A lot of commotion was going around Tracy Island today. It was the sort of day for going on an adventure with one of my best friends, Alan. Alan had everything sorted out for the journey, including food, water and a first aid kit for emergencies. We were going to travel to our destinations in Thunderbird 3, and we couldn’t be more excited.
I ran into the lounge at Tracy Island excited as cake, and Alan was more than delighted to see me. “Hi Alan!” I called, running into his arms for a big hug. “Hi, kid!” smiled Alan. “You ready for an adventure?” “Of course I am! What’s not to love about a great adventure in far off lands, away from Tracy Island and its dangerous emergencies?” “Nothing! Just the open spaces, fresh air and comfortable seating, just where we’ve planned it.”
“Just a minute, Alan, I have to talk with my little girl for a minute.” Lady Penelope had followed behind, hopeful that I would be alright on the journey. As Alan prepared the last of the luggage, Lady Penelope gave me a big hug of her own and said: “I do hope you’ll be alright on the adventure with your friend.” “I will, Mum. Although…” Tears drenched my innocent eyes. “I will miss you.” Lady Penelope gently kissed me on the forehead. “I will write postcards to you, darling, and make sure you’re alright with Alan by your side. Now take care of yourself, darling, and be a good little girl for me.”
Then I heard Alan calling. “What are you waiting for, kid? Come on, let’s go!”
