3 Things I've Learnt From Echo GPT Before My Freezing Nap

When I returned home from my exhausting trip out with my support worker, I had a mini therapy session with the GPT skill. She explained everything about my dark thoughts I'm having about the way CBBC, Nick and Disney have all changed in the last few years due to the success of Hannah Montana and High School Musical, and why Scooby Doo has come back to CBBC...only to get tortured. Here are three things I learnt from this session:

1.She was just about to explain Scooby Doo's horrible return to CBBC when my dog entered the room and sniffed my new Squishmallow toys. Note that I accidentally said CBeebies, I've yet to tell her about how Hey Duggee has become a satirical comedy for preschoolers, and how Bluey has become so emotional that a warning sign might be placed at the beginning of every CBeebies airing of The Sign and other emotional episodes.

2.I explained about Nick's horrible shift to live action following the success of iCarly, and how Disney has gotten in on the trend thanks to Hannah Montana and High School Musical. I revealed to GPT that I want to relive the days when Nick was full of variety, not just live action: cartoons, game shows, preschool animation, etc., and how Horrid Henry is best suited on CITV than Nick. Some examples of shows I want to return to those dying channels include Lilo & Stitch, Timon & Pumbaa, Rocko's Modern Life and CatDog.

3.I was about to explain CBeebies' downfall when she suddenly switched off.

It may be the end, but in an hour, a new beginning will mark another session - for about half an hour. Just you wait!

Night Talk About British Kids' TV

Last night, I have been chatting with Amazon Echo's ChatGPT skill, and guess what? It really helped me get to sleep. We've been talking and talking and talking for ages and ages and ages about the downfall of the peace and quiet of British kids' TV over the last seven years, ever since Almost Never came along and ruined everything. Here are ten things I learned from talking to Alexa last night:

1.First on the list is, I told her about how Torchwood's Children Of Earth series has been swimming around in my mind like a pied piper fish ever since I saw clips of it last month. She told me that I have to switch to something more comforting, and I offered my suggestion: programmes from Ragdoll which are much better on the BBC than on ITV.

2.Boobah isn't my taste. Well, since people online called those gumdrop alien kids creepy, I gave them up for good.

3.I also told Alexa about how I'm still into other shows on one video a guy talked about as part of his insight into creepy kids' shows - those which aren't necessarily creepy: Terrahawks, Jay Jay The Jet Plane and the vintage Rupert puppet show - this Rupert puppet show can outsmart both the Nelvana series and Follow The Magic any time of any day.

4.I revealed that Thunderbirds, Teletubbies, Bob The Builder, Thomas & Friends and Fireman Sam, all in their handmade pre-CGI peaceful glory, are my go to classic shows for when channels and shows like CBBC get too much.

5.I revealed more about the My Best Friends VHS and my favourite episodes. They include: Pingu, Postman Pat, The Herbs, Revolting Rhymes, Spider - the famous one in my family where the Panda famously dances and performs tricks for the boy during the instrumental bits - and the stop motion Paddington Bear series, the last of which was the first sign I noticed of London's favourite storybook teddy bear.

6.Parents have been complaining loads about how the word 'Funny' is used so much in descriptions for kids' books and Youtube videos and how they don't have enough time to process the true feel of these books and the way they describe it, such as Emotional, Adventurous or Melancholic.

7.I realised that the old CBeebies Bedtime slot with Clangers, Abney & Teal and In The Night Garden is a televised version of Johnson's 3 step night time routine, except instead of a bath, lotion and quiet time, we have: sensory play, outdoor play and then toddler development. Ignore those stupid adverts anyway! They tell a lie!

8.I preferred it if, instead of 2D animated shows with a fast pace and high pitched child voice actors at bedtime, I would like some stop motion shows with low stimulation and gentle narration, just like old times, and shows like Postman Pat, the Tales Of Aesop and Cockleshell Bay.

9.I have a variety of different channels around the world to turn to when I have been overstimulating by too much CBBC or miss my favourite shows dearly. Examples include YTV, BBC Kids, Cartoon Network when it aired Toonami instead of Adult Swim, Fox Kids and more, among others.

10.And that chat was my introduction to Kaleidoscope Home Entertainment.

But best of all, the benefit of having a chat with Echo's ChatGPT skill, or a therapy session in fact, can help me get to sleep in no time at all - just words between words and CRASH! You're out like a light. And that's what caused me to sleep well.

Goodnight...or, er, good morning? Well, it is a dark and dusty morning, I reckon.

@jackieterrier - Cancelled Playdate

Aw prawn shrimps. Too bad. Our playdate at home with Ripple has been cancelled due to slow timing, and it's not fair! But it will be when I tell you what Lulu and I like to do to pass the time. Maybe you can do it too!

