Deep in the forest all quiet and serene
Lady Penelope wandered, kind and keen
In the place where she's going I sat there alone
Staring at the water, nothing but skin and bone
When Penelope saw me, I instantly smiled
It's a long time since I saw her in a while
In fact, it must've been all day
She knew I was hungry and needed to play
She fed me a scrap, a piece of raw meat
And while she was grooming me, I tickled her feet
She laughed and I got my strength back laughing too,
Lady Penelope said, "It's just me and you."
And into the water the two of us went
The water was cool, not hot and hellbent
We hugged each other deep and strong
Knowing we were there all along
