Bluey/The 'Hood #2 [Evening

Bluey Breaks The Rules:

Bluey is addicted to a new game on her tablet and is too busy to join her friends in any real games. By the time the day ends, she realizes what she had done wrong and, with her mum's advice, Bluey tries to remember who she was.

Our Views On Men:

On a hot day at the waterpark, the gang, Muffin, Socks, Chloe, Honey and Mackenzie give their views on the habits of men like their dads, including drinking beer, sports games, stinky feet and, most importantly, one simple yet disgusting question: do men pee in the shower?

Bluey Goes To China:

Whilst having tea with Po and the Furious Five, the gang think about China and its culture. Wanting to bring China to the kids, Po and Master Shifu set up China in their dojo, complete with a walk along the great wall, strange Chinese people and a boat trip along a pretend yellow river.

Next Friday - Skinny Dipping & Other Stories

In 'Skinny Dipping' the gang go naked swimming in the creek. Bluey, Bingo and Templeton refuse, until Bluey remembers the time she went to the creek with Bingo, Dad and Mackenzie. This memory encourages her to join in the fun, while Templeton stays on dry land and watches. Alongside 'The Pool', the Bluey episodes airing next Friday afternoon include:

They're Ba-ack!

We thought they were gone forever...

We thought that, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Scream Street was gone and replaced by a grape-jelly duo and two kids and their charming soft toys which come to life (not!)...

Well (insert bad F word here) that! Starting on the 13th of August, the sexiest, spookiest street in the history of CBBC is back! When lockdown ends, they return. Luke, Resus and Cleo are ready to beat up two of the most awful animated shows on CBBC and take the reigns.

Who's ready? I am! Ha-ha-ha!

Frankencreepy

I just saw how today's Boomerang movie, Scooby-Doo: Frankencreepy, was made, what with girl show-style quick pop up imagery. I'd like to describe this film as a mix of Scooby-Doo, Supernatural (even though it clearly had an animated crossover special named Scoobynatural) and CBBC's interactive show Dixi. I should tell my mum to watch the Scoobynatural thing on Amazon, she loves Supernatural and I hope it contains one of those exciting chase scenes involving the gang running in and out of doors, Scooby and Shaggy dressing up and tricking the monsters and lots of funny gags and escapes, just like Scooby Doo should have.

And to think Song From A Secret Garden was appropriate for seeing Mike, and nearly seeing the Dumping Ground, off...

This year, we've lost many lives because of the pandemic, and now we've lost faces so dear to the CBBC we recognised and loved last decade. Tyler in the Dumping Ground, Hetty Feather, Jamie Johnson and, most importantly, Strange Hill High and Scream Street. Last night, I played Secret Garden's album Songs From A Secret Garden in honor of the dearly beloved, including last night, which saw us saying farewell to Jamie Johnson. Listen, and remember your friends from last decade - they were a part of your family, and mine most importantly.

The 'Hood: Gay Marriage & Dad Of The Jungle

Gay Marriage:

When Izzy sees Ethan and Chris kissing in the playground, she tells Aunt Corey and Uncle Bob. Furious, the two parents ground the boys for a week, and this gets the gang thinking about same-sex marriage and relationships.

Dad Of The Jungle:

The gang, Jeremiah, Trafalgar, Fury, Muffin, Socks and Lucky are playing at being jungle animals and explorers in the creek. Dad, Uncle Stripe, Lucky's dad and Merlin the wizard want to join in on the fun, too, and there's mega-heaps of embarrassment as the dads become monkeys and apes, while Merlin magics himself a hunter's outfit of his very own.

Bluey/The 'Hood #1 [Morning]

Work & Play:

Watching Bluey's friends play in the park, the gang wonder why some adults work when some adults have time to play. They ask all the grown-ups in the neighbourhood, including local businessman Eddie Woo, Buzzbee's dad and even Bluey's own mum and dad for advice. It's not until they attend a barbecue at Bluey's house that they find the answer...

Mindfulness:

After watching Play School: Mindfully Me, the gang set out the find ways to be peaceful and at one with themselves. They blow bubbles with the Play School gang, paint with Indy and do some yoga in the creek.

Survival:

A special. On a camping trip with their families, the gang, Rusty, Little Nutbrown Hare and Little Field Mouse get more than they bargained for when Andy leads them on a quest to find the legendary lost Aborigine treasure. On the way, their survival skills are put to the test as they learn to hunt for food, build a bush fire and try to be nice to some creatures.

Dad is the centre of attention for two episodes about gay marriage and living in the jungle! What's right about being a good parent is letting Supernanny tell us that Bluey is an example of good parenting - I wish she told it to some parents.

Jamie Johnson

2016-2020

CBBC's resident footballer ended his career this evening, as Tyler left the Dumping Ground earlier this year, just when the pandemic reached its peek. Jamie, Boggy and Jack will forever be remembered as the ones that defined a moment in CBBC history and brought Mustangs FC to the channel in 2018 - girls, you might say Mustangs FC is a role reversal version of Jamie Johnson, and boys, you might remember Jamie Johnson as your idol...but hey, we still need the celebrities' names to appear on screen ala a variety programme like Blue Peter whenever they appear on the show, right? Right. Still, we have longtime CBBC golden favourite Arthur on the channel, and tomorrow, Binky is starring in a TV commercial. I like sponsorship myself, and I like to recite them off by heart, but Jamie Johnson will forever be kicking a ball in our minds and in our hearts.

Goodbye and good luck, Jamie. We will never forget you - even CBBC and its stars and characters won't forget you.

A lazy, quiet episode that sees the residents of The 'Hood sleep in on a quiet weekend morning.

A Frog's Journey

The gang are riding their bikes, and stop off at the local creek to rest. There, they find a frog and follow it through the forest back to the pond. As they do, we see the residents of The 'Hood accomplish small tasks that represent perseverance, such as tying shoelaces or learning a new game or skill.

In 'Desire', it's Bingo's birthday and everyone's taking a trip to the restaurant to celebrate...but Bingo's can't keep her eyes off a delicious vanilla cake! Music Of The Vampire

Today's Boomerang movie is Scooby Doo: Music Of The Vampire. At first I thought it was a remake of the Scooby Doo movie, Legend Of The Vampire, but when I saw it I thought this movie was a mixture of Little Shop Of Horrors, Young Dracula, The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Scooby Doo itself to create a musical spectacular which ended with Scooby Doo holding a glass of fruit punch and not yelling "Scooby-Dooby-Doo!" like he always does to round off another spooky mystery.
