How They Celebrate Christmas On Glowbone Island, In Unicornia & Near Pug's Friendship Tree

In these meditation retreat places, how they celebrate Christmas seems very peaceful, and yet truly magical...

On Glowbone Island, they decorate the trees with sparkling, colorful baubles and tinsel and place dog biscuits on their glowing green Christmas tree. The highlight of Christmas celebrations on Glowbone Island is the 'Time Capsule Treasure' - anything the native dogs on the island don't want or have used up through the year, they place in a bone-shaped time capsule and bury in the sand, transporting it to charity shops in the real world to give to people who need them most.

In Unicornia, the unicorns here celebrate the 'Festival Of Lights'. They deck every tree and bush with beautiful pink and yellow fairy lights, including their Light Tree. The star on the top glows a bright silver, shining in the moonlight. The Milk Light, which emerges from the pond every night before Christmas Day, arrives each year to give each unicorn a new power in their horn as a reward for being good and keeping Unicornia safe from hunters and humans who want to throw their rubbish in its beauty. They also polish rainbows to make them sparkle for next year, and they shine white, green and pink.

Near Pug's Friendship Tree, it's Winter. Children gather to sing carols and play in the snow, sledging down hills and building snowmen. Pug used to come here and build a Snowdog for the tree to be friends with, and it always stays with the tree for three weeks leading up to Christmas. It's now a tradition for other puppies to build their Snowdogs near the tree so that it won't feel lonely.

  1. I think I like Glowbone Island is best although Unicornia sounds great, too.
