Cosily Cocooned - Self Care Tips

Because the story may be too erotic for some.

National Sundae Day - Sweet Activities!

  • DIY Sundae Bar: Set up a sundae station with a variety of ice cream flavors, sauces (chocolate, caramel, strawberry), and toppings like sprinkles, whipped cream, fruits, and nuts. Let everyone in the family customize their own sundae creation.

  • Sundae Taste Test Challenge: Grab some unique or unusual ice cream flavors and have a blind taste test. Rank the flavors and try to guess which is which.

  • Sundae Art: Use toppings to "paint" a scene or shape on your sundae. Kids (and adults!) can make faces, animals, or patterns with sprinkles, gummy candies, and fruits.

  • Sundae Scavenger Hunt: Hide sundae toppings around the house and let everyone go on a scavenger hunt to find them. Once everyone has found their toppings, they can build their sundaes.

  • Ice Cream Cone Sundae Parfaits: Layer ice cream and toppings in a glass for a parfait-style sundae or try making mini sundaes in ice cream cones.

  • Sundae and Movie Night: Pick a fun movie, and serve themed sundaes with toppings inspired by the characters or setting of the film.

  • Sundae Topping Crafts: For a creative twist, use sundae toppings to make crafts or play sensory games with kids. Arrange toppings into shapes on a plate or “glue” (with a dab of frosting) small treats onto a piece of paper to create sweet artwork.

  • Sundae Day Sweet Movies:
    Monsters Inc
Strawberry Shortcake: The Sweet Dreams Movie
    Meet Strawberry Shortcake
    Children's Favourites Bumper Special
    Brambly Hedge: Spring Story

National Singles Day - Treat Yoself!

    1.Self-Care Spa Day

    • Treat yourself to a relaxing home spa day. Start with a warm bath or shower, use your favorite skincare products, and even light some candles or diffuse essential oils. You could even go for a DIY facial, a luxurious hair mask, or a foot soak.

    2. Movie Marathon or Series Binge

    • Pick out a selection of your favorite feel-good movies or series and settle in with cozy blankets. Whether you’re into rom-coms, action, or animated films, choose whatever makes you feel happiest. Bring your dog along for cuddles and make it a cozy movie day.

    3. Order or Cook Your Favorite Meal

    • Enjoy your favorite comfort food, whether that means ordering in from a restaurant you love or cooking something special for yourself. Add a sweet treat or dessert if you like!

    4. At-Home Hobby Time

    • Spend some time doing something you enjoy but may not always have time for, like drawing, writing, knitting, or playing an instrument. It's a great way to relax and unwind, and it’s even better if you have a passion project you’ve been meaning to work on.

    5. Play with Your Dog

    • Spending time with your dog can be incredibly rewarding and stress-relieving. You could try teaching them a new trick, going for a long walk if the weather’s nice, or just playing around with their favorite toys indoors.

    6. Self-Reflection and Gratitude Journaling

    • Take a moment to reflect on the great things about being single and independent. Write down things you're grateful for, your goals, and everything you’re proud of. It’s a great way to celebrate where you are in life right now.

    7. Try a New Creative Project

    • Whether it’s baking something new, starting a photo scrapbook, or finally tackling a DIY project, letting your creative side out can be super fulfilling.

    8. Set Up a Cozy Spot for Reading or Meditating

    • Gather up some pillows and blankets, find a peaceful corner, and get lost in a book you’ve been wanting to read. Or if you prefer, put on a meditation track or calming music, close your eyes, and relax.

    Our Mental Health Day

Today has been really stressful for Lady Penelope, Parker and me. We were forced out on a mission for International Rescue, and Parker was so stressed he almost swerved off the road. But luckily, when Penelope contacted Jeff through her compact, he told us to have a mental health day. "Head home, do what you like to do, and get yourself recharged," he told us.

So we went home, and that was exactly what we did: have a mental health day. While Parker put his feet up with a mug of coffee, Penelope and I had a little 'us time'. We did some painting together, and while Penelope made a pretty marvellous masterpiece, I did some messy hand painting, which came in useful at one point. Later, we both had a luxurious bath with lots of bubbles - for me, it was to wash off all the paint on my body, and we just relaxed and felt the water loosen our muscles. After we've dried, we settled in our pyjamas and had 'er ladyship's favourite cocoa - it was so warm and delicious that I couldn't help but ask for a second mugful, which made Penelope giggle. To see how warm we were, we put our feet together and wiggled our toes, which made us both giggle, like we were besties for life.

