memories. Indeed, I do know it well. Parker and I encountered it on one of our missions in Russia, and it has stayed with me ever since. The words, though simple, carry such depth, and their soothing melody has a way of calming the most restless of souls. The lullaby, as you likely recall, speaks of love and protection, of a mother’s devotion to her child. The lyrics, "Numi numi yaldati," mean, "Sleep, sleep, my little girl." It's a sweet reminder of how love transcends borders, even during times of conflict.
I am so touched that you remember the times I sang it to you, my dear Sybil. Holding you close and knowing you felt safe was as much a comfort to me as it was to you. The world may be at war in many ways, but these moments of peace, love, and care are what bring us all together.

As for that ‘Numi Numi’ lullaby, well, Miss Penelope’s the real expert, but I remember it from our days in Russia. Calming, it is—like a soft breeze on a quiet night. Even had a calming effect on some of our missions, believe it or not! Singing’s not my forte, mind you, but I’m always there when needed to help, even if it’s just keeping an eye out for any unexpected trouble.

Dear Lady Penelope & Parker,
Would you two like to join my Close Pen Pal Club? I was inspired by the School Living Club from the anime School Live to make this club since my room now looks like a tip until the decorator arrives. I’ve already invited Simba, Bluey and Bingo to my club, now I’ve got the Care Bears, Scooby Doo and Captain Scarlet to invite. Titan and Oink have already joined my club, and I’ve yet to see Stingray. Just imagine what the club would be like - activities around the house, pizza for dinner every night and a huge bed for us all to sleep in. Oh! And I’ve invited the dog Taromaru to join our club too, since Yukii’s perceptions were too much for him.
I also had a sudden flash of memory: we were watching Baby Einstein: Language Nursery, right, and at one point during one segment featuring a lava lamp, we heard someone singing ‘Numi Numi’. That’s a traditional Russian lullaby, and Simba didn’t know what the words even meant, but that sent Taromaru to sleep. Penelope, you knew the lullaby, because you’ve been to Russia on missions with Parker in Fab-1. I know the whole world’s at war with each other, but can you two please explain the history of ‘Numi Numi’ as a traditional lullaby? I remember when you used to sing the lullaby to me when I got restless, Penelope, and the warmth of your embrace was so soothing and comforting that I instantly fell asleep, secure in your arms. How wonderful….

Letter To Lady Penelope - Baby Days
Dear Lady Penelope,
I have had an extremely rough night last night, so much that I refused to wake up even before 8 O’clock. To soothe me during this difficult time, do you remember when I was a baby and you used to hold me in your arms? It felt very soothing and comforting, and even Parker was there to hug me. You thought I was the most wonderful baby you’ve ever seen, and you agreed then on that you can be my sister. Your hugs towards me feel so gentle and elegant, that I almost felt like I was in Heaven.
Looking on the lighter side, I remember one time it was bathtime (I was a baby at the time) and I was hiding under a soft white towel on your bed. You were cheekily trying to find me, and when you lifted off the towel, there I was, completely naked and giggling. In response, you picked me up and cuddled and tickled me, calling me ‘a little rascal’. And from what I heard outside of my life with you and Parker, I think I seem to remember when Redan’s Fun To Learn Friends magazine had your franchise, Thunderbirds, in it, alongside Arthur and the Mr Men. I can tell it had Thunderbird 3 on the cover, with the logo underneath. As for Redan itself, it made big bucks with their Thunderbirds magazine back in the ‘90s, even you and Parker got some respect. I wish I was around in the ‘90s to see it. My room is currently a tip due to waiting for the decorator, but I wish I lived with you and Parker. You two are the best friends in the Thunderbirds universe!
