Into my arm the needle goes
And at once I didn't go 'EEE!" and "OH!"
The nurse gave me some special stickers
A cake and dinosaur while the candle flickers
Suky and I left for an ice cream
She had a Flake and I had chocolate, I seem
Chocolate ice cream is my favourite treat
With lots of sausage rolls to eat
I was worried about a second try
But back home to my town we'd fly
I told Mum all about my day
And she said we'd forget about it, hooray!
So now I have time to relax
And forget all my worries for now
As for Mylo, my dog,
He'd rather snack on dog chow!
NOTE: This poem goes to show that a blood test is not a negative experience. It's something that everyone can test their bravery with, no matter what, any time, anywhere. And your reward? A nice, relaxing many days, or a sticker, or some chocolate. Because nothing's better than a numb arm which doesn't hurt.