Finally, we both felt extremely tired, so we went upstairs to clean our teeth and snuggle under the covers. We were both safe and warm together in bed, dreaming of another day of fun - just us two, together.

    Garden Island

Lady Penelope had a stressful day of going on mission after mission for International Rescue, so she needed to have a relaxing sit down in her lounge. However, it came as no big surprise to her when she found a set of golden footprints leading out of the lounge. She decided to follow them.

Through room after room she followed them, until she found me dressed in a Hawaiian shirt and shorts, with a lei around my neck. "Follow me to Garden Island - it's a vacation you don't want to miss out," I smiled, and I lead Penelope into the garden. It was decorated in hibiscus flowers and fairy lights which glowed in the light of the dark sunset. Penelope was shocked and amazed by her surprise, and gave me a big hug. "Thank you for a marvellous surprise, little Sybil," she smiled. "My pleasure," I said.

We spent the rest of the evening pretending to fish and cook on a pretend fire (which is actually a lantern), and relaxing, embracing how simple island life is. Penelope was so relaxed, she forgot all about the stressing mission and just enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, with me by her side...

That is, until Parker got washed up on our 'island'. "Oh, a visitor!" I cried, "How kind. You know what, dear islander? We shan't eat him. We should just welcome him into our fray."

    Our Beach

Hidden away from the rest of society (or maybe even International Rescue, unlucky chaps) is a beautiful beach. Its white sands stretched across the shore, and the sea was a bright blue. The scent of coconuts and hibiscus filled the air, and a huge palm tree overlooked the whole scene. This, was where Lady Penelope and I lived.

Lady Penelope and I thought of this empty beach as our own. We like to tread our feet on the soft white sand as we walk together hand in hand across the beach, comfortable with our surroundings and in our own skin. This beach was our home.

We were at one with the ocean, the sand and the glistening surroundings that made this beach our own. Everything was peaceful, and the sound of the gulls soundtracked our beach adventures easily. We were very careful with seagulls too.

I’ll be telling you about one day in our lives, which will be told from sunrise to night.

Lady Penelope and I spent that particular morning sleeping under the palm tree, safe in the knowledge that nothing dangerous will ever happen to us. Snuggled against Penelope’s skin, I felt safe and warm. In fact, I was the first to wake up on this sunny morning. I climbed all over Penelope’s body to make sure she was awake, and when she did wake up, she cracked her knuckles as if to force them out of sleep.

We then went to another palm tree across the beach to get some fruit. There were mangoes and papayas growing on the tree, and when we shook them off the tree, we caught them just in time. We spent all morning sharing morsel after bite of our tropical fruit.

Soon, there was sticky fruit juice all over our mouths and crumbly, grainy sand all over our bodies, so it was time for a good long wash in the sea. EEEEEEEEEE!! This is the best bit, it’s my favourite!

The Wild Woman & Her Daughter

In the heart of Africa, there lived a wild, free woman named Lady Penelope. She spent her days roaming around the grasslands, indulging in its beauty and freedom. She was friends with all the animals who roamed the plain, and spent lots of time around them each day. She swam with hippos and elephants, relaxed around lazy lions and played with the monkeys. Every day brought a new sense of wonder to her - she may not have an Adam, but she was a definitive Eve.

Her favourite thing to do every day was go down to the stillness of the lake and collect flowers which fell gently onto the water. She would go back to her cave straight after she picked a handful and decorate it with their bright colours and fresh scents.

Nature was full of love for this woman, and she lived in ultimate peace and harmony with every single element that nature represented in the cycle of life. Until the day she became pregnant with me - that’s right, I’m her daughter. The name’s Sarah, and I’ll tell you all about it.

For days she’d been preparing for my arrival, yet she didn’t know if it was a boy or a girl. She ate good food, mainly fruit from the trees which grew some and made them fresh. She rested a lot too, with no time to play with the monkeys or bathe with the elephants. She was eating and resting to make sure I was born beautiful and healthy - the first child born in the wild. Then came the night I was born.

Screams echoed through Penelope’s cave as lightning flashed outside and rain fell heavily. She tried breathing, and as I slowly started to come out, Lady Penelope tried hard not to scream while I was coming out. However, my birth was too much for her to handle, and she screamed loudly:

    “YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!”

And there I was: a beautiful, healthy baby, just 0 months old and fresh into the wild. Penelope was moved to tears by how beautiful I was.

