Text Me A Story, Libby

This morning, instead of shouting a story and because Libby isn't taking me out, I texted her a story I made up, named 'I.B.F.Fs: The Call Of Atlantis'. In this story, Luke, Resus, Cleo, Dig, Lulu and I hear a voice telling us that Atlantis needs us, and this leads us on a voyage of discovery which urges us to follow our instincts. It's now my traditions to tell made-up stories to my support workers and write about them in my living room imagination journal, and then copy that into my Dumbo one. One of my stories is one I'll tell to Sally, and it is one about her son Reece and his favourite Paw Patrol character Chase going camping together. By the way, does my story remind you of anything...?

Bedtime Just Got More Hallucogenic

Watch out, CBeebies viewers, you won't believe the shocking news I'm going to tell you...in place of Charlie & Lola, CBeebies' trippy show Colours will air! Not only does the show not make any sense, but it also features hallucinogenic live-action footage that no one would want to see, not even Tee screaming his lungs out or a rainbow with a pompous voice talking to a little girl and her duck companion who live in a fever dream. It would be much better if Colours contained breathing exercises to join in with at home, but since this show is narrated by a black person, it's nice of them to let people of other races star in or narrate children's shows.

You can make a change. Pledge to not watch CBeebies Bedtime every weekend, and instead, if you have Disney+, watch the calming original series Zenimation and Star Wars Galaxy Of Sounds. It has everything: teddy bears, mermaids, princesses, lions, space battles, people choking to death, robots hitting each other...all set to soothing ambient sounds. Your kids will love it! And if you don't have Disney+, watch CBeebies Daydreams on iPlayer instead. It's a soothing stand-in for Colours, as both shows are remarkably similar. Happy changing!

In my Scream Street Joke Book, there's a joke about ghosts with colds, as part of a section about monsters with ailments. The real question is: how do Luke, Resus and Cleo spend a sick day off school? I have spent many sick days off school before, and now I get to share in this peaceful, restful kind of day with my siblings. We take our sick days quite easily around here, with tissues, strawberry-flavoured medicine and ice cream!

My Trip Out With Charlotte According To Coco

Hi! Coco here! Today I'm going to talk about how a day out with Charlotte went tragically downhill for my good friend Sybil.

As far as I'm concerned, I play a role in one of Sybil's upcoming I.B.F.Fs Music Bits, named 'It Is Usual'. There is a bit in her Scream Street Joke Book which lists down some spoof zombie horror songs by spoofs of famous people in the music industry such as Rhianna and The Weeknd, and Sybil's planning to turn them into original songs. In the song 'It Is Usual', its story spoofs the Horrid Henry episode 'Horrid Henry's Happy Family' as I enter my family into a competition to find the Happiest Family Ever. Bluey enters with her dad, mum, sister, uncle, aunt and cousins, and Sybil enters with her older siblings, their parents, her mum, her aunt and her big cousin.

Anyway, Sybil had her breakfast at Charlotte's as usual - bacon rolls, orange juice, hot chocolate and some chocolate biscuits and Jaffa cakes. She wanted to show her pictures of her Christmas presents, but unfortunately, she didn't have time. My mum won't let me watch Horrid Henry, as it encourages bad behaviour - she even won't let me have chocolate biscuits until after tea, because of current circumstances.

Later, they went out to the forest to leave a present out for Silba, a character from Sybil's original story The Legend Of Old Grandpa - two chocolates. It all went well at first, walking about in the fresh, frosty air, until Sybil started bawling over her booster, which she's going to have tomorrow. She was screaming and shouting about it so much that she even started shouting rude words which I'm not going to talk about because my mum says I'm too young to understand them. Lee-Anne came with them too, I'm not joking. She talked with her mum in the car about her intense panic, because, you know, autistic children get a little jittery when it comes to injections, so Charlotte had a long talk on the phone with her mum. Sybil was puffing and panting and her heart was beating fast. Fortunately, Sybil's mum said she can have her injection in the car. All you have to do is sit still and focus on holding her mum's hand. Autistic people are helpless, I know.

At home, she got mega-worried, but it was her mum who reassured her. As for me, I found Bluey crying in the park today. She told me that Sybil will feel pain if she has it done, and terrible thoughts will enter her head, like adverts and loud noises and dreadful stuff like that. She's going to watch that Bing episode to reassure her tomorrow, and earlier she found some fun videos that help calm her down, themed to mindfulness, piano music and pies. Here's some we found earlier, themed to Barbie, Wallace & Gromit and Sybil's favourite Disney film The Lion King.

I must be going because mum's on at me to brush my teeth and get ready for bed. Bye!

I.B.F.Fs: Quiet Time - Mini Activity

We're spending a moment of quiet today, as today's short story is a mega-short scripted Bonus Bit about Cleo comforting me during bedtime. First, I searched for some quiet time activities, and I came across this cupcake play dough kit - using balls of clay and various bits and pieces to make cupcakes is the best way to keep calm at the end of the day. Speaking of, I also found this list of 15 bedtime books for babies and toddlers - my personal favourites are Llama Llama Nighty Night and Global Baby Bedtime.
