Lady Penelope had just come back from the shops with a Chinese takeaway dinner just for us. Since she couldn’t stand spicy food, Lady Penelope opted for rice, because it was much calmer and softer than loud, hot, spicy foods, and I had spring rolls because they were so tasty they mixed meat with vegetables any time, anywhere. The sound of birdsong was the only music we heard outside as we shared our takeaway meal together. The sun was beginning to set outside, and I couldn’t be more thankful to have a mother who is always kind to me.