After painfully cutting off the umbilical cord with a sharp rock (ooh, that must’ve hurt, you know), Penelope shakily got up on her legs and took me outside to clean all the slimy blood and cheesy wax coating off my skin.

However, instead of taking me to the lake where she normally bathed, she lifted me high into the air as rain poured right down onto me, my cries echoing through Africa, the lightning settling down a bit. Bit by bit, the cheesy coating and the bloody slime melted off my skin and onto the ground, as Penelope felt like sobbing. She had given birth to a beautiful baby girl - a girl who will continue protecting the wild after she is gone. And thus, she named me….Sarah.

After I was cleaned up, Penelope and I spent the rest of the night cuddling, cooing and giggling. It soothed me and stopped me crying. The sounds of nature outside also soothed me, and soon I was fast asleep against Penelope’s skin, safe and warm and comfortable.

    YTV: Legend Of The Jungle

Deep within the hidden realms of Paradise, there is a beautiful, vast, tropical jungle. It’s the most freedom-filled place on this vast earth, hidden away from the rest of the world. No one knows how to get there, or where it is, or what to do once you get there. All the residents know about is having lots of fun in the freedom of their jungle home.

The jungle is filled with creatures who dare not bite or pounce. The trees grow with heaps of fresh fruit, and the waters are smooth and crystal clear. No matter what the weather, this magical jungle stays standing come rain or shine.

This book tells the story of three groups of its most extraordinary inhabitants, some of which you won’t believe, as they spend their days frolicking in their freedom and having lots of fun in this boundaryless, beautiful paradise, where the leaves are comfortable to sleep on and the trees are tall enough for climbing. These are the people we’ll meet right now.

    “HA!”

Furaha the lioness cub pounced onto a small lizard that was coming her way. There was no escape for the thick skinned lad, but then Furaha heard a rustling in the bushes. “Hello?!” she called out, a tone of nervousness in her voice, “Is anyone there?”

The rustling got louder and louder, and then - WHOOSH! Out jumped Orko, Furaha’s best friend and a Trollan wizard who escaped the most abusive life he ever faced back on Eternia to be on Earth. He pinned Furaha to the ground, causing the lizard to escape just in time.

“Lizard meat,” spat Furaha sarcastically. She turned her head to Orko. “Orko, I was just about to eat that lizard. You know, skin it alive and such.” Orko just laughed. “Oh Furaha, you know lizards aren’t meant to be skinned alive! Okay, maybe they can. But I’ll show you what it means to catch a lizard!”

With that said, Orko began to tickle Furaha under her furry arms. Furaha squealed and laughed loudly. “No, Orko, STOP! I’m ticklish!” she screamed. Eventually, she freed herself and began to run across the jungle with a whoop of joy. “Oi!” screamed Orko, “Come back here!”

Furaha ran into the undergrowth with Orko on her tail. She was laughing and giggling as she burst through leafy bush after leafy bush, until finally she came onto the edge of a rocky cliff. “Wow…” she gasped. She could see the whole jungle from that vantage point, and down below was a lake with a huge waterfall. Furaha closed her eyes and felt the wind in her face proudly. She was like a lion who took his place as king of Africa.

Suddenly, Orko crashed through the bushes and bumped into Furaha, sending them both tumbling into the lake far below.

    SPLASH!

An Unforgettable Trip....And Some Lazy Singalongs!

Today I visited my old chum Su at her house. Sure, she may have the badly edited Frozen II singalong on TV, and C may be in charge, poking and prodding me and scratching me, but still, I was impressed with what she had on offer. She had a sensory room where she kept all her toys and favourite things, including a special Stitch pillow, some Baby Einstein toys, some hand cream, a ball pit and a giant piano toy. I even played the maracas and made music with my friend. In the kitchen, while enjoying my hot chocolate and Hobnobs, I found a special 'Magic Box' filled with things Su sees to symbolise points in her life, such as a pink hippo for swimming, a bunny for bedtime, a donkey for when her mum comes over, a pink trolley for shopping, a spoon for mealtimes and more.

Su's bedroom is a sight to behold. The mat she uses to get up on her bed is extremely squishy and blue, and she has two projectors to help her get to sleep: one for projecting moons and stars, and one for projecting underwater images and lots of fish. Anyway, Su's house was so extraordinary! I was even told she watches ambience videos before she goes to bed, such as ones with a fish tank. I also recommended some other things for her to watch before bed, such as:

    Zenimation
    Hub Holiday Yule Log

    I love you, Su!
