It was after Joe's battle with Coletti, and Joe was lying wearily in the hospital. His father, Professor McClaine, sat beside him, his glasses misty with his tears. "Oh Joe, please wake up. I promise to never be afraid of you anymore. You don't have to go to school due to your agent skills...right?"
Joe slowly opened his eyes, then his mouth. "Dad....I've no need to go there. The other kids bully me for my super intelligence as it is. But you? You look out for me whenever I feel dry and empty inside. You always feed me and quench me when I need nourishment, and every child can't live without food or water, not even me. These bandages cannot hold me back." He pointed to his bandaged up leg. "Whatever happens, I will show those bad guys what it means to be a part of Bigrat, or else they will feel the wrath of everything I've ever dreamed of since I was born."
Professor McClaine was stunned. Never in his life had he heard Joe utter such dramatic words. He hid his face in his hands and began to cry. Even Joe had tears in his eyes, yet he was told by the playground children that big boys don't cry. "Dad...what's wrong?" asked Joe. "Nothing," said Professor McClaine, "It's just that I will continue to love you, Joe, no matter what happens. You will always be my son, and I will love you the same way all parents do. You are my angel's light....Joe 90."
