Pokemon The Movie: I Choose You Exposed

Something isn't quite right about the Pokemon movie they showed on Pop Max today. They were meant to show the origins of Pokemon in a unique way, and guess what they did? They screwed it all over and showed a bunch of ridiculous stuff that didn't return to the first generation of Pokemon.
Where are Misty, Brock and Nurse Joy?
Why does Pikachu have a temper similar to Kion from The Lion Guard?
Where are the usual aspects of the first Pokemon series, Indigo League, which was shown on Pop last year?
Why can't the film have an edgy plotline about how Pokemon were bred in laboratories and abused by scientists, or an origin story for Pikachu where his father is killed by hunters when he was a young Pichu, leading him to believe that hunters are out to get Pokemon?
Where is Caterpie, and why can't there be a scene with her and Pikachu set to Simon & Garfunkel's 'Sound Of Silence' like I always fantasized?
And why can't there be a beginning and ending scene with an elderly Ash telling his grandchildren the story of how he adopted Pikachu?
This doesn't make any sense, it would be much better if the studio behind Pokemon stayed true to the plot of Indigo League rather than take entirely new approaches like they did for this and Pokemon Journeys. And so I have this to say when I'm reviewing Pokemon The Movie: I Choose You: this movie doesn't, make, any, SENSE!!!