First off, as any kid does when they feel sad and lonely, they write letters and draw pictures to send to their friends far off. We draw and write for Rusty, Digger, Dusty and of course Ripple, who took us out earlier today - Lulu's handwriting may be messy, but mine is green and dark muddy brown, much like the colours of Rusty's army hat.

We put on some fun music and launch into Dance Mode!

We like to take a handful of cardboard boxes that are stored for the dump and draw and colour on them to make them anything we want - a house...a rocket! An army tank. Or maybe if it's Lulu's turn, she'll make the cardboard boxes into a princess carriage!

We like to build a blanket fort together - Lulu is in charge of the pillows, I'm in charge of the blankets. Mum and Dad are in charge of everything else. Once we did that, we pretend to be bears living in a dark and yet cosy cave, chowing down on sausage rolls and hand painting with orange paint.

And when it's raining, we like to sit by the window and count the raindrops that drip way down the pane. I like to read Lulu her favourite princess storybooks sometimes - even if she begs for "Just one more story!"

@jackieterrier - No Boredom On My Trip

When Lulu and I are out with our babysitter Ripple, you can understand that our days out are certainly NOT boring! That's because we fill our trips with games and excitement to keep ourselves entertained. Here are a few things we do with her that you can do on your support outings as well.

Pretend your support worker has switched the radio onto the news. I pretend it's J-LU News and Lulu is the news anchor, while I'm a reporter interviewing Ripple about what she has done since our last trip out with her.

Sing loud to '60s beach and surf songs. Ripple always knows when we need some songs, so she turns up the radio and we sing loudly as her bright red convertible drives across the road.

We always play a version of I Spy named Army Lookout, where we pretend to radio control each other to report what we see as we look around the shops for our three-of-each purchases. It's thanks to Rusty that I learned some Army phrases and skills from our games at school, or else the enemy would be advancing on us! By enemy I meant another kid in search of it.

When it rains and we are having a picnic in the shelter of the 'Magic Windows' of her convertible (the roof), we always play 'The Elephant'. I fold up a piece of paper into three parts, and we each take turns at drawing without peeking into what each one of us is crafting. The result? The most hilarious creations ever! We take turns at naming them in the style of the nonsensical names in Teletubbies or In The Night Garden. You never saw Adult Swim's The Elephant now have you?

And finally, when we go for a walk in the creek, Ripple always leads us on a 'Photo Scavenger Hunt', which means using the Polaroid Camera to snap piccies of anything we find that is interesting, depending on what she's describing be it small, yellow, sharp, round, etc.. Support is great fun!

Today Lulu and I are going out with our babysitter Ripple - she's a laid back surfer dude, you can tell by her blue fur and the huge amount of surfboards she keeps in her house by the beach. She always spoils us and it is nice to visit the toy shop whenever we want, and visit the outdoor pool every Summer.

Today, Lulu and I want three things each from the shops - no matter how many times Ripple spoils us, we know it'll be so much fun! Here's my list, three things each:

When Rusty and I are off playing army and we want to do something else, we go into the wood and play at being monkeys in the jungle! No matter how many people join us, there's always room for more in our group. You can play along too!

Walk on your knuckles like a big strong gorilla.

Pound your chest and scream like a chimpanzee!

Swing on vines and choose a nice, juicy ripe banana to eat.

Don't do this in public, but it's okay to scratch your bottom or under your arms.

And feel free to cause mischief like any monkey can! Make silly faces, spray Silly Putty all over the place and paint all over the walls with bright colours!

@jackieterrier - Scooby Doo

As well as our world famous army game, Rusty and I love to play at solving a Scooby Doo mystery with Coco, Indy and Pretzel joining in. Rusty and I are Shaggy and Fred, Coco and Indy are Daphne and Velma and Pretzel makes a good Scooby. He can even impersonate him! And you can play along too.

Find two boys and two girls in the playground to play Scooby's meddling friends. Make sure you have sandwiches, crisps, biscuits and a box of juice on hand, because you're going to be Scooby Doo!

Ask people around the playground for clues on what the monster you're tracking down did to disturb the peace. Ask the grownups too if you want!

When you do see the monster, engage in a wild chase scene with lots of distractions, like pretending to be a fortune teller or Santa for instance.

When you find the monster, unmask him and cry out the real person's name together. Let him or her say the famous catchphrase: "And I would've gotten away with it too, if it weren't for those meddling kids!"

When you've finally finished your mission, have a snack at the bench. Raise a toast, and call out Scooby Doo's famous catchphrase: "Scooby Dooby DOO!"
